40's week of 6/17/12

Murphy

Cathlete
Tried to think of a catchy title, but I cannot think much after completing a Cahe dvd - not that I was good at thinking before... ;-)

Tomrrow I am supposed to do LBB so I figured I would do UB body again. I went extra heavy and I am feeling it. Tomorrow should be fun, carrying things and whatnot.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoys the day.

Murphy

Good Morning,

DH is playing golf with he his son-in-law so I have time to get some stuff done if I ever get moving. I went to the gym and did the stationary bike instead of the elliptical and then I came home and did Yoga Relax.

Murphy-good job with your workout can't wait to hear how you feel tomarrow.

Happy Fathers Day! Today did S&G, humid here today, made it harder! We decided not to go see the Marines, supposed to storm. Becky, prayers to you and your Dad. Roxie, enjoy your alone time! Murphy, are you getting excited about the road trip? It will be here before you know it! Jody, hope you had fun with your dad this weekend! Lisa, when does DH leave again? Ronne, did you have fun with your girlfriend? Not sure what will be up to, have to go see our dads, talk to you all tomorrow! Mary

Did MMA KB, decided I needed to save my legs for our hike on Tuesday, we are doing our first 14,000 ft mountain of the year, so excited! Seriously though, the mileage and elevation are a bit less than the hike we just did, the challenge is the terrain and the lack of oxygen being that high. I guess we are just a crazy lot here :)

Roxie, we had a cool day yesterday (78) this week will be 95 or above....another reason we are hiking up high....68 at the top of the mountain, sweet!

Murphy, I'm not very creative with the titles either, I'm just glad someone else has been starting the thread since I feel uncreative with words. I bet Jody could come up with something catchy :)

Mary, I think we were posting at the same time! DH leaves again tomorrow, he caught a cold this last trip so I've been easy on him :) Did I miss something with Becky?

Lisa, she posted on our old thread, she has been traveling with her dad to John Hopkins seeing an oncologist. Hope DH feels better!

We visited w/ family yesterday and I woke today filled with Pizza and BD cake shame. : ( Oh well. I'm going to find a a do-able Cathe and do my xfactor tomorrow when I'm less likely to fudge my way thru. Dad left today after fixing stuff like the microwave install and pulling a non functioning alarm out of the wall. I'm moving pics from an old computer (pics as far back as 2003) to a 16 gig memory stick so I can get rid of old computer. Yuck- a disorganized mess... Various locations, photo programs etc plus the disheartening skinny pics from about 5 years ago and of course so many cute pics of kids, I keep getting side tracked!
Hugs to Becky, check in when you can. I'm sorry for you guys going thru this.
Lisa, I look forward to more beautiful pics from your hike next Tues.
Murphy, I'm with Roxie and wonder how you are going to feel tomorrow. Of course, I love the doms.
Oh Lisa, we were talking about 50 shades yesterday, my girls said it started out as Fan Fict for the vampire books Twilight....which totally makes sense now.
Ronne, do you guys do Fathers and Mothers day? If not, be sure to tell the family about it next May. : )
Roxie, sounds like a nice morning.
I may update my post later after my workout. : ) --> Yep, I finally did a workout, the step portion of MIC (30 min). Who else loves Love Rollercoaster by the Ohio Players?

Hi everyone

Jody - your dad sounds a bit like mine - he can fix anything. We always have a list of jobs for him to do when they come to stay! Yes, we do have Father's Day. DH got a couple of books, a big box of chocolates and a handmade card from DD. We're going out to celebrate next week as were busy yesterday.

Lisa - wow, that is some hike! No wonder you're saving energy for that. You're going to need it!!

Mary - yes we had a great evening. I felt rather tired on Sat morning!!

Murphy - so how are the DOMS?

Well, I didn't get any workouts in this weekend for one reason and another. Felt too tired on Sat after night out and then yesterday DD had a gymnastics competition which sucked up the day. She didn't win anything but she performed her best and was happy with that.
Planning to do some yoga this pm before hitting some harder workouts during the week.

Good Morning,

I got up and went to spin class this morning and it was a packed class got nice and sweaty and tonite is another session with PT so I know that will be a sweaty one to. Its suppose to be 99-100 today and windy.

Becky-thinking of you and your family today.

Jody-you will just have to work twice as hard today and get right back on schedule with your eating.

I slept so awesomely (I don't think I rolled over all night even) that I got up early and got to see DH off to the airport, so then I decided to do a sweaty workout (so much for saving my legs, but as long as I don't do heavy weights or too much high impact I should be good). So I did CSS, then went on to add Intensity bootcamp (the 12 min one), my dvd froze so I took that as a sign.

Roxie, it is going to be unbelievably hot here too. We may break a record today since it's going to be 99. All week above 95, this is hot for us, normally we only have 30 days over 90, at this rate we are going to be double that. I do not like the hot I say!

Ronne, sounds like a fun time with your bff! It takes longer and longer to recover the older one gets doesn't it?

Becky, thinking of you, make sure to try to take care of you too!

Jody, I think cyber clutter is worse than the real clutter! I have plenty of both!

Mary, what fun kid things are you up to today?

Murphy, did you get in a w/o again with assistant help?

I'm in the office today, off tomorrow for the hike, glad to be heading up to the top of one of the highest mountains here and will gladly take the 68 degrees at the top!

Thank you all so much for the kind words and prayers for Dad. This week is full of dr. appointments as we get him ready for chemo and radiation. He's been through so much, after 5 months of chemo already, but he is in good spirits and staying strong.

Other than the appointments and making him meals, he is resting a lot, which leaves me time to do my Ballet Body workouts or go for a quick run while my teens stay with him. I tried doing Cathe with headphones on, but it didn't work out -- must have been funny to see me tangled in my cords though! I may buy her travel workout d/l because I'd only need a band a small space, so that might work out.

Hi girls! Today did B&G! The floor work was miserable! Hot and humid here too! Lisa, good for you getting up so early! Roxie, will you be able to walk tomorrow? Sounds like a killer day. Jody, sounds like you had a great weekend with your dad. Ronne, so glad you enjoyed your time with your friend. Becky, thinking of you. Take care of yourself. Murphy, you out there? The kids went to beach house with MIL. I picked up a day tomorrow for someone going on vacation. It's in OB, not my favorite, but I do like the extra money! Going to clean today, DH and I will have some quiet time! Won't be around tomorrow, see you all on Wed! Mary

Good Evening,

The PT kicked my ass tonite I don't think I will be able to walk tomarrow. I will definetly need to do a stretch.

Roxie, I pretty much went straight to dance after my workout. Definitely not enough loosey goosey in me after that work out. How are you going to fare without the pt when your time is up? Do you think you will push yourself to do the same intensity? Or just think of it as the PT ass kicker rotation which you will be grateful when its done?

Hi all

Well, I know Lisa's probably halfway up a mountain now, and Mary's earning her keep today!! So it might be a bit quiet!

Did AB today. Felt in need of a kick up the bum and Cathe duly provided it :p! For a tough workout, I really enjoy it! I think that must be the kind of workout that suits me. Trying to think what I can do tomorrow. Don't know what's best to do the day after AB. Any suggestions?

Ronne, you are so funny! I'm still sitting here drinking coffee! We are getting a late start (leaving at 8am instead of 6am) since it looks like there shouldn't be thunderstorms so we don't have to get there early and out run them (will see if Mother Nature has a different plan). I did MMA KB the day after AB. MMA KB really works my obliques, my abs have been sadly neglected lately.

Here goes......my 7th 14er!

Good Morning,

I went to the gym and did intervals on the ellipitcal and my legs are officially fried I can't hardly walk and I can tell we worked obliques hurts to breathe and turn.

Jody-I am looking forward to no more PT I have alot of plans for what I want to do and yes I believe this time I can push myself to work as hard as what she puts me through. With Cathe, Chalene and KCM in my collection it can be done.

Lisa-have fun today.

Ronne-the LIS series is one I can't wait to get back to.

Hello all!

Checking in with Cathe's Low Impact Step today. I really like her step videos, and I didn't fall down, so I claim victory! Headed out to walk the puppy now.

Lisa have fun today! Ronne, I bet you are going to enjoy the new workouts. I'm looking forward to them or at least shorter premixes. Roxie, I agree, you have an arsenal of kick butt dvd instructors! LOL to victory Becky. You are managing a puppy and sick parent and hs kids? Rotsa ruck! Mary, I can imagine different reasons for not liking OB but I wonder what yours are? Waves to Murphy! I'm debating whether or not to do a workout. I've got dance tonight...maybe CB.

My dance performance is tomorrow. Sadly I did not lose 8 pounds in the past 3 weeks. Hopefully I can squish into a costume w/o too much muffin top. Auditions for the "pro" dance troupe are this weekend. I can probably get in even if I'm not in top form but it will mean more money per month in lessons/troupe classes plus more clutter in my head (trying to remember choreography w/in the troupe) and time commitments (performing a few times a month) and costumes. Up sides ---> its fun to dance, its more fun to dance w/ your bffs, its good brain training and body conditioning, performing has been good for me to overcome shyness and lack of confidence (hard to believe I suffer from those, I bet) and if you can get a costume to fit properly, it is fun to get to play dress up : ).
