40's Super-Fit in September

Ah, finally a little warmer. I used to like the cool weather but not with these shoulder knots that form now when my muscles are too cold! Anyways, I walked dogs 3.5. miles then spinning for 60 min.

Murphy, shame on DH! Maybe schedule change is hard for him?

Jody, I don't have as sore legs/hips from spinning as I did when I started (thank goodness it interfered with my sleep!). I had a hard time with 2 risers to get my toe down to the ground, my knees just don't like it too much.

Hello! Today did premix from AT, did a little step, see how I feel later! Busy today, food shopping, cleaning, getting ready for week, church. I want some quiet, boring time! Lol. Jody, do you have to rotate shifts a lot? That is so brutal not having a regulate schedule, that's why your a zombie! It is nice to have someone to hang out with, especially if you like to do the same stuff. Murphy, were the beaches pink in Bermuda? That is one island I haven't been to. Lisa, I have never done 2 risers, step is challenging enough without adding to the torture! Ronne, how was your weekend? Just made reservations for little ones birthday in October, we are going to New York, Peak n Peak, the have an adventure area with zip lines and obstacle courses in the trees. Looks like so much fun! I have never tried any of it, excited and kind of scared! Talk to all tomorrow! Mary

Hi everyone

Mary - that sounds like a great birthday trip. They'll love it, we have those sort of places over here and DD is always asking to go. Hope you don't get any repercussions from the step.

Lisa - those handana things are pretty nifty. I like the way it says you can you use them for 'nasal drip'. I'm always running to get tissues! (TMI!)

Murphy - that sounds like a full-on workout. Hope the kids are back in their usual sleep routine. :)

Jody - you're all over the place with the shifts, aren't you? I hope you start to get regular hours. I hadn't realised you were doing the hour premixes. I never do them, so forget they exist!

Had a great weekend. On Sat night we went out for a surprise wedding anniversary dinner with friends. They're on 10 and we're 15 (this Thurs) so we had a joint silver celebration. DD stayed over at their house while grandma babysat and then we stayed there when we got back. The husbands had organised this a couple of months ago. Had such a nice evening with them. I stayed up till 1am chatting.
Yesterday was a pretty lazy day as you can imagine. :)
Got my workouts in though, so I'm up to date on the rotation. Did Hiit 40/20 on Sat. It was soooooo tough. Today is ME.

Good morning! Today did PLB. Ronne, that sounds like such a fun Saturday night! My DH doesn't do too much planning like that, wish he would tho! Congrats on your anniversary! Lisa, I watched a little of the broncos last night. Thought of you, then the game just put me to sleep! Murphy, did the kids get to bed at a better time last night? Jody, snorkeling sounds fun! Have to run into work to do assignments for my students, have a memorial service, mom of my uncle's wife, I think she was over a 100! I get to get the gray out of my hair too, hope a good day for all, Mary

I totally wore myself out already today. Was up early so did Athlete Training before the dog walk and then walked 4.3 miles.

Mary, how did you feel after the little step you did? Glad the Broncos put you to sleep, I don't really watch.

Ronne, what a fun weekend, and the hobbies planned it? Wow! LOL about the nasal drip, that's one problem I don't have too much of. I did walk by the middle school and saw one of my DS's old band teacher and chatted with him (the paths cross over the middle school property), he was sweating up a storm, more than me! Must be the humidity again, gah! How will I hold up in Daytona beach?

Jody, how many hours are you working a week? Sounds like a lot!

Hi all, I did Circuit blast this morning. I know Ronne has this one and I ordered it recently. Well, I actually did it in two parts cuz I ran out of time the first go around and I was giving it a strong effort, too.

Ronne, that sounds like a super nice weekend for you guys. Weird that your DVD player came back to life but nice!

Mary, snorkeling was nice. The beach is about 6 miles from me or 10 to the one where you can snorkel. No football energy in my house til Superbowl and then its a maybe. Are the kids liking their classes so far?

Lisa, you might melt once you hit Orlando. I mostly love it. I walked tonight and it was warm and there was a beautiful moon behind the palm trees. Are we going to have thermostat wars? : O I'll bring some sweats, no worries.

Hello

Jody - Do you mean Circuit Max? The old one? That one I find really tough and don't do very often. I do like Circuit Blast though.

Lisa - that's impressive, AT then a dog walk. I think it's the first time ever that the men have planned something! Won't you be working out with air conditioning in Florida?

Mary - sounds like you've got a lot on. Do you do hands-on stuff as well as teaching?

Another blast from the past today, I did an hour of ASC3. Really enjoyed it, though I did lose my way a couple of times. I'm quite enjoying having to sub all the cycle workouts in the rotation.
Going to the theatre tonight. It's a secret show, it's backstage at the theatre and that's about all I know!

Yes, Circuit Max! I'm glad you said it was tough, I was pushing myself! i don't know asc3? Theater sounds mysterious but fun!
Had to post my procrastination for the morning- (which in itself is a procrastination). I was sitting on the floor on my workout mat next to my step petting kitty this morning with my feet straddling this guy, I thought it was a string to one of her toys (in my pre coffee fog). I went to toss it and realized what it was. She had killed it so he wasn't moving.
Pic not showing up? Oh well, its a baby snake, I think a scarlet king.

additional edit to add workout. KCM Wts #2 plus abs, so just the 30 min plus 2 mile coconut walk ( I picked up a coconut and carried most of the way (warm up for my biceps and potentially a post w/o rehydration, ha ha)

Hi all. I did a premix of ME. I had to cut some stuff b/c short on time. Went a little heavy to make good use of my time. Felt good but part of what got cut was the ab portion - the one thing I need to make sure I get done some pont today.

So, I had a meeting last night and I get home after the kids' bedtime. Was anyone in bed? NO. Was any showered? Now. Were any lunches made? No. Dinner eaten? Yes. Dishes cleaned? No. So, I come home and now have to clean, make lunches and etc. I was pretty pissed. I finally get to bed and DH snores through the night. Ugh. Okay, rant over.

Ronne - congrat's on the anniversary. I am not sure if my DH will make silver...
Lisa - AT is one of my favorites.
Jody - a snake, yikes.
Mary - yes, the sand is pink but a light pale pink - just enough to say it is pink and not off white. It was not a bubble gum pink.

Waves to all.

Murphy

Today was a 3.9 mile dog walk and then LBB.

Murphy, I've never clicked with Athlete Training, but after yesterday I think I have a new favorite, it helped now that I gave myself permission to go one level lower in weights and risers! Awesome job on you going heavy! I'm decided today that I'm back to where I was for legs, but UB, I feel I'll never even get close.... I'm hoping since only legs are what I can work the most means that since I'm using that large muscle group so much means I'll lose more weight? Ah, dreaming....

Jody, I think I would have had a heart attack in my pre coffee fog if I stumbled upon that! As far as AC wars, I used to like it cooler than I do now (because of muscle contraction in shoulder), so hopefully I won't freeze you out too much.

Ronne, AC or no AC, I'll sweat. I now know why I was so excited to move FROM Florida :) I did joke around to DH about the chilly weather and how that muscle doesn't like it, still, said we may need to be the snowbirds we loathed in Florida (I know Jody knows what a snow bird is...... it's those people that live in FL for the winter and up north for the summer. )

Mary, you sound busy as always, glad you washed that gray away!

Hello! Today did a premix from CF. Jody, I would have run from the house screaming! And probably wet myself! Ronne, isn't the Amy Bento? Isn't it complicated? I could never get her step, too much for my little mind! Murphy, did DH get apiece of your mind? I would have been slamming stuff around......loudly. Everyone would know how pissed I was! Lisa, still warm here, temp is supposed to start dropping Thursday, I'm happy! Just think one more month and you and Jody will be together! And with Cathe! I'm turning green! Mary

OK, I've about had it with this sweating. I've been thinking it's hot flashes (even though I'm on HRT), now after reading more, I'm convinced. I'm in hot flash hell. Some interesting articles say Gabapentin prescribed off label can help. I have some from when they were figuring out my neck stuff and was saving it for Daytona beach since it helps me sleep (I sleep awful in hotels), I think I'm going to start taking it at night and see if I can get out of hot flash hell (at least during the night, and get some sleep.... I'm back to not sleeping well about 30% of the time). Hoping I don't have to go to the GYN before my next annual. I can't believe no one else is experiencing this!?!? Mary, Jody?

Hi

Lisa - no sweating to report here. I do get hotter at different times of the month but it doesn't keep me awake. You give me so much to look forward to! :p

Mary - ooh, I've not done any CF for ages. You made me laugh! I'm loving this warm autumn weather.

Murphy - well done on the weights. I think I would have been pretty pissed off as well.

Jody - wow, scary! At least, it was dead! Yeah, like Mary said, it's a complicated Amy Bento step. Coconut walk sounds fun! :)

PP and Ab Circuits, Weight & Plates done. Really felt the abs, never done it with hand weights before.
Had a great evening last night. The play was really good, and the way the stage was set up, we were right up close. At one point, one of the actors was sat next to my friend, ranting! Then there was a q and a with the director and some of the cast. BF and I went to the pub after and discussed it for ages.

I did 60 min of spinning, on that endorphin high, burned 502 calories, then since it's rainy this morning, did XT bi/tri, I hope to walk the dogs this afternoon if only for a short walk. I'm meeting my BFF for lunch (she's treating me for my birthday), so will binge a bit, hence why I pushed it today :)

Let me explain my hot flashes. They've gotten worse these last 6-8 weeks or so. I have 2 cups of morning coffee, by the end of the 2nd cup, I'm drenched and have to change clothes (coffee is a trigger), then when I'm shopping and dealing with sales people (a bit of anxiety for me), I sweat, anxiety/stress is a trigger. Then when I go to into the sewing room (it's a bit warmer in there as it's south facing), all of a sudden I get so hot and boom. So I read a warm room is a trigger. Then during the night I've been having to change nightgowns at about 1am. I thought maybe it was the heating pad I have on my left shoulder blade, but I've always done that since surgery. Now I think it's just how my body is reacting to the warmer temp. What is a hot flash? The hypothalamus in your brain that responds to temps, misinterprets subtle temperature changes (because of hormones, meno, etc) and thinks you are too hot so goes bonkers and puts you into a full blown cooling mode, hence sweat. Well, that's what I found out from internet. So, last night slept good (thank you Gabapentin ) and didn't have to change my nightgown. Will see how it goes.

I did Ride today, 30 min premix. Did a little more than I usually do - I am trying to go a litttle harder each time, build up the endurance. I have another 1/2 pound or so to go and I will have lost the weight I gained from the cruise. Yippee.

Waves to all.
Murphy

Hi all! Today did KCM SS LB, it was ok. Have to run and get kids, just wanted to say hello to all! Running behind! Again! Mary

Mornin'

Mary - I can feel the breeze as you race through!

Murphy - good news on the weight loss.

Lisa - you are a workout queen at the moment. Hope you have fun with your BFF. The flashes sound awful, it must be driving you mad. Hope you can get them sorted out. (Language note, over here we call them hot flushes for some reason.)

Had to cut short my workout as a roofer wanted to come round to assess our extension roof. I was still red-faced and sweaty when he arrived. Did AB In the Ring premix. 45 mins in all so still a decent workout.
Got to pop into town again on errands, then DH and I are going to eat out tonight while DD's at gymnastics, for our anniversary.

Rest day today. I was tired yesterday and then this morning I meant to rest for a few more minutes and the next thing I knew, a half-hour passed. I guess I really needed it.

Be back tomorrow.

Murphy

Hello! Today did Cathe live, KB & barre, it was fun! Ronne, Happy Anniversary! Enjoy dinner! Murphy, sometimes we just need some sleep! Jody, are you a working fool? Lisa, it's chilly here today! There is no rhyme or reason to my hot flashes. I just try to talk myself out of them! Have open house to meet the teachers at the high school this evening, have to get moving. Tomorrow, football again, will make it back Saturday! Mary

Chilly, grey day today :( I did do PRS1 step mix PM and that's it, no dog walk today (I did take them yesterday for 2 miles). My upper back is super sore, I must have over did it a bit yesterday (I'm so tired of hurting between the shoulder blades... this is more like bad DOMS, aggravated by the cold weather and I think it got chilled during my workout), and with the cold weather I just felt curling up on the couch and eating, thankfully I only curled up on the couch, no major eating!

Murphy, good job on losing cruise weight, its so much easier losing weight you've just acquired vs weight you've been carrying around for awhile!

Ronne, my reign as workout queen will be short lived with no walks because of the weather and I think I better take it easy (on my UB), and Saturday I'll probably be doing stuff with DH (nothing fun or interesting, just will be happy to have him back), 6 day business trips are tough, normally he's gone 4 days

Mary, chilly here too, and wind out there. I'm not ready for this, I may not come back from Daytona Beach! lol
