40's monthly thread until June 30th

Good Afternoon,

I am suppose to do wts today but I am just not feeling up to it TOM and a little depression so I walked on the TM for 45 mins. I applied for 2 jobs today so we shall see.

Lisa-I decided to just mark do not contact and listed her husband as my supervisor.

Mary-next time try the limeade you will enjoy it.

Ronne-on walmarts app I told them why not to contact so we will see what happens there.

I did shoulders from 4DS and an interval run ( I really like Endomondo app but noticed today that it publishes a song I've listened to during tracking, ok. creepy? anyway I still love that app) So shoulders and hiit done but ideally I'd get to bi and tri too. and I have dance later. --Later, dance class x 1 and Core 2 from xtrain done.

Roxie, good luck, getting a job is a job in itself. Lisa, take it easy but I'm glad to see you check in when you can! I've been rocking the smoothies lately but still not venturing too far from what I know I like. Mary I'm supposed to go see that movie w/ my girls or at least older dd. I think the new Despicable Me sounds cute, too. You aren't behind on your cleaning are you? Ronne, did he do the set on his knees cuz his feet were tired?? : > Just kidding, it sounds like an awesome evening and nice you could help out w/ the emergency sleep over- hope all is ok with friend. Hi Murph, do you need a road trip shot in the arm?

I have chem SI work for next 6 weeks but no classes for me as student, whoop! Final was fine, I missed more than I would have liked (as always) but I maintained my King of the Hill status, whoop whoop!!

Hi Ladies

Jody - the NSA are probably scrutinising your playlist as you run!! I bet it feels good to have finished classes for the summer. Are you partying with your classmates?!!:p

Roxie - hope you at least get some interviews.

Lisa - don't you find that the vast majority of emails can be ignored? It just shows if they've been sitting in your inbox that long and no-one has chased!

Mary - I read about the supermoon and then forgot to look out for it! Doh!

Did SS today. Did 15lbs on the concentration curls and Cathe only uses 12lbs! Pah!! :D
Weather quite nice here today so we might all go for a walk later. Make the most of the sun while it's here!

Good Morning,

It was really stormy here today the lightening was really sharp. I did KCM's Body Shop 1 for yesterday it was suppose to be 1&2 but TOM has really wiped me out so I couldn't do both wt workouts and then for today I did Cardio Quick Fix Premix 1 it started out slow but picked.

Ronne-enjoy the sunshine.

Rest and recovery day for me, haha bet you didn't see that coming!

Ronne, so true about email both business and personal ones. Enjoy your weather its just too hot here. We went from winter straight to summer

spoke to work today and told them I could only manage two hours a day and they were agreeable to that. I am very lucky to have the flexible job I have

Hi all! Today did CB&S, disc 1 from XTrain. Lisa, are you working the 2 hours in a row? Take it easy. 400 emails? I don't know if I even would have read them all! Jody, you are on summer break!!! When I get back from vacation on July 7th do you want to start STS? You thought I forgot! House is still clean, I just don't like to bore you all with the details! Roxie, sorry you are feeling lousy, I don't miss that time at all! Ronne, I will send you some of our heat. Even with the air on, I am a sweaty mess, it's so humid. We are leaving for our vacation on Sunday, have to start organizing. We are just going to the lake with family. Some are good, others I like to avoid! Haha! Have a good day, have to take DD for follow up on her gums, her smile is so big & bright now! Best money I have ever spent! Mary

Roxie are you feeling better yet? Job seeking plus ttom = yuk.

Lisa, it is good hubby was able was able to fix up a space for you, hunching over would be impossible.

Ronne, nope not partying with my classmates, just high fives on fb. Glad to have a break and take care of some other stuff, I need to make time for beach and play, too.

Mary, I was wondering if you were still up for sts! It does dovetail with my current philosophy of resistance training being better for wt loss. We'd be looking at 4 workouts a week plus what ever else we choose to add cardio wise and about 45 min to an hour per workout? : ) for dd and her smile!

Today I did Barry Bootcamp bi and tri- it has Alison Sweeney in it she is a cutie. Good choice. Oh and back to work for chem class which was good but I was late and my cell phone went off in class! Not a very good example today. My cell phone went off during my final on Monday, too despite my actions to silence it prior to class. First time that happened all year and to have it occur during final? Oi.

Hi all, I am back on the forums. I have been around, just not able to post. I did a HardStrikes premix that a friend recommended, but I am still not crazy about this one. I was in the doctor's office the other day, reading a magazine (no, don't remember which one), and it recommended HardStrikes. It was even supposedly recommended by fitness instructor. I'm just not feeling this one.

Anyway, waves to all, stay cool - NJ is having a heat wave.

Jody - I had to laugh at the cell phone incident. That is something that would happen to me. Nobody wants to talk to me all day and then, at the worst time possible, it rings!.
Lisa - glad you are doing better.
Mary - glad to hear DD's smile came out nicely.
Ronne - I will send you some heat too.
Roxie - I hope you are feeling better and good luck on the job front.

Murphy

Hi all

In a bad mood. Not managed to get Wimbledon tickets, first time in 8 years. Very disappointed. So thought I'd cheer myself up with LIC. Had a good workout and it put a smile back on my face, then the post came. I've got to pay £16 in charges to collect the new DVDs I ordered from Collage. I'm writing today off!

Murphy - good to see you back. I did HS to death in the Xtrain rotation so it will be a long time before I pick it up again.

Jody - whoops about your phone!

Mary - glad DD is recovered. How are you doing with CBS? Any improvements?

Lisa - you are really lucky to have such an understanding employer. They must really like you!

Roxie - I love storms!

Good Morning,

Now workout for me today DH has another dr. appt so I get to see GS today I am so excited.

Jody-still feeling icky today up side it will end well.

Ronne-I love storms to just not that close.

Murphy-thanks hopefully something will come up soon.

Hi all! Today did CLB, hard today. Humid and I have a little cold. At least that is my excuse! Ronne, so frustrating to have days like that! It's maddening! Maybe somehow you can get tickets? This may sound bad, but DH says he can see more definition in my chest! If I look at the right angle in the right light I can kinda sorta see some definition! Roxie, enjoy that baby! Lisa, how are you doing? Is work making the pain worse? Murphy, glad to see you back! Jody, I will have to look at my STS book, but I will definitely plan on starting in July! I'm kind of excited! Have to go get DS from gym, thankfully just 2 more days of that nonsense! Mary

I did AB express pm and some Burlesque jazz. Both fun. One obviously much sillier than the other.

Mary, the 3.5 month rotation is 3 discs per week and they are right at an hour long. Let me know how you plan to approach it.

Roxie, I hope you had fun w/ your little guy!

Murphy, you can put HS in the back of the pack, that is where I keep yoga dvds- except I haven't even previewed the ones I have.

Ronne, sounds like your day was bumbleF'd from the the get go. Hope tomorrow is better!

Lisa, I hope you are having a pain free day!

ha ha, Mary I was thinking about what you said re well developed pecs. Remember original Firm when they said (along w/ something about sleek thighs like those of a racehorse?) that well developed pecs made a nice platform for the breast. Ha ha, I have the platform, but my breasts have fallen off!

Hi all

Jody - v funny! So are you planning to do a rotation?!

Mary - CLB is hard! You don't need an excuse. That's great that your DH can see changes.

Roxie - hope you had fun with GS.

Picked my DVDs up this morning. Did Amy Bento's Drop Set Strength. I did the Legs, Chest, Back and Core premix which took about an hour. It was good. The legs section especially I think was the best. Felt I could have gone heavier on the 8 rep sets in a couple of places. It's got a really nice 10 min stretch at the end.

Good Morning,

Today I did KCM's TLC 1 plus TBKBX and then to make up for yesterday I did CK25 WK5 D1 and wore my inserts and cut my speed to 3.5 no shin splints but man is it hot and humid sweat buckets. The trainer I had last year made me and 8 WK rotation using the equipment I have here at home so that is what I will be doing next month and since its only 2 days a wk I will add other workouts to it.

Ronne-spending time with my grandson is such a joy who knew you could love a child more then your own children.

Did BS, CS&S. Felt good and I think I am finding the right weights better. That may be b/c I stopped fooling around and am using heavier weights - as suggested on the workout cards.

Jody - AB and burlesque. So, Cahte was silly huh? :) Seriously, I tried the burlesque once, it felt strange. Maybe if there was a pole...

Murphy

Jody, quite the variety of workouts.

Roxie, yea for no shin splints. Better to be safe than hurting (in a bad way)

Mary, happy for dd and her new smile

Ronne, blast those kind of days!

Doing pretty good, darn brace really irritating me now and when vertical digs into my traps so will have to stay more horizontal and try to pad my sore butt where I'm laying on it so much.

Hi all! Today did XT B&T. Didn't sleep good with my cold, just very annoying! Especially with the humidity. Lisa, that neck brace would be crazy annoying! Only about 10 more days, right? Jody, I'm going to start STS on July 8th, I'm thinking of adding 3 or 4 cardio days a week and maybe (maybe) some yoga or maybe adding a total body w/o? I don't know, will have to think that all thru! Murphy, pole dancing, hahahah! I just got a groupon email to take pole dancing lessons. I think it would be hard, a lot of upper body strength. Ronne, do you think the drop sets one is worth getting? It looks intriguing. Roxie, so glad you got time with that baby! When do you think they will let you keep him overnight? Not much else here, have a good night! Mary

MM done!
MUrphy I aimed for completion rather than heavying up today. Pole would be the upper body part of the workout, it takes a lot of strength to climb and spin. : )
Mary, your definition from xt? How much cardio do you plan to include w/ sts?
Roxie, good job on the mods for running. Your rotation is total body wt training?
Ronne, glad your new dvds were pleasing since they ended up costing a lot of shipping!
Lisa we are all going to be so excited for you to get your brace off and start to get back to normal and free of pain.
lol marry me posted at the same time you must have been reading my mind and answered all my questions I am going to do sts on Sunday Wednesdayand Friday. I'll run on TKD days Monday and Thursday and maybe one other metabolic

No workout scheduled today.
Re STS,
Concerns: I'm concerned I'm not going to be able to complete the workouts due to (length x intensity) = punishing and brutal. Also concerned that I'm going to feel drained and I don't want to spend my summer needing to nap, especially if I try to add in 3 other workout days. Or procrastinating and dreading workout. (feeling drained and procrastinating are already issues for me)

Goal: fat loss and improved physique

Benefits: STS can help me reach my goal. And I can go HARD 3 days, do a couple of tabata type runs on other days during regular activities so overall time shouldn't be that bad and there is enough recovery time built in to that schedule. I also know that effective workouts will be challenging workouts, regardless of the system.

Mary, I might start this Sunday, but that means I might have already thrown in the towel by your start date.

Hello

Jody - I guess the question is whether you can do a rotation without beating yourself up about it and not feeling bad if you don't complete it. Can you set yourself shorter term goals, like aiming to do two weeks, then review? And if it isn't working adjust so it is? See it as an ongoing thing, not something that's set in stone.

Mary - doesn't that add up to 9 days a week?! I haven't done the whole of Drop Sets yet so hold your horses! Will let you know when I've done the B, T and S sections.

Lisa - I can imagine it's starting to be a pain but it will be worth it!

Murphy - yes, you feel so great when you go heavy on those!

Roxie - sounds like a good plan.

Yoga for me today. It was quite challenging, not one of the lie around and breath ones. A few one-legged triceps push-ups in there!
We're going to visit family this weekend so won't be around. Have a good one everyone.
