40s Mayday!!

Feeling a bit better today, I guess I just had to have a little pity party (it was my 1 yr anniv for my surgery). Headaches is better, now if only the neck muscle pain at base of skull would. I get days of reprieve but if I hold my head down too much it will make it start, so still can't sew or anything like that, in fact I swear sometimes I lean it down too much to read. I had to hem DS GF shorts for her work...took about an hr of head down time and bam, neck hurt all day into the next, it just wears on you. Anyway, I took dogs for 2 mile walk and then did FT, it sure seems easier than Supercuts! I'm sure some of the weight work isn't helping the neck (I'm up to 8 lbs! on everything but shoulders).

Mary, I think the worst thing is that they don't get things done when (or how ) I would, I'm tired of nagging. So instead I just hold it in and then BP goes up :) I think it's great you found something you can do, when can you do walks?

Jody, sometimes it's the dogs mealtimes that are the most stressful, at least younger DS takes care of his dog, but older one I have to feed her (they used to just leave her food out--Shibas will not overeat, so since it's my dog that is allergic to their dogs food, I guess it's my job to feed the both of them, watch to make sure mine doesn't get into the other ones, else she'll get sick). 3 dogs and all are on different diets! younger DS dog throws up if he gets into my dog's food :) Oh, and boy am I cooking now, everyday, gah! And any leftovers are immediately gone. I know younger DS would make dinner if I asked, but last time he did, it caused more work, he dropped a glass bottle, cut his hand real bad...you get the picture :)

Good Evening,

I did Cathe's Low Impact Step and my planks this morning, I use to burn alot of calories with this one but didn't today. DH and I went to the lake today it was perfect.

Mary-switched days off. Good job doing some kind of workout.

Jody-KCM says anything that has wts and cardio is and interval workout. She suggested next month I do the Muscle Up workouts on opposite days and then 2 interval workouts and 1 day of cardio but I haven't figured out how to schedule everything.

Lisa-I would absolutely go crazy at your house and have to blow up on someone.

Mary-Muscle Up is split work chest, back and shoulders is workout 1 bis, tris and legs second workout and then there is a bonus ab section. One of the premixes is total body 1 set of everything.

I previewed the new KCMs. I think I will use Muscle up for wts and the other I think I can add to my metabolics list I made. I've got BG, LIC, DM and BG plus Lowmax in a pile close to player so maybe those will play a part in my fitness over the next few days. I did DM pretty much all the way thru today and felt good.

Roxie, maybe KCM will give you more feedback. I think it would be easier if there were 8 days in a week. : )

Lisa, I would avoid puking dogs at all cost. Corgis must be the opposite of Shibas when it comes to food. I liked all the doggy celebrations. I miss my dogs but still glad I'm not doing animal care beyond yowling cat.

Mary, maybe suddenly expecting you to do pull ups like Cathe is like me thinking I was going to do Pistols like Zuzka. Nice idea, not impossible, but really???

Good morning! Today did XT bi's and tri's, sitting of course. Jody, I should have bought a turbo tower when they were available, wasn't thinking then. I have actually gotten the pistol squat down on my right leg! Only way to pick up things! Of course I do use my crutch, so that doesn't really count! Lisa, don't hold it in! Get it out or resentment will eat you up! Maybe the headaches are from tension? I'm stuck on these crutches for 2 more weeks. Roxie, will you have good boating weather this weekend? I'm going to hang at the pool! Ronne, still having fun? Hi Murphy! Last night, (bragging again, I'm sorry!) DS won 2 math awards, science award, French award and lettered in academics! I think people got tired of hearing his name called! DD received honors. She's a little annoyed with DS! Youngest is playing the national anthem tonight at baseball game, the cymbals, he's so excited and nervous! Have a good day, have to get to PT, Mary

Good Evening,

I did KCM's Bootcamp 1 before work and planks at work.

Mary-if the weather holds out I will be at the lake on Sunday.

Jody-I asked KCM to make a suggestion on how to do the workouts.

No w/o, woke up in middle of night with sore throat, it didn't get any better after coffee and cough drop in the morning. Younger DS did help us put some window film on some windows for privacy (took down my 22 yr old lace curtains), then we were starving and his GF was here so we went to eat a good lunch and then took the dogs to the dog park, got home, laid down to rest, was watching Ellen at 3pm, next thing I know the news is on and it's 5pm. My throat isn't sore anymore, but it is yellowish (the uvula--the thing hanging in your throat) is 1/2 covered in yellow. Don't know if it's allergies or a cold virus or what. Tomorrow the movers come to pack up DS stuff, so not sure if I'll get anything in tomorrow or not. Then the dreaded grocery-max needs done...I've run out of ideas for cooking :)

Mary, crutches are no fun, I always felt dependant on people (for example, I couldn't even go down to the vending machine and carry coffee back---imagine my surprise when I got down there and realized how stupid I was to not think of that). I think you SHOULD be bragging a lot! It feels good to know your parenting work is all paying off.

Roxie, Did you notice I never followed thru on doing planks? Rain here today, rivers are coming out of their banks with all the rain and snow melt from the mountains. Heck, some bridges are still out from the floods we had in Sept. Is it too much to want nice dry weather but not 90 degrees either? :)

Jody, Suki isn't eating much, she is such a picky eater, hope nothing is wrong with her, she gets so distracted by the other dogs food. Shibas are very cat-like. Independent! Stubborn too! When we go to the dog park, they play just a little and immediately are like "I, being the shiba that I am, should not be caged up!", and they go stand at the entry while DS's german shorthair pointer is running around like a dopey dog going crazy. That dog instead says " I can run, I can run, I can ruuuuuun!" I never had a dog from a puppy before in my adult years (prev dog I got at 15 mths), I don't think I want to do the puppy stage again, here I was worried about housetraining and that was the easiest part!

Lisa that sounds like a busy day. I hope the sore throat stays away. I need groceries too, I keep running out of fresh stuff and I'm not eathing as much fast food lately.

Mary, I agree w/ Lisa- you should totally brag- all your kids are doing so well and seem so well rounded and grounded. When you described ds name coming up it reminded me of my recent grad. At grad they only featured one student- she was student trustee- sort of community college's answer to valedictorian I guess-a paid 20 hour a week position. Among her accomplishments was President of the Health and Fitness club. All I can say is that she seemed under-qualified for that position. Oh and the President of the college announced that every one of the Ophthalmology Students was already employed in the field. That was the program I angst-ed over. Still question my choice. All my concerns about RT seem valid. Oh well. Doesn't matter now.

Roxie, exactly what is your plank program? A certain number? Different types? Share if you can conveniently do so. I hope you get to the lake this weekend.

Ronne are you back yet? Murphy I hope you are doing OK.

I did IMAX2 today and another 30 min cardio thing this eve. I'm considering BG for tomorrow or maybe a plyo legs.

Hi everyone

I'm back!

Lisa - So, youngest DS is off to Kansas soon? Are you counting down the days? Sounds like you've got a real house full there, I would be doing my nut!

Jody - I like the look of the new series as well, sounds right up my street. Sounds like work has calmed down a bit for you, is that right?

Roxie - keep on planking and boating!

Mary - you sound very chipper. Glad you've found some workouts you can do. I love the idea of chair cardio!!

Had a nice little trip even though the weather wasn't great. It absolutely poured it down the day we drove up, walked round the town in the rain, trying to find somewhere to eat. But yesterday was lovely, the sun came out and the sea looked beautiful. Caught the sun on our faces a bit as well. We managed a six mile walk on Thursday as well.
Did YBB 1 with the yoga stretch today. Decided not to push too hard with first day back!

Good Morning,

I did KCM's Muscle Definiton 1 then cleaned the bathroom and vaccumed then tried to do planks but my arms were shaking so I will have to try them again later.

Jody-I only do 3 1 minute planks and rest inbetween each 1 and after a month you would think they would be easier but not so much.

Lisa-you do what you can I don't judge. Good luck with the move there is a chance of rain every day from now until next Sunday.

Ronne-sounds like you ended up having a nice day.

Mary-hows the pool?

Roxie that seems pretty straightforward. I had imagined walking planks, side planks, doo da doo da.

Ronne, yes I'm not getting many hours right now- I'm getting to focus on board exam and also helping dd w/ car purchase and college stuff.

I had a smoothie this morning that wasn't as yummy as I hoped. It tasted like a chocolate flavored freshly mowed lawn. Butts and Gutts done, man. Makes me think of this from don't tell mom the baby sitter's dead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMiEpeKMNQI

Have a good day all. DD 3rd Degree Black Belt promo this eve, I'm very excited and proud of her.

Hi girls! Today did the tabata heavy bag mix from HS with my weighted gloves. Ronne, your trips always sounds so idyllic! Roxie, are you noticing a difference in your abs with all the planks? Lisa, hope your sore throat disappeared! Jody, your smoothie sounds decidedly un-appealing! Hi Murphy! Game was so sweet last night! He looked so cute on the field! Jody, thank you for your kind words, they make me crazy, but boy they amaze me! Getting lunch and heading to a lounge chair at the pool! Have a good day, Mary

Mary- my shorts are getting loser and I take pictures every 11 days and email or text them to Kelly and according to her and my DD there is a difference and I think I can see it.

What a wasted day. Waited for an hr for the movers to get here, it takes them 5 hrs to pack up everything? Didn't think DS had that much! Then to top it off, 85% of the stuff was in the garage, and the other 15% scattered pieces of just furniture throughout the house. So, what's the first thing they do? Put down cardboard on the hardwood floors and open the front door, THEN they proceed to repack the stuff in the garage (while the house is open), uh, so had to turn off the AC and be hot. What an ordeal! I then did grocery shopping while DS handled the last bit of packing (and that still took them an hr), came home, made a quick dinner and tried to do a 45 min intermed. pilates reformer w/o. Felt sick during it, so quit at about 30 min. Oh, my throat is better, but I do feel a little puny. Also, my BFF that gets headaches like I do with the weather has had a lot of headaches lately too, so maybe it has been the weather (had slight one today).

Roxie, that's great about the shorts! So, how's the scale? is it moving? if not, maybe you prove the point that it isn't about the scale?

Mary, I bet boxing is a great idea! See, you gotta be creative! Another reason I didn't push the pilates today is there was more neck involvement than I wanted, neck has been good, don't want to push it and I hope I didn't. I also modified my reading position and try to keep my neck how it would have been in the brace when I'm reading, feels much better.

Jody, congrats to DD! Hope you don't plan to make any of those smoothies in the hotel room ! :) I saw your DBRT checkin, I'll join....when I have a decent w/o. You have been burning up the sneakers! Speaking of sneakers I bought 2 pair online from DSW (after looking at the store), well one came today and they didn't have the newest one, so I ordered the prev one, I don't like it as well, will return and pay more for latest one. I actually got a Nike and an Addias--I have to watch for heel slippage with my narrow heels.

Ronne, DS doesn't start until June 23rd, the moving company has a date for furniture delivery as early as June 2nd and as late as June 19th, I'll be glad when he's settled in, but it's a while yet.

As usual, I gabbed about everything BUT working out.......

Good morning! Today did XT CB&S, went ok. Lisa, so only 3 more weeks of 6 adults in the house? The countdown can begin! Roxie, that is impressive! Maybe when I can I'll start that too! Only 3 minutes of suffering a day? Enjoy the boat. Ronne, any trips this summer? Jody, where is DD going to college? Will she be staying at home? Hi Murphy! Have to get to Target today, have to drag kids to push the cart, then the pool. Have a good day!

I did 1.75 mile dog walk as a warm up to BM2 UB PM, I only did the 1st couple of ab exercises.

Mary, I bet you have to have your weights close by. I hope I didn't overdo it too much on my weights, I did feel it a bit in my neck. I stayed with the same weight amt I've used on other w/o's but this one last time I did it cause my neck to hurt and I'm afraid it will this time too, so there is something different with this one (and it isn't the inclines because I don't do the incline). Ah the joys of modifying, huh? I guess only the smartest of us are challenged to modify so that we can use our brain too :)
