UPDATE:
Here's the note I'm sending work. The part I did not put in there was about exercise. Said no limitation, it's fine as long as it doesn't hurt. So, I take this to mean no hurting while doing it (we know the pain is going to stay around until it's fixed--the exercise doesn't make it hurt, it hurts no matter what!). So I think I'll still skip weights, but I think the rest should be ok. I still will not do tooo much, like maybe every other day (or when I need a shower...hahahaha) Here's the note:
Didn't learn too much more at the neurosurgeon and spine specialist today, not that I expected to. He is scheduling a MRI and Xray of the neck, guess this can take a while especially since this isn't considered an emergency. Seems insurance can make it difficult for them (do not get me started on that tangent). I have a followup appt in 3 weeks, hoping to speed that up once we have MRI in hand, but this office is quite busy so might not be so lucky on getting an earlier appt.
There have been a couple more issues that cropped up, that I thought were related, but I guess not

I'm just falling apart!
In the last week, the vertigo has been horrible (came on after I took the Flexirel) and even though that is long gone out of my system, I still have vertigo. Dr says not related, may need to go to ENT to reset the "rocks" in the ear. The other thing is right hand pins and needles numbness....yep, carpal tunnel has struck again.
OK, so back to my neck issue. He did many tests, squeezing, pushing, pulling against his hand. There is noticeable weakness in left arm. Does not hurt to push on my neck. So he is thinking disc degeneration or disc herniation. So wants an MRI and Xray. I asked about drugs (of course I did). First off, he does not want to start any medication for any type of treatment (sometimes he starts off with the drug that treats restless leg syndrome-Lyrica) because of an anomaly he is seeing with my left hand that is of concern to him. He really wants to see the MRI before he does anything because of the anomaly. Hmmmmm, I didn't press any further, he probably wouldn't have said anymore anyway. Then I asked about pain killers. Told him prev doc had prescribed Percocet and Flexirel. Well, he doesn't like narcotics (Percocet), neither do I, and the Flexirel is more for muscle spasms of which I don't have any (my pain is more nerve pain). I didn't like the Flexirel anyway, made me sick (remember I'm the delicate orchid). I told him Advil seemed to help the most. So he said to stick with Advil and icing the neck and also prescribed Valium (yea, I like that stuff!, Hey I'm starting to like this dr more and more. LOL).
So, another long wait, I just so hope this problem gets fixed for good. Since I've dealt with this for years (it's always resolved on it's own), I want it fixed because I think it's just going to get worse the older I get! How's that for life preparing you to enter your 50's????
