Hi good morning everybody. No mistake today. Today is power hour and 30 minutes of cardio in my rotation. Yesterday I did Ctx upper body and a hour in my stationary bike. Have a great day everybody.

Hi, Maria (see? easier for me to remember LOL). This is Gayle...remember we just did August's rotation in December?

I'd like to join you here if you don't mind. My wrist and hand are healing and I got the green light to start working out again (I didn't tell him I already was! LOL). So, count me in here.

Today was PLB adn I used dumbells instead of the barbell. I wasn't sure my wrist could take lifting that heavy barbell overhead so many times.

I read yesterday's thread and I am considering doing January's rotation, but I can't make up my mind. I am also toying with the idea of doing the august 2004 rotation again. Suggestions would be great! I need to lose about 8 pounds and in 2005 I really want to work on definition and cardio endurance.

Thanks for letting me join!

Gayle

Of course I remenber you Gayle. It`s fantastic to know you can start working out again. I am sure everybody will be happy having you here. In PUB I always use dumbells. Good workout. Why don't you try my rotation? I am doing the april 2003 rotation: muscle endurance. I am starting my second week and I think this rotation is easy to do and you can add cardio with the endurance workouts. For example today I am going to do PH and I am going to add cardio. There lot of days with cardio of your choice too. Don't worry with the Cathe's workouts you will loose the extra weight soon.

Good morning Mariángeles, and welcome Gayle! Most of these posters are doing some rotation so they can help....I've never done a Cathe rotation...but I probably will with Hardcore...:)

Wendy....I ended up not doing the Hardcore Kickbox Circuit yesterday...I'll do it this morning. Yes, the combo for the ab marathon is KPC,ME,PUB

Jes...I do think your DH would look very good with grey hair, even from a can! I think mine started turning grey after the first 5 years we were married...:)

Sandy..hope you get things strainghtened out with the work PC...

Have a great day ladies....:)...Carole

Hello Carole, Mariangeles, Jes, Sandy, and Gayle!

Today is L&G on the Jan. rotation; I had two tennis matches this week and one more scheduled on Friday so I will not be adding any extra cardio as suggested. My legs and heart will be worked well enough. Last evening they (my legs)were very tired feeling, not sore just exhausted. Today though I am ready for L&G. I will try to keep my water intake up today; I find it harder to accomplish this during the winter. But I feel it helps muscle and my skin tissue especially in dry heated environments.

Mariangeles~ Good job on the date today
;-)

Good morning!

This morning I did day 5 of the Jan. rotation: Legs & Glutes. I prefaced it with the Cardio & Weights step only premix. I don't do LG nearly enough. That is a fun workout, and very effective. I'd forgotten all about those killer glute sweeps, until the very moment we went into them. DOH! I could have lived without that torture :)

Welcome Gayle!! It's always nice to see new check-in members!

Wendy - I'm not sure if it matters what order you do the ab marathon in, but Cathe initially posted it as PUB; KPC; ME.

Carole - thanks for the Walmart suggestion. I'll check it out, probably this afternoon, but I'm skeptical they'll have them. Our Walmarts don't have as extensive a supply of sporting goods as in the US. For example, we can't buy the Step at Walmart, and try as I might, I can't find a gun anywhere.

Sandy - get that PC fixed soon! I missed your posts yesterday! I'm pleased that you will be joining us for the entire month of January! Who needs a gym membership ;-)

Jes - what are you subbing for LG today?

Okay, I'm starving. Talk to you all again later!
Sandra

Hey! today is "help grandma take the christmas crap down day" (which is not as bad as gumbo x( )

Mariangles..buena trabajar en la fecha de hoy!
I replied to your message.

Carole, i have some great pics of the hair, but i am a little hesitant to put it on the page since i am in the pic.......i'll work on cropping it. (you know from the waist up}( ) fishnets are great at hiding dimples, but with all the muscel around here, it would be a little much!)

Sandra, here's what i did for the rotation this week:
Mon- SJP
Tues- SB + ME abs
Wed- C&W step+ME upper body premix
Thurs-Imax2 + C&W abs
Fri-KPC!!!!!
Sat- L&G x(
Sun off

that WAS the plan, but yesterday i had such bad DOMS in the legs from using my new machine for hamstrings, that i only got through Pilates, so i am going to have to do yesterday's on Sunday.

I am starving too.......see all of you later and have a great day!

jes

OK! I made up my mind. I was going back and forth between the January 2005 rotation and Arpil 2003 that Maria is doing. I decided to do the January rotation. I am going to let Cathe be my personal trainer this year as much as I can.

I will pick right up with PUB tomorrow. I kind of alreay did the first 3 days. Monday I did Rhythmic Step, Tuesday was Kickboxing at the YMCA, and today was PLB. I was planning on PUB tomorrow anyway.

MAN! So many workouts and so little time!

Gayle

Yea, we are in January!!!

Just kidding Stayfit!!LOL!!

I did IMAX 1 today the whole thing start to finish. Felt good!!:7

Have a great day!!:D

Good morning everybody!

I lost a whole day yesterday so I guess that will have to be my day off this week! Monday I had such a great day -- Cardio Kicks plus CTX Kickbox arm drills and abs, and then later a 1.5 hour hilly power walk with my pal up the street. Went to bed feeling normal and woke up at 2:00 a.m. with chills, fever and those deep-muscle body aches. Ugh! DH got me an extra blanket and a hot water bottle and some Advil Flu, and I finally dozed back off around 3:30. I stayed in bed literally all day and all night last night. What a blessing that my older son drives and could bring his brother home from school! I got up only to take a couple of hot showers (for the chills) and to go to the bathroom. What misery -- and it sure didn't help that my back and shoulders were already sore from all the punching I did on Monday! Last night DH and the kids brought me chicken noodle soup and toast and I felt better after eating, and then I had a pretty normal night's sleep. This morning I feel almost totally like myself -- just a little "off" from being horizontal for so long!

Yesterday would have been L&G on my schedule so I should do that today, but I don't know that I'm up to it. For some reason it's one of those workouts that just wipes me out. I think I'll swap days and do Pyramid Upper Body but just do the "Pyramid Up" premix and limited abs work -- if I can do that much I'll feel like I've been "legit" but haven't pushed too hard. Heaven knows I don't want a relapse of yesterday!! Then tomorrow I'll do L&G.

Have a great day, folks, and may NONE of you catch whatever little bug bit me! :)

2005 Worked Out With Cathe Days: 3/365 :)

Hello all.

Yesterday I did 30 mins of Power Max and 30 mins on the Gazelle.

Today is basic step and lower body toning for me....I have a feeling the lower body work is gonna be TOUGH x( today....I'm kinda sore already in my legs from previous work outs. I'm wondering if it is best to skip it and do something else instead to give my legs a chance to recup? Any advice is appreciated.:)

I haven't done leg toning 2 days in a row but I think being new to step and using my gazelle is REALLY putting my legs to the test. They are 2 exercises that are very new to me.

Thanks!

~Wendy~

Good Morning,

I will be doing PS Triceps, MIS Triceps and a Pilates workout tonight.

Welcome Gayle!

Have a Great Day!

Kathy S. Norwalk virus has been rampant in our neck of the woods, maybe that is what you had. So many people have called in sick to work, either for themselves or because they have a sick child. Hope you feel better, please don't overdo it with too heavy of a workout!

Even though I was tired from the day before, went to bed too late and was up with a 2 year old in the middle of the night, I still guilted myself into doing "meaner" legs at 5 am! Those low ends and sit and stands make me dizzy. I thought I was holding my breath, but they still do when I make a conscious effort to breathe.

Everyone have a good day.

Hi everyone,

Last night I felt ambitious so I did L&G Extreme instead of doing it today-WHOAAAA! Didn't know if I was going to make it through but I did.

Today I did Ali McGraw Yoga for the first time. It was relaxing and just made me want to go back to bed. I think from now on I'll do yoga workouts in the evening:)

Nice workouts everyone!

Gayle- My goals for 2005 are the same as yours. I want to see definition, lose about 8-10 pounds, and gain endurance. I'm really trying to focus on my diet this year (so far so good)so that should help-that and the Hardcore! Did you order Hardcore? Oh, and welcome to our check in group-its great motivation so that should help you too. Cathe rotations are great-at first I didn't like rotations now I love them and my workouts feel much more structured and goal-oriented.

Carole-I am planning on the ab marathon for tonight. Everything here is snow and ice covered so I have no plans for the evening.
Oh, and I have to ask-are you the reason your DH started turning grey after you married him?;)

Judy- I'm with you on the water thing- I really need to work on that too.

Sandra-when I did the LG Extreme last night I was so glad when there was only one round of glute sweeps.

Jes - Glad you didn't have any cavities. You're right-some people's teeth are more "interesting" than others.:) Have fun at grandma's house. Nice rotation and you're abs are getting quite the workout-4 days in a row! Ouch! .

Kathy- What a nice DH and kids to bring you soup and toast. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Take care. I agree, somedays you just need to do "something" to feel like yourself again (even though Cathe workouts are a bit more than "something";)).

Wendy-try yoga or upper body work only today-you definitely don't want to hurt yourself. Besides, if you try working the lower body again you won't be able to put 100% into it because you're already sore.

Foodie Sue- Go take a nap:) Meaner legs at 5am is bad enough let along when you don't get much sleep!

Sandy- We missed you too- hope your computer problems get fixed soon.

Have a great day everyone, Wendy

Today is actually my OFF day but I may sneek something in. I feel like I need to move! Maybe walking the dog will cure me. I know I need rest days but sometimes I just can't rest!!!! Susan

Hi everyone!!!!!!

Ok, I'm BACK!!!!!!! Yipeeeeeeee:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 ! Ok can you tell I'm excited not only to be functional at work but more importantly...I can once again chat with all of you throughout the day}( :D !! I missed you guys too!!!!

Today is my step class and I will try to do KPC abs when I get home.

I was going to order CTX this week but I decided to put it on hold for a bit only because I am making a donation to the American Red Cross International Response Fund instead.......I feel like it's the very least I can do as a fellow human being to help those poor souls in Asia. What is wonderful is that my company is matching all employee donations. Really when you think about it, there but for the grace of god go all of us.

Gayle...Welcome to the thread!!

Sandra......hey gotta change things up a bit sometimes:7 !!

Jes....lol, what can I say you have such a way with words, I should be used to it by now but oh how you crack me up}( :7 :7 !

Foodie Sue...are you super human? How in the world did you manage to get through that workout without passing out?? Very very impressive!! Go reward yourself with a nap:)

Wendy I haven't tried L&G extreme yet....oooooh that sounds like a brutal one..must try it soon!

Sorry, wish I could respond to everyone else but I have quite a bit to catch up with here at the officex( ! Welcome to anyone else that just joined the thread that I may have missed:)

Have a great day everyone:7

Hello everyone...nice to see all the great workouts!!

Today I'll be doing leaner legs and a little yoga with Bryan Kest

Had a great time with my mom and grandma yesterday. My grandma is so funny. She is 96yrs and loves to go shopping at the Goodwill, so that is where we took her. It's amazing that she is able to get around like she does!! They left right before dark so I had plenty of time to do my workout yesterday

Jes I'm happy to hear you are cavity free:)

Welcome Gayle:)

Ahhhh, lunchtime, and what better way to spend it than by talking about my favourite subject, with interesting people? As soon as I'm done here I have to clean up the presents that my cat puked up for me. Then I have to go grocery shopping, so this may be lengthy........

Jes - that looks like a great rotation. I really like the ME upper body premix. And I think you're going to like LG, I really do. The music is terrific. I found myself singing out loud during the standing leg extensions, despite Paris watching me with the most fascinated expression on her face. I'm not sure if she was trying to determine whether Mommy had lost her mind, or trying to figure out if singing was part of the workout. Enjoy taking down yet another Christmas tree!

Gayle - I agree with you about the 'so many workouts, so little time' dilemma. I would do LG much more frequently, if I didn't also enjoy doing PLB, LL, and all her other workouts with leg weights in them.

Annette - awesome job with IMAX!!!! How wonderful to see you getting some energy back!

Kathy - "then later a 1.5 hour hilly power walk with my pal up the street" That's a long street LOL!! And that was quite the workout, too! Good thing you were able to do all that before the bug hit. What an awful bug! A big problem for the first workout after a bug like that is dehydration. Drink, drink, drink and get all that water back into your tissues.

Wendymin72 - absolutely give your legs additional rest today! I remember when I was pregnant that it really took my body longer to restore it's energy levels between workouts than when I wasn't pregnant, so it's a good idea to offer it some extra time. Did you begin step only after you became pregnant? That's something! Were you active in some other activity prior to that? You're also doing extremely well, especially given how far along you are. Your dedication is very motivating!

Foodie Sue - Wow!! LL on a bad night's sleep?? Good for you!! Does the 2 year old wake you up at nights frequently? Those plie-squat low-ends do me every time. Have you ever noticed that when Cathe puts the barbell down after the lunges that she backs away from them like she it's going to bite her? Those lunges and low-ends really bite.......my butt.

Wendybdh - LG Extreme!! I haven't tried that yet! And since you say there is only one set of those glute sweeps, I might consider it! I love this forum for challenging me to try new things. I have the Ali McGraw yoga workout, and I like it well enough. It's been a very long time since I've done it. I remember one of the things I don't like about it is how quickly she moves through the poses. I feel like I'm just getting my balanace and feeling the stretch, when she's off to the next one. It's a very calming workout, though, isn't it? Hm. Now look what you've done; you've made me want to do it! Wendy, will you please write a thesis? That way, maybe I'll want to write mine :)

Sandy - great to see the pc working again! Why do you always do abs at home after your gym workouts? Do the instructors not do ab work?

Susan - I'm with you on having to do some level of activity daily. Walking sounds great! On my last day off I had a strong urge to go swimming, but never got around to it. My full day of housework ended up being a workout in itself.

Well, would you look at that? All this time I spent typing, and the cat sick is still on the rug. I thought if you ignored these sorts of things they went away on their own? Grrrrr.

Sandra
