40's+ December -last mth of 2013!

Hi everyone, I was MIA this weekend, Christmas came early because DH wanted and WII U, so we spent family time all weekend playing games, it was good to get everyone having fun together.

Ronne, I did AT today too! I haven't done this w/o much, but since I have to keep to lighter weights I'm appreciating the LI series and the circuit w/o's. Sounds like you had a great weekend too! I've been cooking a lot too, but no cleaning (my bad), after the holidays and everyone clears out, I'll have the cleaning lady come one more time then I will try to keep up with it.

Murphy, I got Zumba for the Wii U, tried a couple songs, yep I can see it is a good way to make you move, will wait for a quieter house before I really attempt it as a w/o option (I'm sure I look ridiculous).

Roxie, I had uber DOMS from TBT LB JFO, glutes and hammies, been at least a year since I've done that and was surprised at the DOMS.

Jody, did you get a new washer? What a fun Christmas present :)

I really need to get up early and get my workouts in by the time I finished christmas shopping and got home it was time for supper then had to do dishes so now trying to relax.

Lisa-I had major doms yesterday and still a little in the back today.

Roxie - there's so much to do at this time of year, it's difficult to find time to fit everything in.

Lisa - that lower body TBT is a tough one. I always hurt after that. Sounds like a fun time with the Wii!

Did ME express premix. It's 53 mins just missing the odd exercise here and there. Going to finish writing my Christmas cards and get the last ones in the post.
 
I joined the AT party and did the leg cardio pm- 3 risers thru out, heavier wts, own music and sometimes as slow as half time. Then I did 20 min Pull only pm of PP.

Repair guy comes today for washer. If I replace -there is a basic model at HD for 300 - not my dream model but looks like it would work.

Roxie I hope you get the morning w/o going. I've got to find a groove, too.

Lisa, that sounds fun. We have a Wii, maybe I should try it, too.

Ronne, I'm all about the Express pm these days! good luck getting stuffles done.
 
No w/o today, had to get up and get to the dentist, got there and turns out I needed to take antibiotics before I got there because of my surgery, so I get to repeat this tomorrow morning again. Need to get my teeth cleaned before end of year since I don't have dental ins next yr.

I did walk dogs 1.66 miles yesterday and plan to today and tomorrow before the cold air moves thru again.

This is a busy time of year for alll, I'm not fretting over lost workouts, just that I still haven't lost any more weight even though I've been eating right.

This day has turned out sucky for me and i"d like to just go back to bed and start over. Nothing is turning out right! Hate those kind of days.

I did manage to get up this morning and did X10 Low Impact but I couldn't do Great Glutes tonite my legs are killing me from all the walking I did moving stuff and when I got home I fixed supper and worked on the puzzle we have going so my legs are hurting. Thanks guys for the support but I really need to keep working out I am starting to lose wt.

Lisa - hope you're having a better day today. That is a pain about the dentist.

Jody - hey, we were obviously all in sync! I'm so grateful for the premixes on Cathe's DVDs, I know I'm still getting a good workout. Going heavier, that's impressive! I just use 5lbs for those opening sections.

Did 40/20 today, it was tough!! Struggled in all the usual places and more besides. I think I've really lost some fitness. Also noticing a bit of a belly appearing, yikes! I've been eating as if I've been working out hard but I haven't really. I'm not even going to contemplate cleaning my diet up this side of Christmas though! :eek: Feeling in need of a workout break, I'm finding it a bit hard to choose what workout to do each day as I don't really feel in the mood for any of them. I think a couple of weeks off over Christmas is a good thing and I'm hoping I'll feel more motivated in the new year.
 
Hello girls! Made it back, not richer tho! We had so much fun just walking around, people watching, eating, drinks, and some gambling. One restaurant I have to tell you about tho, it was the Top of the World in the Stratsphere hotel. 109 floors up! The room rotated while you were eating and you could watch the world go by, for MILES! Also, while you were eating people were bungee jumping off the building! About wet my pants when I saw the first person fly by! Now, back to reality! Today did AOLIH. Gotta work off some of these calories! Ronne, the 5 days off of working out was actually so nice! I felt kind of rejuvenated! I say enjoy e holidays and food! Lisa, hope the dentist went better today. So frustrating. Roxie, did I read right? You are starting to lose weight? I like RK, I don't do the combos tho, just the first 2 sections. Jody, do you think you could find a used washer somewhere? Hi Murphy! Have to do wash and get ready for Christmas! Have a good day! Mary, that bungee jumper during dinner sounds hysterical! Welcome back- glad you had fun. I did look on Craigs list but didn't see anything that grabbed me. Also, if buying used I have to deal with install and haul away. Dad came to rescue and has gifted us w/ washer money. PS, the control board has to be replaced- a 300 dollar part. So I'm replacing the washer. : (

Ronne, the heavier wt and 3 risers balances out with slower pace, sometimes Cathe is 2 for my 1. Good job on getting w/o in when you are not feeling it.

Roxie, I'm happy I can reject most boxing w/o without even thinking about it, less to choose from easier sometimes. I feel the same way about Barre. blech.

Lisa how did dentist go? Your insurance comment made me remember I need to spend a day reevaluating my policy in light of all the ACA changes. I'm hopeful I'll get more for less but concerned I'll get less for more. In general, I think most people will have higher rates in order to take care of those who've gone uninsured. But my income bracket may lead to a high supplement. CEO of my hospital commented on changes related to ACA- one concern was that overall people were going to be underinsured, partly b/c the system and tiers are difficult to understand and navigate.

Mary-you read right because I don't have time for lunch and I have been on my everday for the last week so burning more calories then I am eating.

Mary - welcome back! Sounds like a great trip. I love the restaurant story. That's amazing. Yes, it is good to have a break sometimes.

Jody - S&G's an odd one. I like it although I find I have to have really good form for the cardio portion or I can get hurt.

Felt in need of stretching out so did YM. Good bit of strength work as well. Cleared my desk for Christmas, got everything sent off and completed so I'm not going to work at all tomorrow. DD finishes school tomorrow then we're off to visit family for the weekend.
Got to get to the Post Office to send back an incorrect present - grrrr!

hello ladies! I'm here! Haven't Zumba'd yet :) I was in a lazy mood yesterday, maybe because of the valiuum I took before the dentist, I never have any cavities or anything I just dread it and 2 days of dread so I decided to mellow myself out a bit :) I was more mad at myself for forgetting I needed antibiotics, then of course after the visit was over I worked myself up for nothing (sounds like Ronne's daughter with shots :) ) So, Tues aft I did walk the dogs for 2.3 miles, Wed, nothing, both days, laundry-max :) Today I did Intensity, much more do-able when you don't jump and do only 1/2 arms, I gave up on trying to modify the HI HIIT portion but did the LI HIIT.

Roxie, I'm not being very lucky with losing anymore, eating the same as I did when I lost weight before. Maybe it's due to lower metabolism (ie. older so naturally burn less), and less intense w/o's (I can't do jumps, etc). I'm hoping it's some kind of water retention going on. Great that you are losing but I hope you are eating enough?

Mary, the restaurant story was funny, we did the revolving one at Niagara, but the tightrope walker was canceled due to high winds. It'd be even funnier seeing people jump :)

Jody, insurance is a nightmare, seems cost keep going up (thru DH employer), so much so that I decided not to get dental for me or DS21. DS21 can get his thru his employer when he starts in June and as for me, I can go a year with no repercussions. My left muscle (levator scalpuler) from neck to shoulder has been hurting, I think too many bicep curls in AT? a bit frustrating but then I've done nothing (intentionally) for UB last 2 days and still hurts, I'm thinking (and this many sound strange),, that sitting in the dentist SOFT couch for 1.5 hrs waiting for DS made it hurt more. I haven't (and still don't) sit in any soft chairs or couches still. Add in me getting stressed up for dentist for nothing, and I'm ready for my massage tomorrow! lol

Mary, hey, I've been complaining about cooking so DS21 cooked dinner yesterday, wellllll, he was almost done, tipped the olive oil bottle I have it in, broke it, oil went everywhere, he cut his hand pretty bad, thankfully no stitches. I had to finish up dinner, sigh, never a break from cooking for me, but it was real thoughtful of him. I just knew I was scared with him and DH in the kitchen :)

Ronne, I avoid Post OFfice at all costs, especially this time of year! Sounds like work is done and workouts as well?

I have a minute to sit my back and hip are killing me. I didn't get my workout in this morning so I will do it when I get home.

Mary-getting enough to eat is the problem my lunch is a protien bar but I ate bteakfast this morning and I brought and apple and cheese stick to eat on the way home.

Lisa-it was nice of him to try when DH cooks I swear he uses every dish in the cupboards takes me all night to clean up.
 
Hi! no workouts to report but felt SG today. Yes, it is an odd one! I coulda shoulda woulda w/o but didn't, my bad. Did hang w/ a bestie, she got me into Costco. We also went to BBB and Target who has apparently had a huge credit breach and I've been there 3 time during the window. DDSOB.

OK vacation things to do, work any chance I get, write two research papers and prepare 1 hour presentation for each, research and purchase new washer, visit mom often enough to have clean clothes prior to washer, learn all about new insurance possibilities as deadlines approach, buy obligatory family gifts, host family dinner. Put up a tree. Take 92 Camry for repair. Go for a bike ride at that nice park w/ all the trails. Don't get lost. Get cat to vet for annual. Work out. Do affirmations. Connect with higher power. Eat green stuff. Sleep. Remember to do the last ones, most important.

Yes, I'm finished. Work done, most probably workouts as well. May fit one in on Mon/Tues but not sure.
Done the last bit of shopping this morning so all presents sorted at last, and refunds/problems also cleared up.
Just some more food shopping and baking to be done Mon/Tues and we are ready!

Not sure if I'll get back here before Christmas. So just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, hope you all get what you wish for and here's to a healthier and happy 2014!

I did LowMax Step only then drove to work on slick roads but they weren't to bad. I will do abs when bosses leave.

I did LICh , I always forget there are blasts at the end, I think I'm done and when I'm expecting a stretch the blasts start!

Massage was good, I'm relaxing rest of day, especially my neck. She said the soft couch at dentist did make my levator scapular hurt, not my imagination. Said circuit workouts is best for me right now, by 9mths should get better though some people always will have a sensitive side and feel it every 4 weeks, hopefully I'm not one of them, I have my exercising to hopefully not have that happen.

Jody, I have only the sleep thing down, still sleeping 10 hrs a night, but no nap now :)

Roxie, stay safe and get those abs in, do some for me, too.

Lisa, I considered LiCh today but could only remember getting frustrated w/ choreog so I went for a safer bet (TTM). Good job on the workout and glad massage helped.

Mary, yes the washer is present to the family. Does anyone have a HE that they actually like? I'm thinking about a GE toploader traditional, not HE.
