40s trick or treat week -- BOO!!

Did LBB. I got most of it done but then my assistants came downstairs. I could not focus on the floor work - what I need the most. Anyway, preparing for Hurricane Sandy, say a prayer for us on the east coast.

Murphy

Good Morning,

Today is a stretch day after my devil 3 year old nephew leaves, DH volunteered us to watch him for a couple of hours. I am starting my recovery week which means more cardio and only light wts with some stretching thrown in.

Murphy-saying prayers for you.

Lisa-nice title.

Did meso2 wk 4 sh/tri/bi, it was a pretty quick w/o but I sweated more than I would have liked. I have to do my hair tonight for my quick getaway tomorrow morning to get into work at an ungodly hour (for me that is to be there at 7:30).

Murphy, looks like it will be bad for you. Hearing more rain than wind (I finally watched the news). I don't really love the floorwork in LBB, actually I'm liking floorwork less and less these days, that probably means I should do it more!

Roxie, I did Walmart on Friday and never made it to the mall (I needed to get to the mall to get my glasses ordered). Did you ever make it?

Mary, how did DD do?

Waves to Ronne and Jody.

So here is something fun. Was wondering what everyone did in high school as extracurricular activities and did that impact what you did in life? I'll go first. I was on yearbook staff, I wanted to be editor but the girl that was there a yr longer than me got it (I'm sure I would have done a better job than she did) so I settled for Honors Editor. Was treasurer of National Honor Society (always liked working with money and got good grades). Failed my computer class horribly ( a D! I never had one of those ever!) (the teacher had it in for me since I goofed off my senior year). What did I end up doing in life? Computer programmer for IBM. LOL Computers were hot at the time I graduated, otherwise I may have ended up as some kind of editor but more likely a secretary since my parents couldn't afford paying for college. The only other job I had prior to IBM was as a bookkeeper....I loved that job.....again I like working with money.

Hi girls! Today did YR. Murphy, stay safe. Thinking of you. Well, DD didn't make it. Heart breaking. Thank you for the good thoughts. Lisa, I didn't do too much! I worked after school, 3 days a week, took most of my time, then I had to do weekends. Roxie, tell DH good luck at the new job tomorrow and I hope he makes some new friends! Jody, good luck on your test tomorrow! Ronne, how was your weekend? Have to run, we have a band concert this afternoon. Rainy and windy here, probably no where like Murphy tho, talk to you tomorrow, Mary

Murph I hope you guys stay safe and dry, didn't you have a lot of damage last year along w/ no power? I hope the impact is minimal with Sandy.

Mary, sad face. Thanks for test wishes, I'll let yall know.

Lisa, I never participated in or tried out for anything in hs. I was the quiet kid who never spoke, nose in a book all the time. My mom was gone on weekends so I was alone except for work. I think I got Fs in chem, math and gym. So I ended up an attached mom, homeschooler who teaches chem, math and bellydances and does Cathe. And I can't keep my mouth shut most of the time. ha

Roxie, you are funny when it comes to your nephew.

Ronne, Lisa didn't scare you with the title did she? : D

Did Travel Fit this morning. Upper body was on the schedule, but all of my heavy weights are covered in preparation for the storm. I am trying to think of dvd's w/o too many weights. Maybe S&G. AB?

Jody - yes we had some damage from the last storm. We had some flooding in the basement, a few inches. It was manageable.

Murphy

Hi all

Bit spaced today so forgive me ... On my own most of the weekend and till tomorrow with DD and DH away. A bit weird ...

Murphy - keeping my fingers crossed for you - sounds scary.

Jody - good luck with your test.

Mary - sorry about your DD. I've got a sporty DD as well and I know what it's like. They recently split them into different groups for PE at school and she was desperate to be in the top group - she made it thank goodness!

Lisa - Good question! Well, I didn't do an awful lot outside school really. I played classical guitar till about 14/15 (and have recently taken it up again after a gap of 30 years!!). School didn't really have a lot of clubs and stuff, it just wasn't organised like that then. I guess the funny thing would be that I really hated PE and would do anything to get out of it. In my last two years, I scheduled driving lessons for every PE class! And here I am, so many years later, working out 5 days a week and most people think I'm a lunatic!

Roxie - sounds like a nice week!

Got my week off to a good start with Afterburn - did the Double Trouble premix, you go through everything once and then repeat.
Finally, bit the bullet and ordered Xtrain. I don't really need it ... also ordered a resistance tube as I saw it used in one of the pics.

Hey, big news!! We're planning our holiday for next summer and we're going to ... (drum roll) California!!! We're hoping to do a roadtrip of about 16-18 days. So if any of you have got any good advice/recommendations, they would be gratefully received!!!

Good Morning,

Back to DH getting up at 2:30 in the morning so time to readjust my sleep schedule. Tonite is the elliptical and if I have time KCM Cardio Quick Fix for Murphy.

Murphy-thinking of you and your family today, I hope you do not get hit to hard.

Jody-good luck on the test.

Mary-maybe next year she will make the team.

Lisa-my first 2 years of high school I didn't do anything but work my second 2 we moved to a new school and I did band twirling and cheerleading.

Hi girls! Stay safe Murphy, it looks scary on the news. We will get your leftovers tomorrow and Wednesday, I don't think there will be any trick or treating here! Today did a Jari Love one, lean machine, have had it for a year, first time and last time! Why do I cheat on Cathe? Ronne, I have never been to California! You have so many choices tho! You had the house to yourself? For a whole weekend? Alone? Jody, sending you smart vibes! Roxie, did DH get off to work ok? Lisa, did you make it into work? It hasn't stopped raining since Friday, it's not supposed to stop until Friday or Saturday, the dog doesn't like to get her feet wet, she has me open the door, sticks her head out and comes right back in! I let her out thru the garage so she would go and she went right on the garage floor, refused to go out into the world! Can't say I blame her, I would hate to have to go outside! Have a good day, Mary

I think we have a new family member. My mom feeds strays, lures them to her "no pets allowed" condo, then panics when they call they county and they all get taken by animal control. This one probably belongs to someone, bet she stays at my mom's mostly and now they are trying to catch her. Check out her feet.

I made it into work at the ungodly hour and have my new machine mostly set up. I'm exhausted. This one will take some getting used to! I might skip w/o today.

Jody, cute kitty. 6 toes on her feet? We got a cat from a pet store once and they said it's quite common. Sadly we ended up taking her back (I think it was litter box issues, I was NOT putting up with that from a kitten). Went and got our Yoshi and she was puuurrrrfect :) Funny how things we didn't excel in we ended up doing later in life, makes me think it wasn't us but maybe the school system?

Mary, I worked in school too, I really wasn't the social butterfly. School was from 7-noon, worked after that. I never thought I did all THAT much in HS, hmmm, maybe I did more than I thought :) I never heard of that Jari Love w/o. Poor pooch!

Roxie, you sound like the most popular HS person here :)

Ronne, I was the same way with PE, however in my late teens I was a gym rat at the local gym....met lots of guys that way! Then once I broke my ankle (actually chipped the bone) doing aerobics, it just wasn't the same. The guy I was dating at the time (male model), dumped me because I was on crutches and couldn't do things like normal. I plummeted down to 90 lbs. I never really, really got back into it, I always tried, but other things in life called. Now I'm in it and I"m in it for ME, not for guys! lol

Murphy, hope all is going well with the storm.

Good Evening,

Tonite I went to the gym and did the elliptical. There is a trainer there that is doing competitions and its awesome to watch her physical transformation.

Lisa-the school had 63 students so it wasn't to tough to do that stuff.

Roxie, my HS had 1100 graduating seniors. The entire HS had well over 4000. As a result we were on double sessions, sucked as a sophomore, went to school from noon to 5, as a junior&senior 7-12. And boy, was the graduation ceremony LONG, especially since I was in the first row because of NHS. Still as uncoordinated as I am, I don't think any school would take me as a cheerleader, I'd probably hurt myself!

Hi all

Family back today, will be glad to see them! Did SM, nice and simple. Probably won't be around the rest of the week so have a good one everyone.

We made it through the storm. We actually made out pretty well. There was some water in the sunroom, but it was manageable. The basement stayed dry. We had more wind than rain and I think that helped a lot. Hurricane Irene brought more rain than wind for us. We have lots of branches and tons of leaves and it will take some time to get that cleaned up.

I just did a CCC premix. I had just finished putting the basement back together when my assistants came downstairs. I was able to do most of the workout but I had to stop a time or two to yell at them. When will they learn to just stay away and not get yelled at. Anyway, thanks for all the prayers and I am sending prayers out to those who are in the rest of Sandy's path - is that you Mary?

Mary - sorry to hear about DD and the team. I hope she is handling it okay.
Jody - good luck on the exam.
Lisa - is that you getting up at the crazy hour? Good luck.
Ronne - never been to California. It is on our list. Try to check out Disneyland or DisneyWorld, whichever is in California (one is there and the other is in Florida). What part are you going to? California is HUGE and there is a lot to see.

Waves to all.

Murphy

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is either cardio or wts but haven't decided what yet. I am going to start looking for another job this week this one is getting to be to stressful and most days boring. I can't handle the boss and her mood swings.

Murphy-glad you made it through the worst of the storm with minor damage.

Ronne-they say you need to see the MGM studios while you are there.

did STS Meso2 wk 4 CH/Back, MEso 2 done!

Murphy, glad you made it thru ok. Yesterday was my crazy early day at work (and I worked harder than I normally do!), so today at 1am as I lied awake in bed, I decided not to be very dedicated (because of the fact they are making me take more time off w/o pay), so am working from home. Will go with DH for ear appt (still trying to get his sudden right ear hearing loss treated, it's crazy) then hopefully order my new eyeglasses. Sounds like old people fun.

Ronne, I've been to CA (both northern and southern), in fact I worked on the State of CA child welfare project with the social workers (loved that project). What area will you be in? It's DisneyLAND in Southern CA, I didn't think MGM was there, Sea World is though. So, I have a bit of experience visitng CA and am happy to make reccomendations once I know where you are (typically you only visit either northern or southern), and what your interests are (kids stuff, wine, etc).

Roxie, your job sounds like mine, boring at times, but I know I can't make anywhere near what I do anywhere else. Good luck on your search. I feel like companies are holding off on decisions (at least technology decisions) until after the election when they know who will be pres.

Waves to Jody and Mary.....

Hi girls! No work or school here today. Storm was pretty loud! Lost shutters and my lilac bush! We still have power, across the street they don't, so we are pretty lucky! I did CCC, made the kids do it with me, to wear them out! I can't send them outside. Ronne, enjoy your family! Roxie, how did DH like his new job? Good luck with your search. Jody, that cat is adorable! How did the tests go? Murphy, glad you are safe. I hear the mayor of Atlantic City is arguing with Chris Christie, he sounded mad on the news! Lisa, I hope DH is ok! That would be scary! DH was at station yesterday, they had so many runs he was only there for a total of 2 hours, he's exhausted. Lots of flooding, trees and power lines down. Have a good day! Mary

I should have included my 2.5 mile walk/run yesterday as my workout. I'm pretty skimpy on workouts lately, I hate to not post them. Dance later?
Mon test was good, today's was ok, too. Read and outline text--> A's. Tribal council tomorrow, clinicals next week- new phase of awkward. New kitty to vet on Fri- she may have parasites or something, "smelly cat smelly cat, what are they feeding you?"

Murphy and Mary, wow, you two getting in storm workouts, good for you. I feel like a whiny wimp. Wah, I'm tired, wah, no time, wah, I have to study....

Ronne, I've been to CA once, northern. BF and I flew into LA and did a weekend at Six Flags Magic Mountain It was so much fun.

Roxie, I'm job hunting too. I need more than my part time tutoring at college. I'm applying for telemetry tech. I've taken course recently, know it solidly, I just need someone to give me a chance.

Lisa, when you come home today you can start a puzzle, lol, that sounds like a nice winter afternoon. Speaking of winter, its a freezing 65 out there today.
