40's - put Humpty Dumpty back together

Hi all

Lisa - you post here because if you didn't WE WOULD HUNT YOU DOWN! :D (Suddenly come over all zombie film for some reason!) Sending you hugs and understanding.

Mary - that's a relief, I hate those big, unexpected bills.

Roxie - I bet you're feeling a lot better after sleep.

Jody - it's not so much the exercises themselves, it's just the look. The links you have to click on are horrible, IMO. I think I'd get bored with the repetition of the Zuzka stuff, doing things 3 or 6 times. But if it gets you moving, it's good!

BS B&T today. Pushed it a bit more. Got to pop out to buy some frozen mice for the snake.

Good Morning,

I did get BS CB&S done and then the bad stuff began. I went to walmart to get some groceries and then came home and discovered my biilfold was gone so I went back to town to check the shopping carts and they were gone. I spent the whole afternoon callinv the credit card companies to get those cancelled and then when Dh got home he took m in to town to get a new drivers liscense and that was another experience I needed my birth certicificate and marriage liscense because my social security number wasnin there to so we had to come back home to find all that information finally got the drivers liscense covered so nonleg work done. I slept good again last night and we got up Dhs sister sent a text that she got a phone call at 2 this morning from someone who founf my billfold at walmart so I need to call and set up time to meet him. Today will be bis & tris and ck25 or a walk outside its suppose to be nice.

Aw, I feel the love! I had a pretty good morning, not like the last 2. Maybe because I kept ice on neck all night long. Of course it would feel better the day I go, right? So, you all are going to kill me, but I did CSS, skipped all the weight rounds, ie, no OH press, no PU, no mtn climber...boy it felt good to have a reason to skip those! I basically did the cardio portions with the arm movements. Had awful vertigo for the stretch (even with meclizine). Just took a shower (yes for the doc Jody! you know me so well!), and I feel pretty good (except for the vertigo), but I've noticed when teh muscles are warm I feel good and when the pain flares ice is what helps most. Anyway, will see what happens, I have 3 hrs for the pain to come back before I see doc.

Roxie, what a nightmare, nice the person called. There are some nice people out there! Yay!

Ronne, eek, frozen mice? for snake? OMG, do you ever accidently cook one up for yourself?

Jody, weird cat, was he aiming for meat and instead in his haste got broccoli? Did he eat it? I'll never forget when our cat was young, she was eyeing the kids burger, she zipped up, grabbed it and made off with it, FAST! I guess she knew who to grab from! Animals are so smart and I think very instinctual...if only we could harnass that.

Mary, My bedroom is a mess of white dust from the minerals in the water in the humidifier I had ot add this winter. Hmmm, if I can't use our $300 credit with United before July I may just fly you out here! :)

UPDATE:

Here's the note I'm sending work. The part I did not put in there was about exercise. Said no limitation, it's fine as long as it doesn't hurt. So, I take this to mean no hurting while doing it (we know the pain is going to stay around until it's fixed--the exercise doesn't make it hurt, it hurts no matter what!). So I think I'll still skip weights, but I think the rest should be ok. I still will not do tooo much, like maybe every other day (or when I need a shower...hahahaha) Here's the note:

Didn't learn too much more at the neurosurgeon and spine specialist today, not that I expected to. He is scheduling a MRI and Xray of the neck, guess this can take a while especially since this isn't considered an emergency. Seems insurance can make it difficult for them (do not get me started on that tangent). I have a followup appt in 3 weeks, hoping to speed that up once we have MRI in hand, but this office is quite busy so might not be so lucky on getting an earlier appt.

There have been a couple more issues that cropped up, that I thought were related, but I guess not :( I'm just falling apart!
In the last week, the vertigo has been horrible (came on after I took the Flexirel) and even though that is long gone out of my system, I still have vertigo. Dr says not related, may need to go to ENT to reset the "rocks" in the ear. The other thing is right hand pins and needles numbness....yep, carpal tunnel has struck again.

OK, so back to my neck issue. He did many tests, squeezing, pushing, pulling against his hand. There is noticeable weakness in left arm. Does not hurt to push on my neck. So he is thinking disc degeneration or disc herniation. So wants an MRI and Xray. I asked about drugs (of course I did). First off, he does not want to start any medication for any type of treatment (sometimes he starts off with the drug that treats restless leg syndrome-Lyrica) because of an anomaly he is seeing with my left hand that is of concern to him. He really wants to see the MRI before he does anything because of the anomaly. Hmmmmm, I didn't press any further, he probably wouldn't have said anymore anyway. Then I asked about pain killers. Told him prev doc had prescribed Percocet and Flexirel. Well, he doesn't like narcotics (Percocet), neither do I, and the Flexirel is more for muscle spasms of which I don't have any (my pain is more nerve pain). I didn't like the Flexirel anyway, made me sick (remember I'm the delicate orchid). I told him Advil seemed to help the most. So he said to stick with Advil and icing the neck and also prescribed Valium (yea, I like that stuff!, Hey I'm starting to like this dr more and more. LOL).

So, another long wait, I just so hope this problem gets fixed for good. Since I've dealt with this for years (it's always resolved on it's own), I want it fixed because I think it's just going to get worse the older I get! How's that for life preparing you to enter your 50's????

Oh, one other thing, he did have me walk a line, eyes closed, one foot in front of the other. I failed miserably. Told him I couldn't do it because of the dizziness, but I could have before. So now as I sit here wondering, before when he said the vertigo was caused by the rocks in the ears because I experienced it with postitional changes, since I couldn't "walk the line" wonder if that meant something else?

maybe I wonder too much. Right now I have me a massive headache, I think from stress, I was so worried I would not do the tests right and be sent away with no help again! I'm silly, I know

also MRI ordering comments says: Evaluation for stenosis and spondylosis

Hello! Today did Squeeze, lower body (totally forgot did legs yesterday! Haha!). Guess that's why it burned so much! Lisa, he sounds like he is on the right track. Don't let your mind go to dark places and don't be googling things! Maybe being unable to walk the line is just due to the vertigo? As they say on Family Guy "it's a real disease! Vertigo, it is!". You will have answers after you get all the tests done.i wonder if you should call the ENT, they do, I think it's called Epply's maneuvers? Get the rocks back in place! Sending you good thoughts! Roxie, sounds like you had a horrible day! Ope today went better. Ronne, snake??? Is it a pet?? We have a turtle, no comparison, I know! Jody, your cat has taken on your eating habits! You are a good influence on all around you! Hi Murphy! Watched the new Pope come out on the balcony today, I couldn't believe all the people in the square! Well, have to get ready for bed, Wednesday's are always sooooo long! Mary

Hello

Roxie - what a lousy day! It's such a nightmare when that happens - all the sorting out. Bit of a strange time to phone someone!

Lisa - hang in there.

Mary - I bet you've got some good leg DOMS today! I saw the news last night with the Pope as well. It's amazing all those people in the square, screaming like a rock concert!!

Yes, we've got a corn snake called Cassandra (Cassie for short!). I've had her for 12 years. I just leave the mice out to defrost in the air so I never accidentally cook them. A few years ago, there was an electricity blackout that didn't affect all the houses in the road. So the first thing I did was go next door and ask if I could put our mice in their freezer!!

Today was AOLIH with Core 1. I love the song on the warm-up - it always gets me going.

OK, in reviewing my pain/med/exercise diary, I think I may have a connection to when the pain really flares.....seems to be happening normally 12-24 hrs after w/o (the cardio w/o that has arm movements). So, from now on, only walking, elliptical (no arms). I'm a bit concerned RIDE flared some pain up so not sure about doing that either. I had did CSS cardio parts only yesterday to get my pain up for doc, and oh boy did I! I think to ensure MRI shows something I will do similar w/o 12-24 hrs before that is scheduled and then after that only walking and elliptical.

Here is write up from last night, it was awful, just awful:
last night's debilitating pain that came on in the middle of the night and I'm not nearly as cheerful. It's bad enough having the low level chronic pain, but man, when it shoots into the lower left skull and now radiates up the left side of the skull, it has me feeling like a junkie wanting a fix as I writhe in pain. It seems an insult to have to wait for relief as we navigate the insurance nightmare. What's the pain level at worst, a 10, repeat until doc can get insurance to approve what he needs. I'm convinced I want/need surgery to fix this rather than cover it up for a few years and repeat at a later date (given my history of this type of pain coming and going over the last 30 yrs) though surgery scares me in another way. Just when you need insurance the most you have to fight for your treatment to be approved. So, I'm muddling through in a drug induced hazy state. Between the constant low level chronic pain, the dizziness, the nausea from drugs and condition, I have lost a few lbs, not the diet plan I would recommend and at this rate I may be at super model weight before it's all said and done.

Ronne, I'm still freaked out that you have a snake.

Mary, someone gave me website Otoneurology Index for vertigo. said to scroll down to home exercises, the Brandt Daroff exercise on the bed. Going to check that out.

Good Evening,

I had a great nights sleep DH said he almost checked my pulse to make sure I was alive I didn't even know he left the house. I went to my job interview this morning and it doesn't appear that I got the job oh well tomarrow is another day. Unemployment is going to call me in 2 weeks to do a phone interview. It was a gorgeous day today so I went for walk tonite and while I was on it I got to help coral a horse how many of you can say that? It is suppose to be beautiful again tomarrow so I plan on getting some sun time.

Hi, quick check in. did C,B&S of XTrain. Wanted to squeeze in some abs but was short on time. I hope everyone is okay out there. Sorry to hear about the medical issues, sending out prayers.

Murphy

Good Morning,

I have had a pretty depressing week I should have asked the dr. for something to help it out. I didn't get the job, DH doesn't want me walking outside because I might get hit by a car and DD won't let us see GS this weekend or next weekend so I have to wait until Easter I am trying to decide what the fun in live is anymore. I will do cardio leg blast whenever I get the energy to do so. I am also suppose to do HS but I will do KCM KBX instead because I need a really good kickbox workout.

Hello

Lisa - hope you got some rest this weekend.

Mary - good workout - I like that one.

Roxie - sorry to hear you're down. Hope things get better for you.

Murphy - well done on the workout!

HS Timesaver today. Nice and quick. Got quite a busy weekend ahead. Friends for dinner tomorrow night and DH's son here over the weekend.

Just got to do SC tomorrow and then week 9 is finished!

OH Roxie, I'm so right there with you :( We will get thru our life challenges. I hope to take a walk in the nice weather(no power walk mind you, base of skull pain is bearable for LIGHT walking). Don't understand the car thing.

Ronne, enjoy your weekend. I got a Kindle Paperwhite, thinking it's lighter to hold for my neck issues so hoping to read more, maybe it will be nice and I can be out on the hammock!

Murphy, get some abs in for me when you get time for them, k?

Mary, you a busy bee?

Jody, I bet you wish you were on spring break still :)

tomorrow my youngest turns 21!

Do I need to say, no w/o? :) I'm barely managing the pain level in base of skull, this nerve pain is no fun :(

Hi all! Today did AOLH, fun, I just can't stand those disc jacks at the end! I did them didn't like it tho! Roxie, sending you positive energy. Hope you feel better. You have had a lot of life changes lately, you need to give yourself time to adjust to everything that has changed. Lisa, how are you feeling? Did you here about the MRI yet? Those insurance companies hold all the cards. Ronne, have fun this weekend! Murphy, Hello! Jody, school week is done! I'm on Spring Break now! Yeah me! We have a family party tonite, hope everyone is doing ok! Mary

Good Afternoon,

I went and got a new haircut added some blonde highlights laid out in the sun for and hour and now I feel a little better. I did KCM KBX but I still want to go for a walk later.

Lisa-DH saw a little girl get run over by a car a couple of weeks ago on her way home from school so now he is paranoid.

Mary-thank you I know I need adjustment time but its just so hard sometimes to want to go on.

Ronne-I will just hang in there.

Hugs to Roxie and Lisa. Lisa I hope you get some relief from pain and answers, too. Roxie try to give yourself permission to take care of yourself and chill. I know you are putting in the time to organize plus job hunt, you deserve a little me time, also. Sounds like the sunshine helped. Mary, yea for spring break, enjoy! Anything special planned? Ronne, great job on the rotation, you are really getting it done. Murphy I got to abs today from turbobarre, I'll share if you want. I also did my Xtend class this morning at 7 freaking AM. And this eve I've just completed the Hi Lo Hiit BC pm of Intensity plus the aforementioned abs from TB which I quite like actually. I wonder, are there no bad Cathe workouts, only bad attitudes?? lol, I'm guilty.

Good Evening,

DH and I went out for supper and then I went for another walk. DH says he likes having me home when he gets home instead of at work.

Jody-I haven't worked abs all week I have been a bad girl.

I did CC6, walked only, killed me not to do the sprints. avg speed 4.2mph, 3.5 miles done, pathetic (I know I'm hard on myself). Neck pretty good, will see if even walking aggravates it.

DIL's unemployment got overturned, so she can't get that and has to pay back funds paid so far. These poor kids can't get a break.

Roxie, I'm sure he likes you at home, that's my dream job! :)

Jody, WOW on the w/o's! 7 is freaking early, especially for me lately. I feel so much more tired, I think chronic pain is exhausting.

mary, what fun is on tap for weekend? allergies are flaring up now that pollen is in the air, not sure it's worth exposure to read outside. Seriously feeling like I can't do anything, 1. can't go out in sun---skin cancer, 2- can't exercise-neck pain, 3-can't enjoy the outdoors in shade-allergies. No MRI approval yet.

Murphy, did you do abs for all of us?

Hello! Today did tonique, felt like I was punishing myself for something! Lisa, hope the neck feels ok this weekend. That's horrible about DIL! Has he heard about the job yet? Roxie, my DH likes me home too, that's part of the reason I work part time. That and he's gone so much and with the kids. Ronnie, having fun!? Jody, I would have to get up at 5 to be able to work out at 7! Takes my body that long to wake up! Sounds painful! Hi Murphy! Making a Guinness cake today, cleaning, :). Tomorrow might go to parade? I'm sure I might even find a green beer or two! Have a good day! Mary
