40's - week of 9/2/12

I did 3 miles on the elliptical in 37 min. That's almost what I do on the TM. The HR on the elip is where you grab it (I don't like those), so I used the chest strap from the TM and turned the TM on so I could look over there at the HR. I kept the speed about where I do the TM on the cardio coach challenges (I did #3). I was pretty tired by the end and was starting to feel like I couldn't keep up the motion. I'm thinking combining the 2 machines (elip first 30 min, tm second 30 min) might be a good w/o.

Roxie, do you get along with the other grandparents? That will be our issue, can't stand DIL Mom. Or are you just allowing them "their" time (which is nice). Why do I feel like the guy's family still gets the short end of the stick?
I find my feet moving toward the front of the elip space wehre you put them and I have to constantly readjust, maybe I"m doing something wrong.

Ronne, I'm sitting here with jello on my head! It's stiff as a board, told DH to touch it, he's like WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR HAIR? You'll never get that stuff out! Funny though how he is starting to want to use my shampoo rejects! The are good shampoos, just too drying for my hair, so now he is asking for another one to try! He doesn't use conditioner, has such nice smooth straight hair (I would love to have hair like that some days).

Mary, did you ever get a w/o in yesterday? ARe you in shock at going back to work and running around kids, man, you must have the energy of an energizer bunny!

Murphy, how is your back/neck?

Jody, are you staying busy with school? Is it going better?

Lisa-I think his mom is kind of a dingbat I wouldn't trust her with the baby but I am trying to be nice and give them time with him but if she gets to go home I will probably be out there to help her get settled. I have to readjust my feet on the pedals because you lift them up some so they slide that is part of my foot problem. If you have a HR monitor that would be a good thing to us with it.

Lisa-I need to add that his parents live 3 hours away and when they come up its for the entire weekend and she doesn't really need that right now.

Hi all! Today, as soon as I finish this! I will do GS BS&B, yesterday fit in a premix from LiCH. I am exhausted with all this running around! As soon as I finish the work out, have to pick kids up from school, feed DD dinner, take her and 4 other kids back to school for football game, they are all in the band, come back feed the rest of us, then back up to school to watch the game, then ferry people to band party, then pick them up! I'm kind of glad DS can't run tomorrow, otherwise we would have to drive 2 hours to see that! Now, I just have to take him to the bus. Ok, I'm done complaining! Roxie, thinking of you, hope all is going well. She is so lucky to have you! Ronne, doesnt that movie have George Clooney? He is adorable! Lisa, is the jello working for your hair? Maybe someday I will give it a go! Elliptical sounds hard! Murphy, how you doing? Did the wine help? Jody, any tests yet? Well, I better get moving, so glad to be off tomorrow! Have a good on! Mary

Mary, Jello works for my hair because it's so fine and thin, it gives it more substance. I'm attaching a picture of how it turned out, there is a bit of scalp show thru (darn genetics). It is so soft and shiny. I don't think I've ever seen it this shiny. I think the soft shiny maybe came from the deep treatment I did using GVP Conditioning Balm from Sally's...it's the cheaper brand that's like Biolage.

school ok. finding a groove, no tests yet. never worked out yesterday, did mammo (came back w/ spot so more tests next week), and also took kids for doc visit, and ran around for scripts (acne for one, eye infection for other). Call from gyn office today and i'm pretty much bummed out, so two rest days this week, I'll flex something tomorrow.
Roxie do they have a lactation consultant at hospital? This window of getting started can be the hardest time. skin to skin as much as possible can help.

Jody, sending you good thoughts and hugs! I'm going to send you positive energy and prayers! Feel them coming!

Jody, Mary just had a false positive too. I used to have them before the digital mammogram, always had to go back for closer views. So I quit going! I'm bad! The worrying was worse than the head in sand approach. It's hard not worrying about it. I'm sending you good vibes! DId they do a digital mammo? I was surprised that mine didn't come back a false positive, so the digital ones are better.

yes digital in 2008, 2010 and just now.
I remember about mary just happened.
I hope false pos, I'm really resentful since I was feeling a good flow after getting thru the last batch and starting school. grrr. Actually i was wishing I'd not done it til after the new year (head in sand approach). And just read article about controversy regarding frequency of them and anguish over false positives. (prevention mag while sitting at dd's appt yesterday)
Thanks for the vibes mary, I'm trying to be open to all good things and feel your energy.

anguish = bad, but understandable. fingers crossed for you my carefree friend (channel that carefree energy).

Jody, I know where you are, I'm sending you positive thoughts, I know how hard it is, we are here for you, I am thinking of you and you are in my prayers. This is going to be okay. I'm sorry you have to go through this. Good thoughts, good energy.

Hi everyone! Today did GS legs. Jody, how are you doing? Thinking of you! Roxie, how is DD feeling? Legs any better? How's that baby? Lisa, your hair is shiny! I would love to have that! Murphy, how are you feeling? Hi Ronne! Well, off to Costco! The cupboard is bare! Have a good weekend! Mary

Hi girls, doing OK today. : )
I did a run this morning and tried to get legs in but after 2 attempts at LBB I gave it up. That dvd may have too many lunges for me to try to do on a non enthusiastic leg day. Maybe I'll do BG tomorrow.
Mary, I need canned sardines, salmon and organic frozen berries from Costco if you don't mind picking up for me? : )
Roxie are you bringing dd and baby home today?
Lisa, are liking the elliptical? You can use CC with that, too, right? you have quite the home gym now.
Murphy, wasssup?
Ronne, sorry work is being a pisser but I hope you enjoy the weekend!
Thanks for the love, yall

Is procrastinating a w/o, if so that's what I've done! Did grocery-max, and got some new carry on suitcases for the trip, then got home and finished planning what we will do on the trip and getting papers together. Next weekend will be washing and packing. Hoping to w/o later, will see. Thinking of a circuit....circuit blast (or whatever it's called from the STS cardio series) is in the pile of 'haven't been done for a while'.

Mary, I think it was all the hydration in the GVP Cond Balm from Sally's that made it so shiny. Have you tried any of the Shea moisture products from Walgreens? They are in the ethnic section---never thought I'd be buying products in the ethnic section! the Curling Souffle is my fav (I use just a LITTLE bit to keep my hair moisturized thru the day), there is the Curling Smoothie too (a bit heavy for my hair so just a little, but I bet they would do great for you, you wouldn't need both). There is also the cooresponding shampoo/condish, or the shea restorative ones too. They are $9.99 each, so not too outrageous in price. I'm thinking of doing another repeat treatment and see what I'll get.

Jody, Yes I plan to use CC with the elip. thinking of seeing if there are any iTread elip w/o's I have to have (but that can wait, I don't like their TM ones very much, but are a nice change if I CC too much). LBB does require energy, BG you can tone down. I would never have done LBB after a run, that run was da bomb! You'd think with my home gym I'd be slimmer

Ronne, DH tells me that I've seen the Descendants. I can't remember movies or books (that's why I keep track of the books I've read in goodreads otherwise I'd read them twice, get halfway thru before I would realize that MAYBE I've read this before but I still can't remember how it ends).

Roxie, how is DD doing? Bet you are busy even with the other GP there.

Well, off to procrastinate more, I think I'll settle down with a book.

Did my w/o. Ended up doing TBT TB express PM. I really liked it, basically only 1 round for each exercise, no repeats. The only bad thing was that the LB work was not from the JFO ones, so next time I'll do the JFO LB PM, FF past each repeat, then do the TBT TB express PM FF to the UB exercises. I really had my HR up during the LB work! And now I sit with jello on my head :)

Good Evening,

Last night I did the elliptical and then dd and grandson got home last night so dh and I went out to help get them settled then today I went to the gym and did the TM and wts then went out to dd's to do some cleaning then dh and I went shopping. DD fell and broke her toe so I took her a walker to help her with balance I am hoping those legs get better soon.

Jody-I felt a lump earlier in the year but when they did the mammogram and sonogram they didn't find anything. My sister and niece both had false results so hopefully they are just wrong sending you good thoughts. DD finally got the little one to nurse now he just needs to get on a schedule.
