40's Week of Aug 1

Hi girls! Today did plyo legs from STS, forgot how hard that was! Thanks for the good thought everyone! I think I was having a really off day! Lisa, 2:30? AM? Hope you guys brought lots of coffee! Good Morning,

Its suppose to start cooling down here after today only suppose to be upper 90's today but the heat index is suppose to reach 103 we are expecting storms all day and tonite. I will do 4ds LIS step only and shoulders.

Lisa-have fun today sounds like a really nice workout.

Mary-glad you are feeling better today.

Ronne-my workout room has 2 a.c. vents and a ceiling fan but it is upstairs where all the heat goes.

Jody-how goes 4ds?

Shereta-can't believe school is getting ready to start again but that means cooler weather is on the way.
 
We did it! Hiked our first (and maybe last) 14er Mt Greys. 7 miles and 3000ft vertical ascent. ttl time, 7 hrs 15 min. took 3 hrs 45 min to summit. Did I say I was TIRED? Please pardon the lack of personals :)

I wasn't really in the mood to workout so I decided to do Basic Step and then I did 4ds Shoulders.

Lisa-that is amazing make sure you rest tomarrow.

Today's workout was of course LIS/HIS step. I loved it. burned 780 calories in 58 min. First day of school was great. Not crazy busy, but busy. I wished I had worn a step monitor. Feel like I power walked 8 miles in. Kept my 3in heels on all day too. But I did have flats on standby. Didnt need them cause my feet and legs are getting stronger.
 
Lisa, what beautiful pics! Totally worth getting up at 230, tho I vote next time get a hotel or campsite close by and get up at 6.

I ended up doing HIS up to the 3rd section, got frustrated w choreography then did a 15 min bodyrock HIIT w/o w/ a home made Ugi ball I made with a weight, a pillow and bungee cords! DD18 a little dismayed to see her pillow changed into Ugi ball. I never made it back to 4DS so I guess I get to catch up on wts or just do a total do over tomorrow. HIS was fun, I look forward to getting the hang of the last section.

Gonnabe, heels all day? Good for you, I'd have better luck climbing Lisa's mountain!

Scubamary, plyo legs STS sounds like it would be owie, yes? or just hard?

Ronne, tv show sounds fun, day chillin at home sounds good, too.

Jody, I thought about the hotel thing, but I don't sleep as well in a hotel, so it's a toss up. Tonight I can't sleep, so totally utterly exhausted with probably a touch of altitude sickness. My legs hurt so bad I can't get comfortable, Advil isn't even touching it.

You heels comment made me chuckle! I don't think I could do heel for even a couple of hours much less all day!

Well, back to bed to see if sleep will come....

Lisa - those pics look fantastic. Looks like it was worth it. Hope you're taking a rest day today!
By the way, I know you also have problems with doing sliding exercises (till the discs come at least) - well I used a tupperware sandwich box lid today and it was the best solution I found (on exercise mats). See what you think.

Jody - that's very creative of you - homemade exercise equipment!

Shereta - heels all day? I'm with the others - a couple of hours is all I can manage.

Mary - hope you're not doing legs again today. That one is tough.

Roxie - the heat spell has broken here - it's been raining for hours!

Today I did HR LB premix. I think I might be hurting tomorrow. Trying to get some decent workouts in before we go on holiday next week!!

Yea! its nice and cool here today the high is only suppose to be 88 its about time. Tonite for me is 4DS Legs, Legs & Glute Floor work and some abs.

Shereta-I used to work retail so I know how uncomfortable heels can be.

Lisa-sounds like you need to keep your feet up all day and let everyone wait on you.

Ronne-loving the cooler weather.

Jody-at least you will attempt that workout I won't.

Lisa-where in colorado do you live? I have a brother who lives in golden colorado and aunt and uncle and a bunch of cousins live in Longmont.
 
Roxie, I'm in Broomfield (right between Denver and Boulder). My boys go/went to college in Golden. Longmont is close to where I work. Small world! I think you should come visit your brother and we can get together and do some type of workout like a hike or something!

quickie w/o checkin~ HIS 3 section bumbled me up again, but I spent time reviewing it, I think it will nearly flow next time I run it. In meantime, I just counted the first 2 sections, I will prob walk jog later anyway.

OK, wts wise, back and chest- I had trouble with technique in that second round of 1 arm pulls, not sure if I was doing it right. Also, I only have 35 pounds for barbell am somewhat limited on heavier dumbells if I need to use two. I can't match Cathe's weight on most of the exercises anyway. So learning curve and equipment had some negative impact on effectiveness today.

OK, funny things that popped into my head...Cathe calls Scoop it! and I think she is calling out STUPID, ha ha. Also, pull barbell up to navel. Does that mean where my navel should be or where my goobery tummy is hanging?

Overall, agrees HIS is fun, looking forward to making Chest and back more effective.
 
Hey, Ladies. ANother quick checkin. slipped while getting in the shower last night - I mean down with shower hitting me right in the chest. I just stayed there for a few minutes reassuring DH that I was fine. I really felt fine. . Still did SuperSets this morning, and back felt fine all day. Yes, heels again today b/c I felt fine. But now that I'm home, back it trying to cut up. I'll take Ibuprofen after dinner.

Tomorrow will be a short cardio depending on how im feeling. I don't play with injuries.

Hi girls! Murphy, is it your birthday today? Happy Birthday!! Today I did my first step w/o in over a year! yeah me! I did 4DS LIS, (it was peer pressure) I started doing MMA KB this am, DH came in living room where I w/o, the kids shower upstairs was leaking into the living room through the ceiling. Another project! Lisa, it is hard to sleep when you get over tired, did you try some benadryl? hope you feel better! Roxie, I will come with you to visit Lisa, glad it is cooling down for you. Jody, good for you getting HIS, still haven't figured it out! Shereta, can"t believed you worked out after that fall! I hope you are still feeling ok! That is a scary feeling. Tonite I did 4ds Legs & Calves and L&G floorwork, I think Debbie is trying to kill me with this rotation. I still want to do some abs. I tried to match Cathes wts and I hurt my back.
