40s - spring chickens

Ronne, I think the STS weight ones are perfect for downloads since they don't have premixes. I'm so impressed with your technical ability :) Now then if you do decide the iPod, remember they will take up room. this is the iTouch that you can get apps on, right? if so, I recommend the app Air Video (there is a free version and then a $3 version --can't remember the difference in versions, but like anything free, it's like a trial). You put Air Video on your computer and then on the iPod, that way the workouts stay on your computer and you can play them thru AirVideo on your iPod and not take up any room on your iPod. HTH

I wanted to sleep a little longer so I did a Tracie Long today. I still am undecided on her. The work out was okay for what I needed but I feel like I really did not do anyting. I did not work up a sweat but it was weights for 20 mintues. Maybe I should have gone heavier. ???? I still did not buy her new ones and I don't think I will. I may try someo f her older stuff that I really liked and see how I feel about them now.
Oh, BTW, DD is doing better. She is being spoiled by my parents and sounded well on the phone. On the sad side, my parents were to bring her back on Friday but now may wait until Saturday. :-( Oh, I am talking to DH again. He kept his distance and let me calm down - maybe he is not a complete idiot after all - but close. :)

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes for DD and all the hugs. I really appreciate it.

Mary - I agree with you on the push-ups. 182 is just crazy, especially right out of the box. Funny, I was thinking of doing STS again but with DD being away, I am just not in the mood to do much of anything.

Hi all

Murphy - glad to hear DD is on the mend, even if she's going to be away a bit longer. And also that DH isn't a complete idiot!
The new Tracie Long's don't look that great to me. Too short and expensive for a start.

Lisa - thanks for the techie info :)! I've just got an ordinary iPod (DH has got an iTouch) but that's useful to know. I was thinking I would just synch the week's worth of workouts at a time so they don't take up too much space. Still not sure if I'm going to go for it, who needs that many workouts?!!

Today was CCC. If I'm into cardio, I might as well go for it, right? Well, I'd been dreading it but I forced myself to do it and enjoyed it!

today I ran 5 miles. I thought to myself, which is the easier workout, athletic step or running, I chose running, I can't believe it, I just didn't want a lot of jumping

Ronne, boy o boy did you go for it! good for you!

Murphy, I'm sure that IS hard with DD away that long. How does she like being away like that? I forget, how old is this one?

Vickie, how's those knees and the workouts going? I feel I'm getting past my rough patch and hopefully start kicking it into gear, now if ONLY I could stop eating so much :)

Mary, you will probably pull ahead of me with STS, I'm going to save the next leg workout for Sunday since Monday will be UB, I just CAN'T do a cardio after legs, especially lately.

DH comes home tonight, I got us a bottle of wine....wine doesn't count as calories, does it?

Hi girls! Today was cardio, just did the TM and the rower. I have been trying a little running, just a half mile at a time, don't really care for it! I'll keep trying tho! Murphy, I do like Tracie, however...her videos are expensive! I am glad your daughter is feeling better and glad your husband shaped up! Lisa,5 miles! That is impressive! Ronne, CCC, I avoid! You are all impressive! I don't think you would be disappointed in STS. I wish I was mor tech smart! Lisa is! Hi to you Vickie! Have to get DD to the orthodontist! Talk to you on Friday! Mary

Mary, don't be too impressed with 5 Miles, I'm not running the whole time! I break it up with walks. Keep up with running, you may end up liking it (I love the endorphin rush), and you don't have to run the whole time for it to count! Love my cardio coach workouts for the running.

Okay, the school called and DD2 is sick - possible stomach bug. I "suggested" to DH that he take off from work and stay with DD. Funny, I did not have a problem with him this time. Maybe it was the barbell in my hand. :)

Lisa - DD1 is 3 and DD2 is 6. Yes, I started a little late.

Murphy

I did a B&G premix today. I am supposed to go running with a coworker this afternoon so I wanted to do something not too painful - what was I thinking? I do like B&G and have not done it for some time - I guess I forgot about the ten thousand lunges.

Okay, I take it back, DH is an idiot. So, yesterday he agreed to say home with DD and all was well. Last night he decides to call his mom and ask her to watch DD. I could scream. When I tried to talk to him about it he just looks at me as if to say, "what, I thought it was a good idea." So, my MIL arrived at 6 am to watch DD. I may need that group slap again.

Murphy

Hi all

Lisa - glad to hear you're human - breaking up your run with walks :D! Bet you had a nice evening with DH.

Murphy - Sorry to hear about younger DD. Sending your DH a roundhouse just from me ;)

Mary - I hate running! That's one form of cardio I just won't do. Used to go on the TM at the gym sometimes, it's just so boring!!

Today I did an old Tracy Staehle Kickbox - pretty rubbish actually. I hadn't done it for a while so thought I would try it. Will not bother again. Had a lovely long stretch after though, which I really needed.
Have a good weekend. We've got a nice quiet one for a change. Not working and will probably catch up on some jobs.

Happy Friday! I did athletic step today, I'm so proud sticking with my workouts with being sick. I was hoarse this morning and DH made fun of me, I think I've probably been hoarser prev mornings, I just had no one to talk to since DH was gone and the darn cat didn't even come visit me (she ignored me all week, maybe we both were pms'ing :)

Murphy, first of, WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING????? All I think of is pain with that one! Maybe workouts are like labor, you forget all the pain because the end result (in workout case, endorphins) are worth it? As far as DH, maybe he THINKS he's helping getting parents to watch DD? Maybe in his mind it's helping so that way he can work? I dunno, these men, it'd be easier if they thought like us higher species of women. :p:eek:;)

Ronne, I hate doing a workout and not feeling like I did anything, I guess that's why I stick to Cathe. And surprise, surprise, I felt like running again today, what is up with me? I guess I could run constant at 5.5 mph, but if I do higher with intervals, I have to catch my breath and there is nothing wrong with that!

Hi Mary what's your crazy workout today?

Vickie, are you still with us? We miss you!

Running must be in the air. I just fininshed 30 minutes of a walk/jog routine. It felt good and I feel good. Maybe I needed to run off my frustration with DH.

Lisa - I will try to give DH the benefit of the doubt. His mother was probably better anyway. This way DD could get spoiled and etc. for the day. I would like to be spoiled for the day too - DH better get to spoiling me so he can get out from under the doghouse.

Murphy

Happy Friday! I am on spring break next week! Kids are in school, I will have some alone time! Today will be disc 9, I am procrastinating! Murphy, sounds like DH is going to have a long weekend! Hope the little ones feel better. B&G and a run? Will your legs be talking to you tomorrow? Lisa, step after a run? I am glad to hear you walk a little through your run, makes me feel better! Ronne, I don't like to run at all. (usually just to the bathroom). Everyone raves about it, I want to figure out what all the fuss is about. I am having trouble figuring out tho! So far it is just painful! Hi to you Vickie. Hope everyone has a good weekend! Mary

Murphy, I hope you get properly spoiled!

Mary, I always have to push myself to run, but afterward, the endorphins are such a rush, I need to remember that feeling when I don't want to do it. My legs aren't so sore from running now that I've been doing it one day a week for the last 3 weeks. Weight work always seems to make me sore though!

I joined a wine club and just got our first 12 bottles. DH and I may just have a nice weekend after all ;)
