40's - week of 9/2/12

Hi everyone

Jody -
it just feels weird right now and sort of awkward. I'm trying to stay out of trouble.
So some things never change, even when you're an adult!!

Roxie - hope your DD is OK. It's all very exciting. When is the due date>

Lisa - sorry, there are no brains in this house!!

Mary - We're 13 next week. We've always given small presents that match the year (you know, paper for the 1st anniversary etc.) but this year it's lace, so I've got to come up with something else! Ykes, 5.30!

Well, DD went off for her first day at secondary school today. She left the house so early to meet with friends and all cycle in together. Can't wait to hear how it went. I was more nervous than her! Did CTX UB PM, (one of your favourites, Lisa). Got it down to 45 mins by missing out a few things!
Back to work for me as well today. Not too bad so far!

Good Morning,

Tonite for me will be some kind of cardio I will figure it out when I get to the gym. DD was uncomfortable last night so she was finally going to use her new tub.

Ronne-due date is Sept 26th.

I did HR LB, STS TB LB, STS TB abs. Woke up feeling refreshed, been a long time since I felt like that!

Roxie, I would never do as much in my w/o unless I had a dvd directing me.

Jody, have you bit you tongue off?

Ronne, aw, your little girl is growing up!

Mary, we are thinking of going to Hawaii in April. Such a long flight! Guess it's not as bad as going to Europe. We've been to the big island, Oahu, and Maui (as a family), now that it's just DH and I we are thinking more smaller islands....Kauai and Lanai. It'd be nice if the fares came down! Going to the smaller islands cost more in airfare too.

Murphy, how's the back?

I think my back issues are stress related. I was feeling good last night, planning to work out this morning. The kids were acting up all night, not going to bed and bothering me and etc. I went from feeling good to being curled up into the fetal position with more back pain. Plus, my neck is hurting again. Maybe I should have some wine tonight before bed - this way I won't be so bothered and maybe my back won't act up. ;-) Plus, aren't grapes good for you? :)

Murphy

Hi girls! Today did GS C&T, arms are shaking! Still! Ronne, hope DD did well today. It is always scary when they go to a new school! Roxie, hope your DD is doing well today. Jody, I know today is your busy day, hope it goes fast! Murphy, sounds like good medicine to me! Lisa, are you still working from home this week? Niagra is this month, right? Have to go take kids to band! Mary

Good Evening,

I didn't get a workout in had to go to the hospital to visit Jaxson Curtis Hickey who decided to join the world today at 8:17 this morning weighing 5lbs 13oz and 19 1/2 inches long and he is a beautiful baby I didn't want to leave him.

Murphy-red wine is good for cholesterol.

Roxie, congrats! I hope mom and baby are doing well. New beginnings~~ How is your dtr? I'm crunchy so I always wish for empowering peaceful births and sweet nursings. Hopefully she is feeling nurtured and is falling in crazy love with her baby. Congrats and enjoy.
I did get a workout in this morn before school, amazing for me! ttyall in morning.

My daughter is having a problem with numbness in her legs so they are doing physical therapy in the morning but other then that she is doing fine. Baby was circumcised tonite. Nursing not going very well.

Hi there

Roxie - congratulations!! What great news! Glad to hear that both are doing well. Are you Jewish?

Murphy - hoping your back is going to get better soon.

Mary - DD gave her first day 10 out of 10 so that's a good start! I see you're back into the thick things again!

Lisa - Ooooh, I'd love to go to Hawaii! Have you seen the Descendants? It looked beautiful.

Normal quiet day here. Getting through the work. Did CRF PM Fitness Circuit/Plyo Tabata/Core. It's a goody. My upper body started to hurt as soon as I started!

Good Morning,

My day started with a visit to my grandson and dd she is looking a little pale today. Tonite will be LB wts of some kind and then another visit to the hospital, god I love that baby.

Ronne-no we are not jewish.

Roxie, what causes numbness in legs post childbirth? I guess something to do with nerves running thru pelvic cavity? I hope she's feeling better soon. Mmmm baby love.

workout choices- a plyo leg (which one?), bg standing, LBB(not too familiar with it), something from LIS that had a lot of leg work like dixie cup lunges but not sure which one it was. suggestions? I'll get a run/bootcamp in tonight. Want a lower body but sorta want it to have a cardio factor.

Excited- scale in the onetwentyfive range

I'll workout when I get back from mammo this morning.

Jody-that is what they told her last night she thought it was from the epidural he said it could take a couple of days or weeks for all of it to go away. Cardio Supersets Lower Body I believe has the dixie cups.

HR UB and STS TB UB and HR abs today. The elliptical is being assembled, I'll take a pic later of the "cardio room". Tomorrow's w/o will obviously be the elliptical.

Jody, WOW on onetwentyfive, I never even weighed that as a teen, guess I'm naturally heavy, because back then I was in peak condition, going to gym (yea I liked to meet guys back then...lol), even my w/o buddies couldn't believe what I weighed. I vote for LBB, I just really like that w/o.

Roxie, congrats Grandma! Hope the nursing starts going better and DD gets to feeling better too. Any chance she's anemic since she's pale, I had to take iron for a while after #2.

Ronne, Nope, haven't seen Descendants, that's a movie, right? I'm bad at keeping up with movies. So glad DD loved the first day, that's always a plus!

Murphy, sounds like it could be stress. I always used to get it in the neck, but since I've changed to a pillow that has the hump at one side to support the neck I don't nearly have much at all anymore. I'm a side sleeper.

Mary, I've been working at home this week too, it's been divine! I'm feeling sooooo much better too, no one gets how stress can affect like it does, but I know my body. Dh is totally supportive of me. NOt sure if I've told you all, but when I left the workforce in 2006, I had granuloma annulare on my elbows and really bad on my hands. Amazingly once I quit working it went away, now in the last yr it's come back on my elbows, I do not want to get to super stressed out and it come back on my hands. I guess I show my stress thru my skin.

Hi girls! No work out to report....yet! Had to take DS to orthopedist, he has a stress fracture in his leg, in a boot and done running for the season. Not a happy boy, we thought it was shin splints. Roxie, how is DD feeling? Legs feeling better yet? Love on that baby! Lisa, so glad you can work from home, makes the world so much better for you! Ronne, so glad she enjoyed her first day, let's hope every day is a 10! Jody, congrats! I am impressed! Murphy, how are you feeling? Well, have to get DD to work, she sweeps for a barber after school, job shares with her twin, perfect job for them! Then I have to work out, it's meet the teacher night! Mary

Wow Mary, after all that WHEN will you fit in time for a w/o?

I played around with the elliptical, learning the console and ended up logging 1/2 mile.

Roxie, how does your mileage compare on an elliptical compare to a treadmill? Seemed when it said I was going 4mph on elliptical I was working harder than on the treadmill (just less impact). Just wondering what to expect.

Good Evening,

Tonite I went to the gym and did a lower body workout and then we went up to the hospital to visit my grandson. DD asked if we could bring her and her DH a Dairy Queen blizzard so we did.

Lisa-it definetly takes more work on the elliptical because you make it move there is no belt moving you along, you will also feel it alot in your chest and calves thats why I like it better.

Hello

Lisa - glad you're enjoying your new toy and your working at home week! Yeah, the Descendants is set in Hawaii, it's good worth watching, if you get the chance.

Jody - so what did you go for in the end?

Mary - sorry to hear about DS. I can imagine my DD would be the same if she couldn't do sport. The twins' after school job sounds ideal. How much do they get?

Roxie - how long will DD have to stay in hospital?

Did a longer workout today. Fancied an oldie so did 55 mins of Amy Bento KBX. Put a smile on my face which I needed as work is being a bit of a pig! Looking forward to the weekend. We've got no plans which is great!!

Good Morning,

Tonite for me will be some kind of cardio don't know what yet and then maybe another visit to see baby but the other grandparents are suppose to be here tonite. DH and I have come to and agreement I will go to the gym to do cardio since there is alot of variety and then do wts. at home having problems with people not sharing equipment and trainers taking my wts. so I think it would be less frustrating and I would have more direction.

Ronne-we are hoping she gets to go home today but her legs are still giving her problems and Jaxson is having problems with latching onto the breast so we are waiting to see what physical therapy says.

Mary-hope you ds heals quickly.
