40 & over checkin - week of 9/14

Hi everyone.

I Today was a rest day. I've had a really great weekend workout wise. And today I am really really sore and the best thing would be to give the body a break. I think I will try a Advanced Jari rotation for a couple of weeks try to lose kilos that way. Actually I wouldn't care if the weight went up as long as my body "looked" thinner! And the clothes loosen up just a bit.
 
Hello Lisa, Andrea & All who follow.

I was sick last week so mid week I ended up taking needed rest days as I ended up with fever and body aches.

Feeling better now although my ear feels a bit hurtful but I'm doing MM anyway.

I also have to continue w/ my PU that also went on the wayside when I got sick last week.

Kept getting up last night and didn't get that restful sleep I was hoping for - ah well can't win 'em all. :)

Good morning, everybody! I survived Imax 2 this morning. I'm still not 100%, but I'm trying. I hope everybody else who has been sick is feeling better, and I hope everybody who has been healthy stays that way! :D

Good morning all! Hurricane Ike passed thru here last night, now today, no school for the kids. I hate to sound disappointed, but today would have been the first day I would have been alone for more than an hour and a half in my house, now it won't happen again for 3 weeks! Ok, I'm done whining. Sinuses getting better slow, but sure. Hope the rest of you are better. I need to get back on track with my w/o's. Hello to all and hope you have a great day. Mary
 
Hi girls,

I'm feeling better too. My throat still feels a little scratchy but isn't sore anyway. I did P90X+ Total Body this morning. I had planned on an iTrain w/o but my nano wasn't charged. I'll do that tomorrow.

Wow Mary! Do you mean that they'll be off for 3 weeks due to Ike? We got some wind and our electricity was off most of the day but not too bad, all in all. It was much worse north of us.

I hear you Kathryn. I'm not 100% either but I'm trying. :) I got nauseated just past the half way mark this morning and I think it had more to do with my recent illness than anything else. :( Glad you're doing better too.

Vilma, it sounds like we were all feeling bad last week. I hope you get some rest tonight.

Andrea, I honestly wouldn't care how much I weighed either if my clothes would just loosen up some. :eek: Have fun with Jari.

Sounds like there's been some sickness going around lately.:( I've been really busy and haven't been able to check in. Trying to get back on the wagon ...

Andrea - it's definitely not about the scales but about how you feel!

Kathryn - good job on Imax2. Those plyos always kill me!

Mary - I don't blame you for whining - it's hard enough if my DD's off school for one day never mind three weeks!

Rhondalyn - how's the push-up challenge going?

Did GS C&T today and managed all the push-ups with extra breaks. First time ever!
 
I think I am confusing everyone!! The way my DH's days off, my days off and the kids being in school, I won't get to have any significant time alone for 3 more weeks! I have been waiting for this day for months (since JUne!) We are in OH, Ike made its way up here last night, Winds were still pretty strong and knocked out power lines. Apparently, our electric companies sent crews to Texas prior to the storm to help out after the fact, and now they are short handed here to fix all the downed lines. So the kids are off school, like a snow day, but a wind day! I did PLB today for the 1st time in awhile, my thighs are still talking to me! Ronne-good job on the push-ups, those are a challenge! Happy Monday ladies! I did PLB today and since I enjoyed my run so much yesterday I decided to run 3.5 miles. I know I'll have DOMS tomorrow from PLB...I always get it from that one plus I upped my weights (I now lift 10 lbs heavier than Cathe) and my glutes were fried by the time the stability ball work started.

Kathryn, I have IMAX 2 on tap this week sometime too. That one is so fun and you feel so accomplished after you are done.

Ronne, Welcome back, we missed you! My new job is an admin asst to a nutrionist. I hope to learn a lot about nutrition and at some point she is going to test my blood (it's amazing what you can see in one drop of blood) and body fat and give me pointers all free of charge. She's a great lady and I basically set my own hours.

Rhondalyn, the job is going good so far. My boss seems very happy with what I'm doing--I get the feeling like she had issues with the last person. I've been able to showcase all my computer skills. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Vilma, welcome back to you too. I did MM Saturday and my pecs were fried....I finally figured out today that I had used heavier weights than I normally do without realizing it. I used dumbbells that were 3 lbs more than I normally do....I guess that proves that I could have been lifing heavier.

Andrea, you will have to tell me what you think about the advanced Jari rotation. I'm one of the people that actually bought that from her website but I've never done it. :confused:

Mary, I hear ya about alone time! You know, one of these days after the kids are gone we will probably be wishing they were around more. :confused: I have to always try to live in the moment.

Sorry I did not post yesterday, but it was crazy and work and at work is usually the only time I get to use a computer. Plus, the one at home is so slow. Anyway, yesterday was an unplanned rest day. Today is kickbox. See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone.

I'm not sleeping/can't sleep and I've gotten fed up tossing and turning. My youngest appeared in our bed earlier and woke me up and I've not been able to get back to sleep:mad::mad: Hate THAT!! So thought I'd pop in say hi. So Hi. However, I don't think I'll start bouncing around the lounge room working out (DM) I might go and do some houswork - that'd save me from doing it during daylight hours. Yeah, thats what I'm gunna do.

Bye, I'm off to do something tiresome, that will hopefully encourage this body back to sleep.
 
Hey Ladies,

I did iTread Tag Team 34 today and it just about killed me. I had to rest on the cycle part for a while.

This is a four part w/o. It moves from the TM->elliptical->bike->TM again. And it has a nice stretch at the end. It's a good w/o but Grace is too loud. I had to turn it up some to hear Keith and Buddy good but that made Grace too loud.

Get some sleep Andrea. I'm sorry you had to get up.

Lisa, I think that would be a great job to have. I'm glad it's going well. :)

I understand Mary. I'm a little dense at times. Be patient please. :p The same thing happened here with all the repair crew off to help elsewhere.

Hi Ronne, I had to give up on the PU challenge. I was getting exertion headaches every time I tried them so I gave it up for a bit. I'd like to try again though.

Hi everyone, today was my rest day and I'm just popping in after my day at work. It went well today, busy because of a backlog of stuff, but good.

Rhondalyn, that tag team WO sounds fun. Your home gym is a perfect place to do it ! I'll be over tomorrow to WO with you :p

Andrea, I've been having a lot of issues sleeping lately too. I'm tired of waking up and not getting back to sleep. I've had lots of things going on this past month but I also feel hormonal, I'm DYING for this to get resolved! One night even a sleeping pill didn't keep me asleep.....GRRRRRR. My boss, the nutrionist, has a sleep ease pill (all natural). Sometime in the future I might ask her about getting some as she said it works well. If it does I may have all you 40+er's as buyers, eh? :D

Murphy, I hope you got to your kickboxing today. Those unplanned rest days always have a way of catching you don't they.

Hi all! Missed posting yesterday, so many things with the kids!! I am doing the Dec. '06 rotation this time, My legs are still so sore from PLB on Mon. My thighs hurt to the touch! I don't know what I did, hopefully I will get the legs of a goddess soon! Lisa, I'm glad you are enjoying your job, hey, let us know about those natural sleeping pills, she has a huge market here!! Rhondalyn, that w/o sounds like fun! I wish I had all that equipment here. Andrea, hope that you are sleeping! Hi to Vilma, Murphy and Ronne and everyone else I forgot. Have agood day. Mary

I planned to do something different today, but all I had a chance to do was walk. Not that there is anything wrong w/ that, I just feel like I have enough weight to lose that I should be doing more. I know, do what you can when you can.

Lisa, I waited for you to come all day to w/o with me and since you didn't, I didn't either. ;) I'm just still not feeling up to par. Although my throat doesn't hurt like it did, it still irritates me and I just felt wiped out today. I'll get back at it tomorrow, hopefully. :D I guess I shouldn't complain though. At least I can sleep at night.:)

Rhondalyn - it sounds like you've got a nice set-up at home. Lucky you!

Lisa - the new job sounds interesting. I'm sure you'll learn lots (and pass it on!).

Mary - I got PLB recently and have done it a couple of times. I have to say I much prefer PUB as I find it a bit repetitive. But I sort of switch off during the standing work and it's over before I realise!

Hope all the non-sleepers manage to get some!

I'm doing Amy Bento's Hi-Lo today (a premix as the whole thing is toooo long and v tough!).

Todays workout was MIC. OMG! I'd forgotten how tough that was! My calves are screaming at me! I was surprised that I managed to complete it as I havn't done any HIC for a long long time.

I'm very awkward with those sashays. For some reason, I don't like them and they don't like me. I end up doing some wiggly, leg kick type of thing with a lot of explenatives at cathe, "Why would you put these silly things in a workout? Who in their right mind wants to do a bleep sashay? Whats that weight doing there? Ouch? Just sasahyed right into the couch Alright woman, ENOUGH with the sashays!

Nope, don't like those sashays AT ALL!:mad:

Lisa and Rhondalyn I love those smiley criters, they make your posts look friendly and fun!
