As you know I have been taking some tutoring classes to prepare me to take the GED, well last night was kind of bad, I was in the class with two other girls and one girl can do everything on the top of her head and I can't even multiply!!! anyway I came home in tears feeling like a 38 year old looser that can't do math. well I came home and my 5 year old made this funny face that melted my heart and made me laugh and he said "see there is your smile" and he gave me this huge smile!!! he is just so cute and just love him!!! he sure made my night.

Awwwwwww. How adorable!!

Lesliemarie, everyone is different. I can't do math in my head either, but it doesn't make me a bad lawyer. Everyone has their own talents and strengths. It's good to know your weaknesses, but be sure to get to know your strengths even more! We can't all be good at everything.

Quick story for you: When I was in law school one day my car broke down. I called AAA and the mechanic came and fixed my engine. We got to talking and he said that he was in awe of anyone who could make it through law school. I remember thinking at the time that I was completely in awe of him because he could make my car engine run, and told him so. He was completely surprised!! It never even occurred to him that being able to fix a car was important! Weird, but true.

Sorry so long. You have a fabulous kid! :D

That is great!!! Sometimes the little ones just know exactly what to do or say to make you feel better. My oldest son has always seemed to know when I'm having a hard day. He just says "mommy you look like you could use a hug!" and proceeds to give me one. How can I be sad after that?! ? Cherish every minute with your little one !
And good luck on your test!

That is so sweet! Sometimes kids know exactly what to do or say to make us feel better.

One time my 8yr old ds caught me crying and told me I was going to make him cry, too. Then he said, "Don't cry, Mommy. You're such a good, beautiful Mom!" I gave him a big hug!

Awww, Lesliemarie, your son sounds so adorable!! What a sweetie!

Don't worry about not being able to do math in your head. We can't be perfect at everything - sounds like you're already an awesome mother! I know several teachers who can't spell very well. They compensate by using spell-checker and they are still very good at their jobs.

That's so sweet. Today a friend and I were having a long talk about how our lives completely changed after kids (for the better for sure). It sure changes your values etc and what is REALLY IMPORTANT in life.

Good luck with the studying.
