Good Morning all!

I took today and tomorrow off so I am up "late" and just hanging out here with the dogs and DH drinking coffee.. have not worked out yet, but plan on an I-Tread and S&H Triceps. Just wanted to start the thread...

Linny: Yes another hot one yesterday, and we do not have AC.. it's not too bad in the basement where I work out. I was mentioning your hive problem to DH who is a dentist, not a Dr, but he seems to think you should see an allergist.. even though it appears that they are triggered by stress, there may be an underlying thing going on that you are not aware of..eg something you are ingesting that is doing this..it could be a supplement, some food etc, the allergist would make you list every single thing you eat to see what it could be. also what about soaps or laundry detergent? have you changed anything recently? Even new lip gloss or make up can do this.

Rhonda: I can't believe how much work you are doing! I vote for SH Legs and Shoulders. one of my favorites. Thanks for posting the Chili recipe..

Kathy: I wish we had a Rita's here.. all we have is Dairy Queen and some really good Mom & Pop type ice cream parlors that are deadly! I agree with you on the diet being what is more important..I can work out 6 days a week, cardio and weights etc and if I don;t change what I eat, I gain weight. Thanks for the tip on EW.. I am going to see if DH wants to go to Borders later and I'll pick up a copy.

Garance: When will Kool be able to get some "relief"? LOL! then maybe you can sleep! The chili sounds good..don't know if DH would try it since he is a pretty Tex/Mex traditiionalist when it comes to food.

Josie: you are so lucky to have a gym at work! Glad to hear your back is back to normal.. wow 12th Marathon... and you don;t want to be called our Gazelle!

Susan: wow 4 miles up hill... that is awesome!

Melrose: Be careful on those stairs! Maybe the diet gods were giving you a message about that Latte! Just kidding!

Well I am off to the basement to do my workout so I can enjoy my day off.. I may be back later.

Deb:)

Good Afternoon Deb and those to follow:
Deb:Allergies were my first thought and I did make a list and nothing new was added. Also detergents and makeup have all been the same.I exercised today and did get hives but not as bad. A woman at work told me that her son developed stress related hives and they did eventually go away once stress was reduced. I'm hoping this happens some because I took my last prednisone today. I was hoping to go swimming this weekend but I may end up sitting in the RV, warding off the hives. Have a great workout in the cool basement.
Kathy: I'll have to check out that EW magazine.I'm still waiting for my son to help down load Ebook.
Rhonda:That receipe looks delich I'll have to try it.
Josie: How long did your hives last? Did you get them from alot of things? Mine come with exercise, water, cold, pressure on skin, and stress. Its going to be a hellofasummer.
Susan:Good Job!
Hi Garance and Melrose~Linny~

Hi Deb, Linny, and later arrivals--

I did Gym Style Chest and Triceps. I am a wuss when it comes to those endless pushups. I do them all on my knees. I cannot do Cathe's 20s for chest (I do 15s and alternate with 12s for flies). On triceps, I do 8s and for the overhead press, a 15. I still almost inevitably get DOMS from this workout.

It's still pretty muggy here, even after big thunderstorms last night, but it's scheduled to go down to mid-seventies and less humid tomorrow.

My husband wanted to see Oceans Thirteen last night, but due to a power outage at the theater, we couldn't. Then we go to Friendly's for softserve, and it turns out the softserve machine is not working. Then we go home to watch my Netflix pick, Deja Vu (pretty good!), but only on condition that DH records So You Think You Can Dance for me---but he hasn't checked to see if his earlier settings for recording are still working. I see the last 30 minutes of SYTYCD, but while we were gone, there was a power outage at our place that knocked out his recording settings. So I missed the first 90 mins. Phooey!

Kool was quiet last night because none of the ladies was in heat. He moves into their pasture next week, so things will significantly quiet down--but there's always something going on with those critters. I always ask DH, "How is the animal kingdom today?"

Gee, that chili was good! I think there is enough for one more night. Then it's time for pesto--our basil crop is enormous.

Linny, have you confronted your witchy boss yet? You could bid farewell and then start singing, "We're out of the woods, we're out of the dark, we're out of the night," from the Wizard of Oz. I would love to be a fly on the wall if you ever do tell her that she causes hives.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Happy Thursday, All,

The fall on the staircase at work I mentioned in yesterday's post combined with my stupidity when I got home resulted in me barely being able to walk today.

I did IMAX 2 when I got home because, by golly, I said I would! I made it halfway through and had to stop. Today, my left foot is twice the size of the right, so today will be a rest day.

Today was one of our 4-times-a-year book sales at work. We are inundated with books in the mail every day, in hopes they will catch the book editor's eye. Once the reviewers are through with them, they are sold in our lobby for $1-$5. All proceeds go to buying toys for poor children in Houston for Christmas, so it's a feel-good deal all around.

Does it say too much about my personality that I bought ``The Wine-Lovers Diet'' and ``Bright Lights, Big Ass?''

Have a wonderful day,
Jen

Hi Ladies,

Today I will be trying a Cardio Coach tape during lunch. I will try the one that lasts 30 minutes.

Linny, My family an I moved to San Francisco and I did not have any family there other than my DH and DS and I had just had my DD. I used to break out in hives every evening they appeard any place where there was ellastic or nylon touching my skin. Once in a while I would get them on my face, those were the worst. I looke like quazimoto. The Benadryl help al lot this lasted about 6 months. Once I moved back to LA and I had the rest of my family aroung and had friends and people that I could talk to they disappeared. I did not like the weather and the people were so different there.

Hey Ladies:
Garance: I hate pushups! I My boss is back from vacation today but lucky me its my day off: ) I did go talk with HR yesterday and told her pretty much everything(I hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the a**) I had some pictures my husband took of my arms when I had a full blown hive episode. I figured what the yeck I'll show HR. I sat down and said I have some incriminating photos here. She had a scared look on her face. Then I showed her the pictures, she was impressed. I said you know I probably could do a medical leave, but I know you have to keep my position open till I come back and I think this place needs a ADON so I'll just resign. I told her there are many unhappy nurses and She may be losing them. So tomorrow I will see my boss since I did leave my resignation on her desk. Could be a very interesting day.
Josie: I wish mine were just in a few areas but I can get them anytime anywhere. I just came home from grocery shopping and got them on my arms, hands and legs. Wouldn't be so bad if I had long pants and sleeves on, but didn't.Oh well! `Linny~

Hi All,

I just got back from doing the Cardio Coach and let me tell you!
I'm still sweating. I loved it.

Hi Everybody! What a team we make!

Still sorting and cleaning. Spent this morning working on revamping Community Based Instruction that I do with my students several times a week. Really trying to focus on Individual Education Plan goals and objectives. The paper recycling bin is really full. Thank goodness they pick up tomorrow!

Did not feel well yesterday...just a vague feeling in the pit of my stomach. So I did not exercise. Did SH biceps and triceps today.
Tomorrow I will do legs and shoulders. It really is a struggle for me to get through SH. I find it so boring, but I can see my muscle strength increasing.

Have a great evening,

Rhonda
