40's March Maddies

Hi ladies

Mary - I think I saw that on a video clip - it did look a bit messy! Yes, the film was really fun, but also quite sad at the end.

Roxie - good job on the workout

Lisa - that's a lot of workout. Glad you're pulling the weight for me.

No workout for me again today. This cough is just awful, I really don't want to work out as I know it will make it worse. Giving up on the March rotation, I'll pick up what's left when I eventually get back to it. Might try some yoga tomorrow if I think it'll be OK.
Going out tonight with friend for dinner, we're having a special four course fish meal. It's at a local uni where students study hospitality and they have a working restaurant for them to practise their skills in. I've heard good things about it.
 
I did 30 min reformer, 30 min jumpboard on the reformer. My lower right back is bad today, I know it is that same muscle knot, maybe made worse by using it more and differently. For example, I do bridges with my feet out on the bar of the reformer, when in bridge position you push out to straighten your legs, really works your hammies and glute! If I push in where I think the knot it, it sends more pain to my top glute. Yes, my sis gave me her appt tomorrow. Hope we can get this worked out quickly! And hope it isn't anything more (she did mention facets of the spine....yea, just like my neck, boo!) But to me it really feels muscular in nature.

Ronne, wasn't all that much, just trying to stretch more, I'm sure I'll never be as limber as you are! Oh how I wish (I always have wanted to be more flexible). HOpe you get to feeling better soon!

Mary, do you have any irish blood? 22 yrs ago when they induced my youngest, they gave me March 16 or 17, I wanted him out sooner than later so picked the 16th, my DS is always bummed I didn't pick the 17th (ps. no irish in our bloodline)

Roxie, I sure hope after summer we have the house back. When DS temp moves his stuff here before going to Kansas it will be a big mess. At least that DS is taking things I want to replace (like breakfast nook set) and I can get something new.
 
Did a shortened premix of pedal power. Pushed it just a smidge and it felt "good." It felt good to push it and feel like I am progressing, gaining strength. I was supposed to do it yesterday, but yesterday DH decides he wants to talk to me as I about to get ready to exercise. "It is 5:30 am and you want to talk NOW?!" So, yesterday did not happen. I cannot exercise tomorrow b/c I have to be at the hospital bright and early. BTW, why do we have to be at the hospital at the crack of dawn when the doctor does not get there until hours later? Pre-op stuff does not take that long - I'm just sayin'...

Anyway, thank you for all the prayers and please keep them coming. I'll keep you posted.

Rough day at work today boss lady was in a pissy mood I should have just came home early. I did KCM's Stepboxing 1 it helped take me get my frustrations out. I don't know if I should tell anyone this but I know you guys will keep it a secret but KCM called me on the phone Sunday she was upset with what the doctor told me about my wt so she wanted to help me and encourage me to keep working out so her workouts hold a special place in my heart.

Murphy-I have never understood the reason behind that especially since you can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight.

Ronne-hope that cough goes away soon.

Lisa-take it easy you don't want to go backwards in your progress.

Mary-I don't have the last KCM Shape Up or some of her earlier ones before the 30 min workouts.

DD1 has new batch of kidney stones, I'll leave out the rest of the dramas for now but it is good to see yall.
ps Roxie any info to share that might encourage the rest of us? Gosh I xoxoxoxo kcm even more.
pss, mary i have acls, pals and nrp now, all new certifications for me, I think that is pretty cool.

Roxie - wow, that is amazing! So sweet of her.

Murphy - glad to hear you're able to 'push it'! Keeping everything crossed for you and hoping that things go well today.

Lisa - hope the massage therapist can get to the bottom of your back pain (that sounds weird ..., you know what I mean!)

Had a really nice evening with friend yesterday. Meal was great and a good atmosphere. First time I'd seen her this year, so we had loads to catch up on.
Did some yoga today. Felt good and I really stretched out my hips. Cough is still vile. Just got to be patient.

I did KCM's Total Body Kickboxing 1 and had a good workout its suppose to be 56 and windy here today but I plan on going for a walk later when it warms up.

Jody-congratulations on your certs. She just said that doctors are generic and have no business telling someone what she did without knowing my total history or my goals and she said to make sure I eat and keep snacks available at all times.

Ronne-it was sweet of her and I really appreciated that she took time out of her day to talk to me. How are you feeling?

Hi ladies! Shout out to Murphy! been thinking of you today, hope all is going well!

I did KCM weights, both w/o's. Went for my massage and boy did my lower right back hurt! My right quadratus lumborum has a knot but also needs stretched (with all that stretching I've been doing I've neglected the stretches I used to do that helped this, hence why (threw that in for you Jody) my back is REALLY acting up). So, even more stretches to add to my laundry list, I wish I was flexible! Is anyone else here tight? I know Ronne probably isn't since she is such a yogi, and I doubt Jody is since she's a dancer, come on, some one join me in the least flexible person category! Jody, that quite an accomplishment with all those certifications!

Roxie, KCM is awesome, she is so approachable (I had a couple emails with her about my order). And yes, drs say whatever just to get done with you sometimes.

Mary, wow new furniture? what did you do with the old? I'm always just trying to find someone to give my old stuff too, hence why (another just for Jody) I am thrilled DS22 is happy to take my old stuff.

Ronne, the stretch the massage therapist gave me is the one done in YR, you lay on your back, shoulders on floor, one leg straight on floor and crossing other over the other while keeping shoulders on floor (hope that made sense). Some others that seems to help...pigeon (duh!), and these: Yoganatomy Simple Preparation for Lotus Posture - Video » Yoga Anatomy I had abandoned them for reformer hamstring stretches. whoops! So can you sit in lotus position? If you read the article here Love Yoga Anatomy | Gluteal and Psoas Relationship for Yogis I did notice I was tightening my right buttock just sitting....for example, when speedster DH would pass trucks on the way to Kansas, I'd tighten up and notice it was my right buttock.

So that's your stretch and yoga education for today, but then you all already knew it, and so did I, I jsut didn't connect the dots......oh and why did Physical therapy never mention these type of stretches when I went in for lower back pain....all I got was hamstring stretches and core strengthening stuff....I wasted so much money on physical therapy and totally believe in this massage therapist! She's even helped my sister! My sister says she's doing better with the stretches she gave her for her psoas.

Good morning! Today did another new one, Cindy Whitmarsh, I enjoyed it. 20 minute w/o's. Today did a hiit and sculpt & stretch. It will be good for those time crunched days. Got two others of hers also. Murphy, how are you doing today? Thinking of you. Lisa, you are a good researcher. Interesting how it is all so connected. Roxie, hope boss isin a better mood today. Mary - new furniture! That's always nice. Wow, what a nice mix you are!! Sounds like you're having fun playing with your new DVDs.

Lisa - thanks for all the info! I do some of those stretches (particularly lying twists) as part of yoga, they're really good. I've got flexible hamstrings but not hips, so I can get knees to nose, but lotus isn't possible. My left hip is more open than my right.

Roxie - unfortunately, I don't seem to be getting any better ...

So, did some yoga again today. Thought I might be getting a bit better last night, but this morning as usual I was woken by a 20 min coughing fit. Also, just been to the Post Office (30 min round trip walk) and I was coughing like crazy when I got back. It's so BORING!!
On the gymnastics run tonight. Go for a coffee and cake and a read.
 
I did HS today, it was more like soft strikes :) but i'm feeling stronger in my left side, er, until I tried side planks, my UB couldn't support me, ah in time. Right back is a bit better, hip/glute still hurting, stretching like crazy, man, as you get older stretching is even more important! Suki was restless yesterday so DH and I walked her 1.1 miles, but she still was restless, sigh, puppies are a lot of work! Just their energy level alone! If only I had 1/2 that energy!

Ronne, tight hammies for me, and tight hips, and tight (insert anything here ) :) My right hip is more open than my left. I'm noticing when I stand I put more weight maybe on my right foot? Maybe that contributes. Also Massage therapist said right leg is longer by a bit, it's all a contribuiting factor. So, Hi Ho, Hi, Ho, it's off to stretch I go! (that's a modified snow white song). I think what's even more important is for me to stretch after my dog walks, well, at least I have the time :)

Mary, it's actually a springy day today, so DH and I will walk the dogs.

Good Evening,

I had to do oxygen rounds today which meant 150 miles of driving a high profile vehicle in 25 mph winds and made me so tired that I didn't want to workout but after KCM called me I feel like I would be letting her down if I didn't so I did Body Training 1 Standing Leg work and my legs are shaking.

Lisa-it was 71 here today but really windy.

Mary-fortunately I was out most of the day so I didn't have to deal with her.

Ronne-are you going to see a doctor?

Murph-thinking of you.

Lisa, Thanks for all the hence whys. I'm actually pretty tight but in all the wrong places if ya know what I mean.
Roxie, That sounds exhausting. If I hadn't lived in OK for awhile I wouldn't really get it but I do remember the wind blowing like crazy all day.
Mary, I'm counting down the weeks.
Murphy, good job on pushing it. I'm absorbing some second hand encouragement from KCM to Roxie (living vicariously?) and looking forward to a work out soon.
I did special diagnostics today, I like that stuff. And staying over at my mom's since she is half way- we played Bingo- I won several games and made about 35 dollars.

I did reformer and jumpboard, it was pretty easy w/o. My right back/hip still sensitive, I probably need to take a rest day, maybe tomorrow when it's snowing.

Mary, my UB is doing well even after HS. HS isn't so bad when you modify the jumping jacks (actually all jumping). My neck hurts a bit from straining to see the TV for the new reformer w/o I did today. If my hip/back would get better I'd feel better. Would you do some errands for me? I'm feeling lazy, I should walk the dogs since it's going to snow tomorrow, but I'd just like to curl up in bed, but puppy Suki has other ideas!

Roxie, good job doing your w/o. Wind is draining! And I know the type of wind you mean, this winter we've had more wind than snow!

Jody, good for you to pop in. Congrats on the Bingo win. I never win, but then I never play anything to be able to win :)

No workout for me today I didn't get up this morning and I got home to late so I will have to make it up tomarrow.

Mary-I have Cindy's 6 Pack Abs and I really like it. I drive the company vehicle and its a tall van.

Lisa-no snow here but its suppose to be back in the 40's after being 70 yesterday and 65 today.

Jody-you do understand its just as windy there.
 
Morning! Today did hiit 30/30. Wanted something quick. Murphy, how are you? Ronne, how are you feeling? Roxie, don't torture yourself too much today! Lisa, I have only done HS two times, I think it's all the jumping jacks, seems endless. I do like RK tho! Hope you are feeling better today. Jody, how are you? Not much here, kids just started their spring break and mine is ending, have to find some fun for them! Mary

I did KCM's TLC Boxing and added stretch then some abs that were on Pinterest and walked on the TM for 30 minutes now its time to clean and go grocery shopping.

Mary-good job with your workout.
 
Hi Ladies! Yesterday I took a rest and cheat day. today I did a reformer w/o, it had some different arm moves that I couldn't do on my left arm, I may have to buy a lighter spring (wish I had known that when I bought the box and heavier spring online!).

Mary, that's hard I bet with spring breaks being different times!

Roxie, I may have to try TLC boxing now that I can do arm movements with no residual pain.
