Starting off the new thread for the week.

I did GS BSB....all I could think of was the comment that some of you made last week about "hating band work" . I think I have a Love/Hate relationship with them.

Good morning all,

I'm checking in early because I was actually able to complete an entire w/o! I did the PU premix of Pyramid UB. I had originally planned on doing the upper and lower premix but changed my mind. ;) It feels good to have done something anyway. I actually think I might live now. :D

Hope everyone has a great week! I plan on making this a good one. I'm really going to concentrate on cleaning up my diet again. I've been eating all my comfort foods since I've been sick and it's showing.

Hi everyone! Lisa, you are always so good about starting us all off! I can't believe it is Mon again! Just running around, have to get my workout in, I think B&G, today. It is starting to feel like fall here, I mowed the lawn this weekend, hopefully won't have to do that too many times more, the lawn seem to get bigger everytime! Hope you have a good day. Mary

Hey yall. Just a quick checkin. I did IMAX3 and CM seg 1 today. I had to stop and eat something about 20 min into IMAX 3 because I felt so weak. This is the second time I've had to do this during a workout. Maybe I'm not eating enough now that I'm to my goal weight....I dunno, I'll have to keep playing around with food portions. Anyway, I had my standard breakfast before working out (oatmeal, scoop protein powder) so can't think of another reason. If any of you have any ideas, let me know. I guess the general feeling was of like low blood sugar.

Rhondalyn, glad to see you got in a workout! woo hoo! it's only up from here baby!

Mary, the leaves are falling here....soon it will be leaf raking time. I so loath that! This year I told DH since he has so many vacation days left that he can take off and help me out!

Gotta run....bye!

Hello Everyone!

I've been taking airborne and so far so good.

Today I did MuscleMax then the mail lady delivered my Lauren Brooks kettlebell dvd so I had to check that one out too and did a workout with it.

I'm sure I'll be feeling both workouts in the morning.

Lisa & Ronda thanks for all your help with them .

I ended up ordering The Kettlebell Way , AOS Newport ( for something to work towards) and 8 & 12 kg Kettlebells although when I called performbetter to add Newport they told me the my bells were backordered until the 12th which is 2 weeks away, Newport is shipping with my bells :)

So I'll practice my form with my Go-Fit 15# KB and using the sweatbands helped although I am getting better with those cleans

Oh man I need to get out of here and get my son from practice .

Talk to you all later.

Have a Great Day!!

Hi girls!

My eating has been terrible, since the weekend. Isn't it silly? I workout so hard and ruin it by eating food! BAD evil FOOD! The sort of food we all love to eat it!

Hey Lisa, huge WELL DONE's to you for reaching that goal weight! (I meant to say that ages ago sorry). I don't think I'm ever going to reach my goal weight, ever again!

Vilma - Whats airborne?

Must go and get the girls breakfast. Bye.

Hey everyone, busy running around like everyone else! Today I did S&H CB, I just bought this series, it seems good, just not use to the slow count, I will get used to it. I wish I had more time, Kids coming home, tutoring, errands, dinner ,wash, I need to stop, Hope you have a good night, sorry so short and impersonal! Mary

Hi all. A quick post for me as well. I did GS CT today.

Vilma, have fun with the KBells!

Andrea, time to get real with the eating! It sucks, I know....but don't fall too far off the wagon. :)

Mary, I just can't connect with S&H for some reason, especially CB, those bench presses/flies seem to go on forever.

Rhondalyn, How are you feeling?

Gotta fly for now....

Crap! I just lost my post after responding to everyone.

Anyway......I did the PU premix from Pyramid LB. It was all I needed. I have DOMs from yesterday's w/o and I'm sure I'll feel today's also. The floor work on the ball always gets me.

Lisa, I do feel better. Thanks for asking. Yes, congrats on getting to goal!

That must feel wonderful. I love your new avatar, too. You look like a girl I used to work with. :D

Hi Mary, it's been a long time since I did S & H but I used to really like it. It does seem like it takes forever though.

Ooooh, Vilma, I hope you love your new KBs and w/os. I think you'll like both of them. Newport is good. It's tough, but good. I like FirePower, also. :D So I think you made great choices with you w/os and wt selections.

Are you using gloves?

Hi Andrea! I know what you mean about the eating. I'm really trying to clean my act up again. I've been eating bad for too long.

Hello Ladies :)

Today's workout was : 40 min Lauren dvd KBells and then a mish mosh of CC v6 for a 20 min HIIT.

Well just finished making dinner and everyone including myself are eating lol

My eating has not been the best but I'm trying.

It's esp. hard when I'm the only one whose watching what I put in my mouth with a household of people who love snacks and stuff and really dislike healthy, clean eating but I always make sure lots of veggies are on hand.

They don't like when I go food shopping as I never bring back 'food' to eat lol. The food is cookies, cakes and all my triggers.

Andrea to answer your question about airborne here is the link:http://www.airbornehealth.com/about_whatsinside.php

Lisa I noticed you changed your avatar -- nice!

I'm really liking the KBells although I can't wait for my 18 & 26 pound bells to get here as I see that the 15 is a bit light for me but until they get here I'm hoping I get good form with the 15 # one.

Rhonda I finally got 2 sets of wrist sweat bands that I use but mycleans are getting better . Still plan on using them just in case lol.

Not wearing gloves yet as I want to make sure I'm getting a good feel for the grip.

Do you think I should leave Newport on the shelf for a bit or just jump in with that one when I feel strong?

I haven't received Kettlebell Way yet but looking forward to it since its basically AOS Providence but with more instruction.

Anyway I guess I should go on and join my kids for dinner as I'm sure its cooled enough now.

Take Care everyone :)

Vilma, I jumped right in. :D At first, I would maybe do 2 minutes, rest a minute and jump back in for the last minute on the 4 minute rounds. I just made it work for me. ;) I'm not good at letting new w/os sit around.

Yes, I did change my avatar. I figured it was time since that pic of me and my Mom was quite old (10 yrs), but it had sentimental attachment. So, in my new avatar, did you notice my collarbones?!? It may not seem like much but after losing 45 lbs it's nice to see them again! The avatar is so hard to see since it's so small, but if you go to my profile you will see the bigger picture in my albumn.

Vilma, How was Lauren's dvd? Once you get your KBell way dvd, there is a snatch section....now that will bang up your arms more than the cleans. I'm still trying to perfect that move. I have Newport coming anyday now, Perform better shipped me the wrong dvd, so I'm waiting for them to ship the correct one!

Rhondalyn, don't you need to KBells for Firepower? If so, how many exercises uses 2, and what weights do you use for those?

Oh, and to add, the mess you see behind me in my new picture is my son's room! Not mine! I borrowed his new MacBook to take it thinking it would take a better pic and be easier than the digital I have. I was wrong, but at least I got a more current pic of me.

Hi Lisa,

I'm still popping on and offline while watching tv. ;) Love the collarbones! :D I had to check the dvd to remember all the exercises that require 2 KBs. I ended up buying another 8 and 12 kg after using them for awhile. I usually use my 8 kg for most of the moves that require two.

Alternating C & P.
Alternating static rows.
Alternating double cleans.
Alternatig double chest press.
Double seesaw presses and
Renegade rows. (these are my favorite)

re:KBells

I'm getting ready for bed as its calling me but I had this question in my head and can't relax until I ask.

Lisa & Rhonda
& anyone else who has been using the bells; do you recommend Anthony's clinic dvds?

Since I already have Lauren's dvd & did it today , Kettlebell Way and AOS Newport ordered but I haven't received them yet; is it really necessary to get the clinical dvd or is it just a nice to have?

Is this something I should be looking into seriously to learn proper form etc etc or can I make do with the dvds I have?

Lauren's dvd is very nice and her instructions are through but I noticed she has no get ups in this dvd and I'm having a hard time practicing those when I start up from the floor and don't have room in front of the computer monitor to see good enough.

Thanks :)

Since Kettlebell Way is still not here I don't know what's in that dvd to say I could do without Anthony's clinic.

Vilma,

There are no TGUs in Kbell way (thank goodness!). I don't have Newport yet (waiting patiently for it to be delivered). Perform Better sent me one of the KBell training clinic vol 1 dvds by mistake and I opened the wrapper before I realized (I was excited to get my new workout only to find it wasn't what I ordered). Anyway, I had to preview it since it was opened, right? It was good, but I wouldn't spend the $ on it. Others may have a different opinion, but I try to spend my $ wisely.

I do have the Keith Weber KB dvd from dragon door. It has a good UB section and Ab section. He has TGUs in it. His isn't a good dvd to learn form from, but when I did the TGU section with LIGHT weight I was able to finally figure out the TGU and I think it's just something you have to work at to perfect as it just isn't as natural a move as the others.

Hope that all makes sense and that I don't lead you astray.

Also, maybe there are form pointers in the minute of strength videos here that will help? I've only previewed the first 10 or so....just don't have time.

Hi girls,

Today I did Core Synergy (BOSU). I don't do may w/os that focus only on the core but this one works the legs as well. It's okay. I enjoy using the BOSU but find this particular w/o just a little boring.

I'll probably have to rest tomorrow because I'm having a Thirty-One party. I'm just doing it to support my cousin who is just starting out. I've never even been to one of these parties.
Hopefully, I can get a KB w/o in Friday. :D

Vilma, I agree with Lisa. It's a great set but not absolutely necessary. It does have two w/os on it though. And I think proper form is very important with KBs. I just think you can master it without those particular dvds. Especially if you're trying to save some money. I know that Newport has TGUs.

Just for you darlin'.....

Providence
Intro- joint mobility warm up
Round 1- 2-handed swing, one arm swing, hand to hand swing
Round 2- cleans
Round 3- chest presses
Round 4- squats/sumo deadlifts
Round 5- one leg deadlift
Round 6- windmills into an overhead squat
Round 7- clean and press
Round 8- flip and squat
Round 9- tactical lunges
Round 10- triple crush
Round 11- slingshop into a figure 8 with a static hold
Round 12- seated press
Round 13- one arm row
Round 14- pullovers, russian twists, sicilian crunch
Round 15- 3 minute snatch test
HTH ;)

I may be the weird one but I actually like TGUs.

Anthony does have instructional videos on the TGU on his site.

Gotta run. Lots of work to do. I'll check back in tonight. :D

Hi everyone.

Vilma -let us know what you think of the airborne. I am currently a chinese/western herb and nutrient tablet which I swear by! Its helped me immensley with those awful PMS symptoms, including those dreadful migranes!

Lisa Lovely collar bones!:) My eyes went stright to the collar bones when i first saw that avatar and I thoght -WOW! Bones!!;)

Rhondalyn I havn't tried kettlebells. I can't see that there would be a huge difference from weights? And I am sure I would hit myself in the head with one!:D

I am pleased to report, I've managed to eat fairly well yesturday! I say fairly well, I did eat some sweets. Lets see how i go today!

Checking in!

Hi, everybody! For my workout today I did ... nothing! It's my day off -- I got to sleep in until 6:30! I'm a happy camper! :D

Happier still that I managed to get a full tank of gas yesterday (only had to wait in line for 15 minutes!), so I'm not running on fumes anymore! :D It's pretty stressful to watch the gauge dip lower and lower as you pass one gas station after another that has no gas! :(

It's a new month, so naturally I haven't plan my workouts yet, but I will get on that right away, since they've made improvements to the Workout Manager.

I hope everybody is feeling well!

Vilma, I've used Airborne (I like the pink grapefruit flavor), but I don't know if it's kept me healthier or not. It's hard to know if I would have gotten sick without it, but who wants to take the chance?

Rhondalyn, kettleballs? That's one workout accessory that I have yet to buy. I wonder if I have the coordination for it. While bowling (badly) last weekend I clunked myself in the thigh when I swung the ball forward to release it. Predictably, it was a gutter ball!

Lisa, I like your new picture! Your hair color is lighter than in the other picture! And we can see your face better! I'll confess: As an over-40 person, my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I've got magnifying glasses stashed all over the house!

Okay, I've got to go run the "what are we going to have for dinner?" gauntlet. It's gotten easier since my DH realized that he needs to cut down on the carbs. Now he's eating more like I do, so I don't have to include starchy foods at every meal!

Marriage must give men amnesia ... when we met, he could cook. Now he can't even find the toaster in the kitchen! :D

Hi Ladies, quick hi and to tell you I won't be posting as much. Poo poo hit the fan today.....DH has 30 days to find a job or he is laid off....after 29.5 yrs! I'm in shock. We have to get our ducks in a row and if it takes it, I may have to go back into IT (if I can find a job....I hear that mainframe people are going to be in more demand since the older workers are retiring). very scary for us....I may even cancel my STS
