40s - week of 3/6/2011

Hi everyone

Lisa - I generally prefer red but am finding that it makes me suffer more these days so am drinking a bit more white :(. I got a bottle of blackcurrant liqueur for Christmas so have been making kir with that. It makes white wine I'm not so keen on taste nice! Having said that, we just got a box with 10 reds, 1 white and 1 fizz.

I did 3 portions of Peak Cardio today and then followed that with Stretch Max with the SB. My body really needed it. I've been checking out my workout calendar and I haven't done the GS series for a year! No wonder it hurts!

Bye for now!

Hello! Today I did disc 12, mainly because I want to start my recovery week all ready! Raining non stop for the 2nd day in a row and we are supposed to get snow...again. They said 10 inches! Well, Lisa and Ronne, wine is certainly an acquired taste! I do like champagne on occasion or a Riesling, but I have to confess I am a beer girl! I saw the movie Sideways ( I think that was the name). Anyway, told my DH we should grow up and try some wine. They were so passionate about it! Murphy, how's it going? You are in NJ right? Heard you guys are getting a lot of rain. Hi Vickie! Hope everyone has a good day! I am going to get a manicure! Mary

I feel better. The back still has a twinge of pain here and there but nothing like before. I am going to try some stretches tonight and some light-ish exercise tomorrow. I told someone I would do a walk/run with them tomorrow. I really don't want to cancel because I cancelled earlier this week. I will see how the back feels.

Mary - 1. Yes, I am in NJ. We are getting lost of rain but I am not in the flooded out areas - but then again, the day is not over. Speaking of flooding, my office parking garage expects to be flooded out and we may have to park miles and miles away and be bussed in to the office. 2. No, I am not still unpacking from the October move. I just had the stuff I had in a storage facility delivered to the house and I am unpacking those boxes. I was so upset b/c I found clothes my little one could have worn during the winter season - including pair of Nike boots that my oldest may have worn twice. I was sick! I also found two boxes of clothes that I can wear. It would have been nice to have those too, especially since enought of the clothes currently in the closet are snug in some areas.

Murphy

today was disc 11 (back/bi). I was sleeping so well and then the darn alarm went off, I SHOULD have done like I did earlier in the week and set it for later and if I slept in, then no w/o. Of course the day I set the alarm earlier is the day I COULD have slept in. That old Murphy's law, I dislike Murphy these days (I'm not talking about you Murphy). Confused now?

Ronne, I bet you get lots of good wine over there? And GS is HARD, always gives me DOMS even if I've only been away from it a couple of months. I'm not sure I'm in the best 'Wine club', I just picked from what was sent the first month (we liked Rioja from Spain on the boat and this one had one in the first batch they sent). Any recommendations?

Murphy, do you need to get on the 'clean up your eating' plan that Mary and I still have get to do? I guess this wine isn't helping

Mary, yes, wine is acquired taste, we really got into it on the cruise. took like 4 different wine classes and got to know the wine sommelier's very well. I really like Riesling too but learning to appreciate the reds. Beer, yucky!

vickie, how are your w/o's going?

Mary, are you going back to work next week? Did you enjoy your week alone? My boys are on spring break next week, may go skiing, will see.

Hi all

Murphy - The flooding sounds pretty bad. Shame about the boxes - it's so annoying when you find stuff you could have used. Take it easy on the run!

Lisa - the shelves here are groaning - it's hard to know what wine to choose. I've gone back to French wine - it's not as heavy as Australian. I do like a nice Rioja as well. Gamay is a nice soft red. When we're in France we just drink whatever cheap stuff is in the supermarket and it's always nice! I opened a Bouches du Rhone last night which was lovely (by the way, I know nothing about wine, just what I like!!) Glad you got a lie-in this morning.

Mary - I'm also a beer girl - love my San Miguel! A manicure - what a treat!

I did GS Legs today - I really like that one because it is tough but doesn't make me want to give up. Got an ill DD at home today - she's going on a school trip for a week on Monday so she needs to get better!
Have a good weekend, everyone.

Hi girls! Today was the rower and TM. DH is also off today we might go see a movie while the kids are in school. Either Hall Pass or Cedar Falls or Rapid, can't remember! Lisa, love to sleep in! Glad you took advantage of the opportunity! Ronne, hope your little one feels better! Murphy, hope you aren't swimming over there! We are digging! Did anyone see the news? In Japan? Those poor people, I can't imagine the horror. Well, I will talk to you all on Monday! And yes, I do have to go back to work! Darn it! Mary

Ronne, you are much more experienced in wine than me (and loaded with it). We had a wine tasting on the cruise, we liked the Australian wines (Shiraz) 2nd and then the French Bordeaux 3rd. U.S. came in last in our taste tests :) I think I've read the best wine is the one you like, not what someone else may like. That's why I thought a wine club may be the way to go. I'm jealous of you getting to pick up French wine for cheap!
