40's - week of 1/13/13

Cathlete
So last night it got late, I decided to save my legs and did LICh instead of Ride. Today is a leg mish-mosh, back later to report in.

Jody, re: Kohls shopping trips....went for slippers...the ones that didn't hurt my nail-less toes were falling apart, so had to find more like them...never found them at Kohls but did find some jeans and leggings, then I had to buy tops to go with the leggings (didn't have too many that were designed to wear with leggings). Plus I had a 30% off coupon! So let's see, 3 jeans, 2 leggings (for work), 2 casual leggings (for home), 3 sweatshirt (for home), 4 tops (for the work leggings), and for DH 2 lightweight casual pants (like Addias) and 1 legging he claimed he needed for layering warmth. All that for about $210, then got $40 in Kohls cash that I gave DIL. I started out thinking I needed to buy a bit bigger size (boo) since I've gained, but instead kept with the same size and am using the new clothes as incentive to get it off again. I know I can do it, I just have to get committed. For me, since I have such a sitting down desk job I need to keep movement in throughout my day.

Good Morning,

I am seeing some amazing results from Xtrain so far but my body isn't happy with it I will definetly need to do some yoga today to stretch things out. DH and I went to Menards and bought new door and drawer pulls to update the cabinets a little and then bought a new stool seat and cover for my bathroom still have wood ones that were on it when we bought the house.

Lisa-sounds like a good day.

Hi girls! Rest day today, looked at the calendar, haven't taken a day off since Christmas! It's those new videos, couldn't resist them! Lisa, sounds like you got some bargains. I do like to shop! Bargains are always my goal. The other day we went to Marshall's, i FINALLY got all matching silver ware! On sale, I feel like a grownup. Roxie, when we sold our last house, we buried a St. Joseph statue by the front door, upside down, facing the direction we wanted to go. The house sold in 5 weeks. Sounds weird, but it does work. Catholic thing! Jody, how did yesterday go? Did you just get pictures or did they video tape you? Give us the details! Ronne, have your tried the new ones? Murphy, are the kids working out to the new ones with you? We have a bowling thing today and a basketball game. Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday! Mary

Hi all

Been reading, just not posting! So will try to keep up!

Lisa - that's great news about DIL (and your favourite shop as well, how convenient - it's very thoughtful of you to plan to spend lots of money on things you like with her :D!!) Glad you're on the upward hormone swing at the moment as well :)

Jody - haven't checked out the video yet but I will do. You'll have to keep us posted on how it goes. Your schedule sounds like a nightmare. I kind of understand how it happens though, as my work is a bit like that. I'll think, oh I've got time to take on another project, then someone will ask me to take on something urgent that I don't want to turn down, then the thing that I'm already working on will hit problems and take more time and all of a sudden from just pootling along, I'm full on.

Mary - I haven't done a full workout yet. Yesterday I did the 1RMs for all the Bis and Tris work. It didn't take too long so I added on the 100 rep challenge for tris. I used 5lbs and it hurt! Got through it tho', 40, 20, 20, 20. Tris are a bit sore today but not bad.

Roxie - good to hear you're getting good results. I'll make sure to add lots of stretches in. That's what I've enjoyed about the more recent Cathe DVDs, she's putting longer stretches in.

Today was a quick trip to town (nothing exciting), and lots of housework. Off to London early tomorrow morning, going to stay with a friend in the outskirts tomorrow night, as I'm in the studio both Mon and Tues. Will be back to report how I get on with CST on Weds, my first full Xtrain workout!

I did standing only of disc 5 Legs, then strength only of disc 6 cardio legs going as heavy as Cathe. My legs felt worked and then added on hip thrust 100 rep challenge...saw Amanda was using 45lbs for that so thought I better drop to 40lbs and boy am I glad I did! I still had 20 reps to go when Amanda was done. Those that have done this challenge what weight did you use?

Roxie, not sure I 'see' results....I'm blind when it comes to seeing minor changes, but my muscles sure feel worked good! I did 'see' in the dressing room mirror that I REALLY need to get serious about losing some weight.

Mary, actually I only like shopping with someone, not a whole lot by myself. I did enjoy getting a young girl's perspective on things....with having boys I've never had that. Congrats on the silverware set, funny how certain things make you feel like you've 'made it'. Just wait until those kids are out of the house, it's a very different feeling.

Not sure what's on tap for today yet. Sushi for sure....is that good for my diet? I know, I know, the rice isn't the best, but why are Japanese people slim then?

I was thinking of doing another bd dvd today, maybe still will but not too likely.

Mary, my Joseph got decapitated when we pulled him out of the ground (my aunt tried to bang the dirt off of him) but I glued it back on gave him a place of honor in our new home. Roxie maybe you should try it.

Well, I worked from 10 pm to 530 this morning and was supposed to do a similar thing tonight but I called in. I bet you could count the number of times I've missed school or work over a lifetime on both hands, maybe one hand. There is just no way I can work a night shift and come back and do a 12.5 hour clinical day 3 hours later, no sleep. I don't know if they will keep me on and I could just do Sat nights. But my clinical time is like a long job interview, can't be fluffing that up with groggy, etc.

Roxie Yea! for x train results and stuffles, Ronne have fun with it on Wed and safe travels, this week, too. My first workout is Tues. Some of the workouts will be with the creator of the program!

Lisa, dressing room trips are so disheartening when you are in a bad place with your body. I am sick of my muffin top and oogie thighs but they are going bye bye soon.

Waves to Murphy~ I hope your dvd vcr computer stuff gets resolved. How frustrating!

I didn't get a stretch in but I got busy cleaning the kitchen cabinets and walls DD is coming over to help me get stuff cleaned up for pictures. We have to find a storage shed to get most of the furniture out of the house. I am seeing and feeling my results from this program like now wearing size 4 in jeans and I can feel the changes, I am making in my body. I got some gs time tonite.

CTX UB done today. My neck has still been bothering me so took it easy. Another cold day here, was dreading going into work (no work to do), then heard on the TV that Boulder was on accident alert because of icy patches and I looked outside and there was light covering of snow on the street....yep, good enough reason to work from home today. Still it's a pain being tethered to the work computer.

Roxie, all that cleaning/packing is bound to count as a w/o.

Jody, I could not imagine that schedule and I'm sure you will lose your oogles soon!

Ronne, what do you do in the studio?

Hi girls! Today did premix from AT, a filling fell out and I have to get to the dentist. Lisa, can you walk today after that leg workout yesterday? Enjoy your day at home. Roxie, packing is kind of cathartic, cleaning everything and getting rid of what you don't need. Jody, I saw the creator on that video, she had a body to die for! Good luck with your schedule, thank goodness your girls are a bit older so they can help you. Ronne, enjoy London today! Murphy, hello to you! I better get moving, Mary

Good Evening,

I spent the entire day cleaning cupboards, floors, baseboards, and above the stove I am exhausted. Tonite I will do Xtrain Burnsets Chest, Shoulders and Back. Dh got us a storage unit to get rid of some of the boxes and furniture. I got cuddle time with GS last evening while his parents were doing stuff.

Lisa-sounds like a good reason to stay home. I don't see changings but I can feel changes and I am wearing a smaller jean.

Jody-that workout looks tough.

Mary-I am getting tired of all the packing and cleaning.

Stil have computer issues. Did hard strike premix with the boxing gloves. Those gloves are way too sweaty. I plan on returning them

Mary/Roxie-we did the St. Joseph thing too, as did my parents and sister.
Lisa-I think I have used that fun house mirror in the dressing room.
Ronne-I too noticed the longer stretches. They all seem more "relevant" to the program-more leg stretches for the leg programs.
Jody-get some rest.
Waves to all.

Please, just read my mind regarding my clinicals and program (not the new exercisey one). Over and over I just want to cry about it, I think I will.

No w/o today, slept in a bit, off to the boredom called an office I go.

Jody, Are you saying it's like it was last go round? As much as some things change, other things just seem to putter along the same (when they could need a change!)

Roxie, I need to do an overhaul here too....I've been doing in bits and pieces (finally got rid of DH's suits from the 80's...haha)

Mary, how's the tooth?

Murphy, I hate computer issues....and that's from someone in the computer industry...if I could have a do-over I would be......

Ronne, can't wait to hear what you think of Xtrain. Hope London was good to you.

Hi everyone! Today was legs and the hip thrust challenge. Jody, one thing at a time, one day at a time. You can do this, the first weeks always seem overwhelming. You got this, you really do! Lisa, glad about the sleep. How's the sister doing? Murphy, did you try weighted gloves instead? I would think your hand would be a sweaty mess in those gloves! Ronne, tell us what you think tomorrow! Roxie, it's Tuesday! Enjoy the day off! Tooth is ok, he accidently hit the inside of my cheek with some instrument, that's making me crazy! Kids out early today, they have midterms this week, they were a little nervous. I better go enjoy the quiet while I have it! Mary

Good Morning,

Just before I left the house this morning I knocked over my coffee thermos and got coffee and creamer all over the floor, cabinets and countertops not a good start to my day. I will do Cardio Leg Blast Premix 1 + core 1.

Jody-sounds like are just as overwhelmed as I am.

Lisa-have fun at boredsville.

Mary, try oil pulling. Works good on inside mouth sores. Swish for 10 min with sesame or coconut or olive oil. Google it too

Roxie, my day started crappy too. Boiled over oatmeal, no water in nespresso, no wonder the cup of coffee was so low. I think deep down inside knew it was going to be a bad day

Hello, hello, hello

Back at home again.

Lisa - I was doing audio recordings for an English course. Not particularly glamorous but good.

Roxie - oh, after all that cleaning! I bet the air turned blue!

Mary - ouch! I bet that hurts. Getting to the dentist is nerve-wracking enough without him accidentally whacking you!

Jody - it sounds like you're absolutely full on. Take a deep breath - and drop anything that isn't working for you!!!

Well, I'm reporting in with my first full Xtrain workout: CBS Disc 1. Glad I did the 1RMs cos it did help with choosing my weights. The only one I was really out on was the swing hammer things on the ball - I went with 10lbs and could barely squeak out 12. Will definitely be dropping down. But overall, I was glad I'd done my 1RMs as I suspect I went heavier in a few places where I wouldn't have done. I liked the workout, good pace. And once I was into it I didn't even notice what the crew were wearing. I felt like a proper gym worker, counting out my reps and trying to make it through. Good start. See what the good fairy DOMS may bring in the next few days :D!

Good Morning,

I didn't get a workout in yesterday I came home from work and started cleaning out the basement closet so he could at least measure then my twin 4 year old nephews were dropped off so my SIL could take her son to wrestling practice he is also 4 and had I known that both of them were sick I would have said no. Today is Burn Sets Bis and Tris and then Cardio Leg Blast after I am done getting ready for the realtor.

Ronne-that was a good workout Burn Sets is a little tougher because you repeat the exercises 3 times.

Bad night with sleeping with my neck problem, I really need to back off UB w/o's :( I like those. I've always had problems there so just the slightest muscle pull really sets it off. So I did Ride today, you know what? I think I'm starting to like spinning. Hoping it helps my hips whittle down (I imagined them melting off as I spun :) Yesterday I did do my 2 mile festival walk around work and Core Max seg2

Ronne, well you job sounds better than mine! We are in a REALLY slow period. I sense a furlough coming up soon. I did absolutely NOTHING while I sat there 8 hrs yesterday. Got a lot of a book read and glared at the girl across the way sneezing, coughing, blowing. I better not get sick! Tomorrow I guess I'll endure the torture again. Where else can you make $250 a day to do nothing? Rant over.

Roxie, wow, sounds like you got a lot done! No wonder you are in a size 4, doing all that cleaning out AND working out. BAM!

Mary, did you try the oil pulling?

Jody, I see you zipping around out there

Murphy, how's that computer?
