Got groceries (there was nothing in the house as haven't had a chance to shop since we got back from skiing).
Jody, Yes the k9kidney yahoo group. You can take the level of intervention to what YOU want. They do not judge you, just try to help. One of the gals also has a FB group called CRF Dogs, she is great. I'm guessing your dog's numbers aren't too high right now, so doing just little things as preventative steps is all that is needed. When it's time then if you decide to kick it up with supplements, subq fluids, etc, it's YOUR choice for YOUR fur baby. I did things I never thought I would, but as long as my dog had a quality life (loved her walks still) I did what I could--after I put her to sleep, I actually had a "friend" tell me it was about time----puuuulllease, did I really need that guilt trip? Now that it's Yoshi's turn (she has high kidney numbers but not to where I really have to do anything), anyway, with Yoshi, I WON'T do all I did for Maddy-dog. Not because I love her less, but because for her, I don't feel jumping thru all those hoops is right for her---she's lead a full life (and keeps going---she's a tough one). Right now just giving her subQ fluids for the dehydration but I will NOT do it long term. Poor baby, when I put the needle in today I must have hit something, she bled and meowed real loud. Carolyn, the CRF dog lady, knows we are doing nothing heoric for Yoshi and supports my decision. Wow, what a soap box I got on
Roxie, don't beat yourself up too bad. I'm afraid to get on the scale!
Mary, woo hoo for dd! Maybe it was some menopausal thing....I know alcohol can bring on hot flashes for me too. I normally do NOT drink like this! It isn't everyday you celebrate 33 yrs in a company (and we joked that it was my celebration too for 24 yrs)---a total of 57 yrs for us in this company----wow!
Gonna eat lunch, and hopefully get a nice nap in, that partying wore me out! Good thing you only celebrate a retirement one in a lifetime
