40's - Mother's R Special

Good Evening,

I did 55 squats before we left town this morning. I dropped DH off at the dentist office and then I went and visited my old trainer that I had last summer she was such a sweet person and she will still answer any questions I have. DH sent a text that he was done but had to go back at 1 so they could do a root canal so we spent the entire day out of town. While we were waiting for DD to get off work so we could see GS DH suggested we go for a walk so we did 3 miles in the park which was so sweet of him.

Ronne-the new KCMs are shipping just in time for me to come up with another rotation.

Hi all

Roxie - You'll have to let me know what you think of the new ones. I'm building a list!

Lisa - it's nice that you've got a dog to walk again but with none of the responsibility. Good training for grandkids! It was the old CM that's on the same disk as Cardio Kicks.

Mary - I wouldn't bother. The cardio is similar to CTX, there are two hi-lo sections, two kickbox type sections and two step. The weights are light (8lbs and 5lbs) and you do compound moves like in C&W. It's OK but not a must have.

Murphy - do you get expenses for jury duty?

Planning to do Overall Legs premix from B&G today. Then I'm going into town to get some bits and pieces. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance. I've got a massive list of mainly unexciting things! But I am going to look at some clothes, I've seen some linen cut-offs I like.

Should be a quieter weekend. Going to get some yoga in tomorrow, feel like I really need it. Then we're all going to see Star Trek on Sunday.

Hi all! Today did LIC, forgot how long it was, didn't think it was ever going to end! Ronne, enjoy your weekend. Thanks for the info, my credit card thanks you! Roxie, so glad DH was able to get his tooth fixed, that is sooooo miserable. And you got to see the baby! Lisa, CakeBoss is a guy named Buddy, (I think), he has a show on TLC called well, CakeBoss, he makes these amazing cakes, whatever you can dream he makes. The kids love the show and they sell them at the grocery store, they taste better than they look! How's it going with extra people in the house? Jody, how's school? When do you get a real break? Murphy, you having fun? Tonite we have dinner with in-laws for DH's birthday, a bonfire party. Tomorrow dinner with friends. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Mary

I did w/u and firewalker tabata from CF, L+G, 100 hip thrust (40 pds), inspiration courtesy of my April rotation another cathlete from thread where I lurk. I'll only get in 3 workout days this week. BTW, when Cathe says stuff like, "slow down if you have to" I really take her at her word!
I want to come back later w/ personals and updates but for now I'm going to be late for tea with the girlies. bbl.

Did 3 mile dog walk, I'm really missing Cathe, so much so some mornings I want to do one, but don't want any neck/arm pain. Been doing so well in the pain area that I'm second guessing my surgery decision (i'm always the optimist that I'm cured). Deep down I think that the injections and the gabapentin, along with just walking is keeping the pain at bay. What a quandary. I thought about doing one of the kickboxing ones but my shoulder is the most painful (and weak) area right now....those lateral arms in LIC really were killing me and I have no intention of repeating now that all the injection testing is over. Here's an example of how my shoulder is: after injection I could lift my big fluffy pillow with left arm easily showing DH how I could do it, now that injection has worn off: I can barely lift the pillow from left side of bed to right.

Jody, have fun with the girls. I'm so out of the Cathe loop I can't remember what CF is. Then on top of that I couldn't remember the one KB w/o that everyone loves that is pretty long, but not too hard (has core section at end), oh yea, I remmber now, KPC. Just put me in the alzheimer's facility now!

Mary, I only do the LIC cardio timesaver, and that is still 48.5 min! Extra people ok so far. Next week DH starts his traveling again and DS travels every other week. So some weeks (maybe most) it will be me and the DIL.

Ronne, a trekkie? I used to love star trek as a kid (on TV), got older and I can take it or leave it. I'll eventually watch the new star trek movie, but have no interest in ironman3.

Roxie, what a nice day with DH.

No plans this weekend, out to eat mexican (sssshhhh, bad I know) at a place we've never ate but rated high. I figure I better eat out while I can, eating in a hard stiff collar is not going to be a pretty sight. I DO NOT want to do this surgery. I just want my old life back.

Lisa, this surgery is going to give you your old life back. It is scary, it is going to help. I know it's hard to be positive right now, you don't want to feel like this for the rest of your life. This will be over soon, and you are going to feel better! 10 days and it will be over and you will be feeling better and on the road to recovery!

OK, so I had to go try out my shoulder to see if I was just imagining the weakness. I took 3lb dumbbells (all my testing was with 4lb but I didn't feel like adding the pace weigths), anyway, took 3 lbs and tried lateral raises, left very weak and hurts and I could tell I was lifting with my neck more than my delt to get it up. Then went to rear dealt flies, PAIN, in rear delt on left and weakness. I only did maybe 3 of each exercise, yep I proved, I'm still broke. :) Score another point for neurosurgeon, he said my delts was worse and offered the option of only doing 1 level fusion and burning nerves in next 2 levels for facet pain (and see if I could live with the tricep issue for now), or doing the 3 level fusion (which is the one he recommended). HE didn't recommend the one level fusion because it's actually the next 2 levels that are more "scary" with spinal cord compression. I hate it when they are right! :)

I think I angered my neck doing just those couple of exercises for the shoulder :(

Poor DH is using my ice packs, his bunions are hurting from all the work he did moving both kids. WE are a mess!

Thanks for the encouragement Mary! I may be working myself up for nothing. I've already come to terms that my w/os are a long way off, I guess right now it's more is this the right thing to do? Realistically it is, I just have to keep reminding myself.

Good Evening,

I did KCMs Body Training one before we went to the lake now I am only 2 workouts behind. I can't wait for the new ones. I am going to restart CK25 next week when DH goes back to work.

Happy weekend! Today did CLB, it was hard for me today! Roxie, hope you get the new ones soon, let us know how they are. Did you get the back one? Jody, did you have fun with your friends? Lisa, with the boys traveling it will be nice to have a girl around! Do you like hanging out with her? Hope you are feeling better today. Murphy, are you done with jury duty? Ronne, any luck clothes shopping? Dinner was nice last night, DH's parents gave Hume money to buy a tri bike, he's sooo excited! Tonite we have a fire fundraiser, spaghetti dinner with an Elvis impersonator?!! Should be interesting! Have a good day, Mary

Haven't done anything today. I did re-test what I did as far as shoulder yesterday since I felt like I was fine. Guess what, no pain today. I could almost want to be committed to the looney bin (maybe I thought of that because I started The Silver Dollar Playbook book), anyway, my guess, the nerve isn't pinched today. Would this drive you all crazy? It is me!

Mary, have fun tonight, sounds like a hoot! DIL and I like to hang out a bit, nothing like a mother / daughter would be I'm sure. It's good I formed a relationship with her. DH is complaining big time about his bunion, I'm thiinking it's more gout (his Dad had that). Of course he isn't listening to me, but I'm making him drink (I swear he doesn't drink enough and that's why he had kidney stones). He isn't liking me telling him what to do since he's claimed bunion problems all his life (he self diagnosed before I met him), he doesn't have the big toe going in toward his other toes, so is it really bunion, do you know?

Roxie, I think I'll be a bazillion workouts behind. I'm thinking I want to do AOLI tomorrow if I still feel ok. I swear workouts are my drug! And I'm having withdrawals! lol

Lol to spaghetti and Elvis! sounds fun. And yummy, too. When was the last time I had spagets? hmm.

Lisa, have you a clear idea of what you can and can't do? Or basically nothing right now? (as far as workouts)

Ronne, did you get your bits and pieces? I keep shopping for bathing suits but I just don't wear one often, can't justify. Now my shoes are rubbed flat, I should be getting new ones for working out. They have No tread.

Roxie have you considered the pushup challenge that was going around before?

Waves to murphy, are you getting workouts in?

I'm trying to finish up the April 2013 rotation by getting the 4th week done in 3 days. I'm coming up a little short but one more day should round it out. Today I did BM2 w/u and step cardio, abs, BS CBS. If I do BM2 power circuits, BS bi tri tomorrow, I will feel complete w/ the rotation.
Tea w/ girlies was fun. Ended up staying til midnight, we were dancing and having fun. Isn't that a silly thing to do when you are 50? : D

Good Evening,

I ended up doing CK25 Wk2 D2 before we left but I still need to catch up my other workouts. Its amazing how spending the day at the lake can make you so tired and the sun wasn't even out.

Jody-you sound like a really fun person to hang out with.

Lisa-someday you can get back to working out like you use to.

Mary-I didn't order the back on and I accidentally ordered the wt one I really only wanted the KB one.
