40s Healing in October

More trimming palms and bird of paradise and 40 min of BM2 premix, off to shop for groceries.
Mary, glad rain held off, track meet in rain would be yuck. O by the way my cuz loved the edible arrangement, I'm so glad I did it. Roxie, is it cold or just not hot?

Jody-its 60 degrees so yes its cold.

Hi girls! Today did YR. also cleaned. Have to get to the mall today, kids have homecoming dance next weekend. DD has her dress, just needs shoes, DS of course grew 6 inches! He needs shoes, pants, dress shirt. Everything! Roxie, still humid and 80 here. I'm waiting for those 60's! Jody, how was the grocery store? We went last night, kind of funny story! The guy ahead of us had a bunch of parsley, that's it, anyway he didn't have any money, so I paid for it, (only cuz I wanted to be done, not out of goodness) the cashier gave him my change and he walked away with it! I was floored! Hopefully some good karma will come our way! Ronne, how was the weekend? Murphy, how are you doing? Lisa, are you put doing something fun? Well, better get moving, Mary

Good Afternoon,

I did 30 mins on the TM and 80 squats. Another chilly day 62 right now.

Mary-you should be getting cooler weather soon.

busy day Saturday going to see my DS21, I did get X10-LI in. Was able to do most of it, not the burpees, or the pushups (I couldn't have done those in my good neck days). I felt no pain hardly Satureday, today sunday a different story, I didn't think I did anything in the w/o saturday to cause it (didn't do big arms), maybe just moving my arms too much (even little movements), because I can also feel my left shoulder blade flare up if I type too much (hence not checking in). So today, Sunday, just did a dog walk of 2.5 miles and plan to do my PT exercises. My left shoulder is feeling weird, last time massage lady helped that. I guess my body just needs a lot of time to heal as the muscles were stretched so much. sigh

Mary, they grow like weeds! Even after I though DS21 feet had quit growing and bought snowboard boots, they grew more and had to buy more (those are expensive)

Jody, yes, I drink a lot especially on massage days. The massage sounds like more than it is. I only get my left neck to shoulder to mid back massaged, and it's more like she uses pressure points to get the knots out.

Roxie, it's been cool here too, I like it. we are warming up so warmth is heading your way.

Mary that was weird, do you think it was random or part of some ongoing elaborate pandering lifestyle? Are you going to halloween horror at CP? I see ads for it on my wordswithfriends game.
Roxie, that is cold. Speaking of cold, I had to do a workout in order to get hot enough to face a cold shower- my H2O heater broken. Plumber wants to repair not replace even though it is old. I'll go along w/ $125 rather than 750.
Lisa, I feel like a fat geezer after months of sts and poor eating and few metabolic workouts, I don't know how the heck you are managing to jump back in.
Ronne, weekend w/ parents go well?
Murph, hope you are taking care of yourself.
Oh I did AB express pm, parts of it in slow mo. TTYL, maybe not til Thurs again.

Hi everyone

Wow, I feel like I've missed loads! Had a nice weekend with parents. We went out for the day yesterday to another local country house. It's called Sulgrave Manor and is where George Washington's ancestors came from. The weather was gorgeous so spent a pleasant hour or so wandering outside as well and drinking coffee.
Managed to get a workout in on Saturday: KCM Plateau Buster. I did the PB challenge and it was tough. I was a sweaty wreck by the end. I recommned that premix Roxie if you want to push yourself.
Doing Drop Set Strength this week. Did Chest, Biceps, Triceps and core today.

Took DD to hand clinic on Friday and her finger's not broken which is a relief. Just got to rest it for a week or so - no sport and no cycling to school. Getting her home everyday is going to be a pain this week!

Jody - do you have any KCMs? They're all 30 mins and I always feel like I've done something if I'm short on time. That's good news that your heater can be repaired!

Lisa - what do you think of what you've seen of the new ones so far?

Mary - that is so funny about the supermarket! People can always surprise you! Do you think Flextrain is harder or easier than Supercuts? It looked a similar kind of workout on the preview and I find Supercuts pretty tough.

Roxie - what have you tried of the new ones so far?

Murphy - if you're lurking, hi and I hope things are going OK.

Hi all! Today did GG with the bonus barre, harder the 2nd time around! Ronne, so glad for DD, that is a relief. I have only done Supercuts a couple of times, I think I actually enjoyed flex train a bit more. Jody, I think it was just random, she probably gave him the change just out of habit. I was a bit surprised at the time, funny now tho! Hope your week goes well! Lisa, hope you had in with DS. Shopping trip was a success, was able to get him, dress slacks, shirt, belt and tie for the same as his dress shoes! He wanted a jacket also, he just got the look and we moved on! Roxie, thank you for the tempature decline! Rained all night here. Have you tried any of the other new ones? Any love for them? Hi Murphy! Thinking of you! Have to run into work, hope good day for all! Mary

Good Morning,

I was suppose to do Xtrain legs but decided to try Lean Legs and Abs and I have to say I liked this workout which is weird because I dread doing legs and the ab section was totally doable, I also did intervals on the TM for 30 minutes.

Ronne-Legs and Abs is the only one I have done but I have previewed some of the others and their is alot of jumping jacks in this series, I am not really impressed with them.

Mary-wishing I wouldn't have bougth these workouts and your welcome.

Hi all. Sorry to not have been around. I have been down in the dumps b/c I don't have the energy to do the new Cathe's. I have not even looked at them. I started to not even open the box and put them away. This last chemo session really took it out of me. I was soooo tired and "foggy." I feel better today, but now I am on an emotional roller coaster - WTH! It is like emotional flashes - one minute I am okay, the next I am crying, back and forth. Plus, the hair is starting to shed lots. I still have some, but my oldest DD saw it and it seemed to bother her. I tried to downplay it for her, she seemed okay after I that.

Anyway, thank you for all the well wishes and support. Keep up on the reviews of the new dvd's. The October rotation looks great (darnit). I have to put that on my list of rotation keepers. Okay, flashing again, gotta get some air. Waves and hi-fives to all.

Murphy

I did 1.5 mile dog walk and tried x10-step, omg, hard if you didn't use all my modifications to try to avoid pain. I used just step, no riser, NO arms (to see if the little arms are causing the pain, massage lady said I can do some just be careful of repetition, thought 30 min cathe (instead of 1 hr) wasn't much repetition, but will see how I feel tomorrow in the areas that start hurting. Let's see, other modifications, no jumping, no burpees, no push ups, heck what did I do then? Well, I moved and sweated a little. I'm getting good at modifying, I did tell my bff before surgery that I may not be able to jump but I would like to get the use of my arms back since that increases cardio.....um, guess that comes in time. PCP even said how one person couldn't even throw out a fishing line without it hurting.

Ronne, From what I've seen, I'm not in love with new w/o's. Only did pedal power, PS1 (I'm going to try that one again sometime with no arms, maybe I'll be able to keep up), and some X10 segments (LI, and step). Everyone, is it me, or does Cathe w/o seem to get harder with each new release?

Murphy, hugs, the kids will understand I'm sure. I'm sure it's scary for them to see their mother ill. It was scary for my ADULT boys when I would break down crying in pain in front of them (remember you can't SEE anything wrong with me). SAve your energy to give your kids hugs :) Are you still working? I hope you are able to take time off.

Jody, I wouldn't say I'm jumping in. I'm TRYING to, and keep getting set back which = frustration. I was trying to use exercise to get out of my funk slump, and then I can't do it without causing pain. Thankfully doc understood and was empathetic. I'm heavier too :( depression = bad eats

Hi to Mary and Roxie, must run dog to vet to get last of her shots!

Hello

Mary - well done on the shopping. I bet you're glad to get that out of the way!

Roxie - hopefully, you might have more fun when you actually do them. I thought LLA looking pretty good. It's one I might get around to buying some time.

Murphy - sorry to hear you're feeling down. I suspect everything you're going through is very normal, not that that is much consolation. We've got the workouts in the bag for you though! ;)

Lisa - X10 sounds like it's the tough one from what I've been reading. I don't know about the workouts getting tougher. I think the style is different, at least we get water breaks now!

Did AB Double Trouble premix (everything once through then again). I think it's a bit tougher than the original because you don't get as many breaks but I enjoyed it because it doesn't seem as repetitive. I like the range of exercises in it.
It's DH's birthday tomorrow, I've been looking for some cake/pudding recipes to make. Probably going to do a baked cheesecake with plums and blackberries.

Good Morning,

I did XT CB&S, 100 Squats, and 1.9 mile walk outside. Its windy and still a little chilly my allergies weren't happy with me.

Murphy-I am so sad that you have to go through all this. I saw a commercial during the NFL football game that made me think of you the lady told her kids that when they saw her hair fall out it meant the medicine was working and it helped them deal with it.

Lisa-be careful with your workouts you will get back to some kind of normal just take it easy.

Mary-I would have been just a little ticked she gave him the change.

Ronne-I am hoping I will like the workouts more when I do them, I bought them for the greatest hits but had I known she was going to throw in BM2, DM, and Imax 2 I wouldn't have bothered.

Hello all! Ohhh Murphy, sending you good thoughts. This sucks so much for you, I'm so sorry you are going through this. Lots of prayers for you. Roxie, I tried Greatest Hits today, I did the circuit premix. It was ok, all ready having the dvd's they came from, well, I'm glad it was free! Ronne, don't get Greatest Hits! lol! If I didn't order the bundle, I think I just would have gotten great glutes, lean legs, flex train and rockout knockout. But those would have been more expensive than preordering. Lisa, how are you doing? Better today? Lots of running, better get off my fanny! Have a good evening, Mary

1.5 mile dog walk and xtrain ride. I didn't do as bad as I thought I would but I was careful on any standing drills as I don't want joggle my neck. Now that I know what I can do I need to go back and try to do pedal power again and see if I like it any better.

Mary, I'm doing much better now that I've taken out any our movement in any work out even my PT exercises. Dr said to start moving my arms more but he didn't caution me about it causing all the pain I was having . plus pt wasn't really helping me understand at all thank goodness I found this massage lady. I haven't tried greatest hits but I figure I'll feel like you do

Ronne, that premix sounds like a good one.

Roxie, DH did notice my cardio is improving when we took a walk the other night. So I'm feeling better and more positive eventually I'll get there. I sure do miss lifting weights!

Hi I did cross fire for about 45 min then some abs from xt.

I think it is hard for Cathe to not "get us in the end anyway". I guess it is better to have long hard workouts you can modify down for time and intensity than easy ones you never pick up because you don't feel like you worked out. . Xtrain rotations turned out to be longer than I thought too.

Ha ha, that being said, I printed a Cathe metabolic rotation someone made up at vf and I'm just shooting for 30 to 45 min minimum of the workouts ~ 4 days a week.

Gotta do school work. ttyl. Oh Ronne, no I don't have any KCM. I'll get some someday.

Hi all

Roxie - I'm sure you'll find something to like when you get started.

Mary - I only want three of those (not interested in GG) so with discounts etc. I can probably get them for a reasonable price. Having said that I'm not planning to buy anything for a while!

Lisa - glad to hear you're feeling a bit more positive and getting the cycle DVDs to work for you.

Jody - that looks like a punishing rotation even if it is only 4 days a week!

Did the other half of Drop Set Strength, legs, back and shoulders.
DH's birthday today. I'm doing some baking this pm and the three of us are going out to eat tonight.

Good Morning,

DH and I are going to try to go to the lake today its suppose to be windy and only in the 70's so not very warm but we don't have alot of days left. I will do 105 squats today and make up my workout tomarrow.

Ronne-if I don't I have alot of other workouts.

Hello! Today did XT BS CB&S. Roxie, are you guys still going out on the boat? Ronne, enjoy birthday dinner! Jody, that looks like a good plan. Lisa, I can't believe you did x10 step! That looks hard! Hope you are feeling ok. Murphy, how are you today? Hope your energy is making a comeback. Have to go start my running to and from the high school, have a good evening, Mary

Did GG with my awesome 3lb weights :) I didn't move my arms up, just held onto the weights, it still was hard. I guess it was more like 8 lb weights given how much weight I've gained  I was worried about putting too much weight on my arms for the floor portion so I didn't repeat when Cathe did. The bonus really got my calves. Now that I'm done I know I'll have DOMS (too bad I can only take tylenol, no advil allowed :() my right glute is already feeling it! I wouldn't say I love this w/o (it's a leg w/o, I'm the one that likes UB....what an oxymoron that I love UB yet can't do much with my arms without it causing muscle spasming and knotting so bad it's painful.

Mary, you didn't read all my modifications I did for x10-step, it was really like stepping around. I'm thinking that no risers might be good from here on, I'd like to move my arms for intensity, one day.....

Roxie, Did you get your boat time in? Hope the wind didn't make it too cool.

Ronne, had a bit of pain at the base of my skull last night. I think I cocked my head a bit too much and holding it up that way really taxes those muscles. It was bearable but had to make sure that during today's w/o to bend head down a bit (PT taught me that).

Jody, I much rather have harder than boring and easy. Even if I make my Cathes easy right now it still is more fun than the boring easy ones. I just have to remember to rein it in else I will pay the next day and I've had enough pain to last a while.

Murphy, thinking of you and hoping things are going good. Remember the title this month, it's an omen for us! :)
