50 and Over - " ~Marvelous Monday!~

Good morning to all,

Today was cardio so I did a 40 minute I-Train.... forgot to hit "start" on my HRM so I was a little ticked off when I completed it and there were no calorie stats! I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS LOL!

Will be picking up the new car tonight after work.. I will miss my Jeep.. It has been a pretty great car. Got me through some nasty winter weather! Hopefully the new car will do the same.

Linny: the Forester is an AWD.. it goes into all wheel when it senses you need to.. ? I don;t know how this works but it does.. my DH has an Escape that has the same thing. With the Jeep, you had to put it in 4 wheel with this big shift knob! you really knew when you were in 4WD! It felt like a tank! That is what I really liked about it. I always felt safe in that car. The gas mileage was awful.. it cost $60 to fill the tank and it got around 13-14 miles per gallon. Another reason I am trading it in. Let us know what you find out about the blood type diet.. I have heard about it but have not known anyone to try it. Hope your Hot Flashs get better.. I swear that my taking vitamin E (800 mg) and calcium with soy keep mine under control. I know when I go away and forget to bring my vitamins, they start up again.

Have a great day;-)

RE: 50 and Over -

Hope everybody is well.

Did about 30 minutes of Step from Cardio Fusion. Then chest and Triceps from GSCT. And finally yoga stretching.

I got a new car about two years ago after my 13 year old volvo lost it's air conditioning. It was a great car, and the engine would not die. However nothing else was working. Having a new car is so much fun. Especially the CD player. I like to listen to books on tapes when I drive and all the new ones are on CD. And having air conditioning around here in the summer is a must.

Thinking about the North Pole helps my hot flashes. I visualize penguins.

Regards,

Rhonda

Happy Monday, All,

Linny, I'm so glad you were able to go in the water. Maybe things are beginning to settle down.

Deb, my daughter is 32. As to the blood sugar crashes - no one knows what causes it - that's why I hate this disease so much. My type of diabetes is called ``brittle'' because I can eat the same thing for lunch, take the same amount of medication, exercise at the same time each day, and my blood sugar levels will be high one day, low the next, and normal the next. It's incredibly frustrating. My endocrinologist has said she won't retire until she finds something that will work for me!

As to the Gym Styles and Hardcore Series - I like a lot of the exercises, but I don't do them as a rotation. They're scattered about within all my DVDs so that I only do one once in a while - that's because most of them have rotten music and my copies have sound issues (sound fading in and out). Trying to get SNM's customer service to help has been an exercise in frustration, to say the least. I've given up. (Hope this doesn't get me banned!)

Yesterday, I completed Christi Taylor's Still Steppin' and segment 1 of Tamilee's 10 minute stretch segments, the standing version. Tonight, I'm planning on doing Cardio and Weights.

Have a wonderful day,
Jen

Hi Ladies:
Did some Kickmax and KPC today.I can only do the lower intensity of the dvds. I've gained so much weight that its hard to do too much jumping.
Deb: Have fun with your new car. I worked with someone that had AWD and loved it.
I'll have to try the vit.E and calcuim with soy. I've been having these hotflashes daily for about 2 weks now. A nurse at work told me that she has lost 20 pds doing the bloodtype diet. I'm slowly replacing foods I should avoid for beneficial foods for my bloodtype. We'll see how it goes.
Rhonda: Sounds like you had a great work out.I'm trying to learn more about yoga and do little daily. I have a dvd that I really like,it teaches relaxation breathing and different stretching poses.
Jen: I was so happy when I got out of water and only had weals and no hives. Not sure if its from less stress or all the meds I'm taking. I think though if I stop the meds I'd still have the hives.I went for walk tonight and didn't get the hives but did get the red weals on my arms and felt my ears get hot and a rush of heat go up my neck. And thats what usually happened before I got the hives.
Sorry to hear of your diabetic issues, do you have to give yourself insulin? I had a problem with a dvd before and SNM was good about replacing it. maybe they are just wicked busy with the new dvds now.
I'll check in tomorrow. I got to job shadow tomorrow to see if I'll like visiting nurses. Good Night~Linny~
