40 & over checkin - week of 11/2

Yep...It's November already...wow! I did Kbell way yesterday and used my 26# for swings, BOY did I FEEL it! Today I have DOMs in glutes and hammies but I still did iTread set 9 40 mins. I had to push myself to do it, but afterward felt great and probably could have run longer but was happy it was over as well.

Sounds like everyone had a nice Halloween. I've only had maybe 4 M&M's since Thursday, can you believe it?!?!?! I really want some chocolate bad but I tell myself it's only my mouth wanting it, not my body.

DS is doing well have his wisdom teeth extrations. His friends came over Halloween and spent time with him for about an hour....10 of them!

Vilma, I don't have Steve Cotter's so I can't compare Newport to that. I'll have to pull Newport out and give it another whirl next time I do kettlebells. I think starting Wed I'm going to start Cathe's May07 rotation that is all premixes.

Katherine, I don't do well with anesthesia and nausea either. When I had my endometrial ablation (yes they put you out) I was real nervous about being sick from the anethesia and I told the anethesioligist about it. He asked if I got motion sickness, and I do, BIG TIME. He said that a lot of people like that do well with the ear patch. So they put one on and I never had any nausea at all ! I'll never go under without an ear patch again! Maybe that will help you? I have a slight umbilical hernia but my gyn says if it doesn't cause pain to leave it alone and I'm all for that! That's great about your DH! I bet his tests are going to be great....I have lots of diabetes in my family so I'm trying to be viligent about that but the sweets are soooooo good!

Anyway, I've managed to work out 5 days on the trot which is the most for 3 weeks. Did LM premix today and really enjoyed pulling that out. I think someone asked about what cardio I like last week. I did Amy Bento's Hi-Lo Cardio Knockout at the end of last week. It's one of my current favourites. Unfortunately, I think the DVD is scratched as it started sticking at the end. I'm hoping it's just the stretch that's affected as I can manage that on my own! I'd be really p***ed off if I couldn't use it!

Hi everyone. Hope you had a great weekend, we just hung out, visited with friends we hadn't seen in a while. It was nice! Today was Jari, RTTC, I hadn't done that in a long time. Does any one else have this? Does yours have a w/u, or does yours go straight to the squat and lunge track? Yesterday was aerobox on Kathy Smith with Micheal Olajide, I decided I don't like jumping rope! Ronne, is Amy's HI/LO hard? I am always afraid of her cardio, like I'll drop dead or something! Lisa, WOW! Impressive w/o! Hope that your son is feeling better. Kathryn, hello! Hope your dad is doing well, I keep him in my prayers. Happy Monday everyone, did you enjoy your extra hour this weekend? Is anyone getting up earlier than normal --- like about an hr earlier? My internal clock needs to get adjusted! I did MM upper body premix and core work today, tomorrow is my rest day and my DS will be home for the day from college. DH flies out to chicago today -- I'm taking him to the airport.

Mary, you sure are doing a lot of Jari Love....it's been awhile since I've done RTTC and I have a bad memory when it comes to remembering exactly what is in a workout.

Ronne, good work on your workouts! I forget a lot too....sometimes I have to open 2 browsers so I can reference what was written previously. Some things I have a knack for remembering, others, well....not so good.

Yes, it is me. Last week was just crazy. This week I hope will be a little better. I did Crunch Bootcamp yesterday and Cathe's Core dvd (forgot the name). I am going to try to follow the November rotation, w/ modifications. I hope everyone is okay as well as their loved ones.

Hi all

Yes, Mary, the AB Hi-Lo is tough but it's great. I never do it all the way through as it would kill me! There are cardio and intervals, I either do two of the segments or cardio or intervals only. The choreography's quite tricky but it keeps it interesting. I also like the ab work at the end.

Murph - hope your week's not so crazy!

Probably doing some yoga this evening but that's all.

Almost a day off -- by accident!

Hi! I forgot to set my alarm, so could only do half of the 4 Day Split High Impact Step (or whatever it's called). Will have to do the weights later this afternoon (ha, ha).

That is why I work out first thing in the morning -- it's almost impossible for me to fit it in later in the day. And I don't feel motivated in the afternoon, either. :(

Gotta run and try to squeeze in the rest of my workout before hauling DS to his after-school program at 6:00. Otherwise, I'll feel so guilty!

You know that saying about not relying only on your weight to see if you are in shape? Well, in looking at some of the client files today, I'm a believer in the fact that you can weigh more than someone else and be shorter, but be fitter.

Case in point...an example person was 5'9", 130, and 24% body fat.....I'm 5'5", 140 (with clothes and food/liquid), and 23% body fat! Having my body fat test done really showed me how far I've come! It's almost motivation to stay away from sugar! I wish chocolate would quit calling my name!:p
 
I hear you!

Lisa, our house is FULL of Halloween candy! Chocolate is screaming my name! I'm trying really hard to be good, but it's a perfect storm for pigging out: Halloween, PMS, and stress! Now is not the time for me to step on the scale!

I'm so glad that you realize you're making progress. I think the scale can be such an enemy. When somebody says, "I lost 10 pounds!" your first question should be, "Of what?" Because I've noticed that as my overall weight has increased, my muscle weight has gone up and so has the weight of my bones. My body fat has decreased -- both in pounds and percentage. (I love my scale!).

So I guess I have to accept that all the weight that I've added is good :D weight, not bad :mad: weight!

Any progress is good progress.
 
LIsa, Kathryn Ladies, the way I see it is this, if the clothes are not so tight, who gives a flying clothes horse WHAT the scales say!!!!!! I never jump on the scales these days. Too depressing, so I go by the clothes, if they are losening then i am one happy chappy.

Mary - I am a bit of a Jari fan, however, I'm putting her to rest for a little while. I really like RTTC but I don't know what a W/U is? I'm guessing you mean warmup? Mine has a warmup track.

Ronne - What yoga do you do? I'm not baggin Amy B but I really like her weight workouts, but her form! It drives me nuts! Cathe has such great form both on her cardio and her weights. How do you find Amys form on the Hi/Lo stuff. Thats the only thing putting me off trying a cardio of hers.

Hello Miss Vilma and Miss Rhondalyn. Hows the vit B going Vilma?

O.K heres the scoop. Those men at work (one in particular) is driving me around the twist! Today was another bad day for him, I bounce into the office -happy even though I had no sleep and was vomiting for some reason last night. Anyway, in I go, hows everything going, i ask. His reply, "S**tHouse, I wish i were dead I'm sick of this Fing s*** and I'm sick of this place (work) on and on he went. Luckily, I got called away, and could leave him. I headr him going on all day to whoever walked into the office telling them the same sort of stuff. Its not the stuff he's saying its the agression and unpleasantness that goes along with it thats really awful. The language etc.... (Don't get me wrong, i am not a prude and I walk into to work and swear too) but his is real anger swear, agressive, violent (cause theres the throwing of stuff around the office too)

PHEW. I feel better now. Think I'll go and cuddle my children and mushy happy stuff.

Oh sheesh! Has it been so long that I've posted here?

I swear if I don't post in the early am I never get a chance to post at all usually.

At this time of day I have no time for personbals but my goal is to do just that when I can get back here in the evenings - Keeping my fingers crossed.

Today I plan on CCv7 and My workouts have been consistent so thats good.

Drat I wish I had more time to 'talk' with you all but I have to get ready to get the kids off to school this morning.

Katherine, Do you have a tanita scale or something like that? I've heard that they are not all that reliable, but then I got to thinking that now that I know my bodyfat, that maybe I should buy one and then I'll know how far off it is and I can monitor that way. What kind do you have?

Andrea, I need some sort of measuring device besides clothes, because I always think the dryer shrunk them, not that I gained! :p As far as those people at work, I empathize with you. I dislike being around negative people (my sister is one of them), and sometimes I just can't take it and that's when I choose not to answer her phone calls. It's a self protecting mechanism, and I'm worth it. If your self protecting mechanism is venting to us, then go for it! We support you!

Managed to get a workout in today - no builders around for two days! Did an SJP/SB cardio premix. Great fun!

Andrea - I never weigh myself either! Don't care about what the scale says - it's how I feel.
Sorry to hear about your irritating colleague. I can't imagine anything worse than having to deal with someone like that at work everyday. Do your best to tune him out!
At the moment, I'm doing Eoin Finn podcasts for yoga. Someone on the forums mentioned them and I downloaded the lot (about 8 I think so far). They're great - all different lengths and I just love his voice!
I know lots of people have problems with Amy's form. Things like that don't bother me - I just love the variety. Cathe's cardio is good because it's easy to follow but sometimes I like something a bit more complicated even if sometimes I stare at the TV and go 'WTF?!'

Kathryn - muscle is good! Just think of all the calories it burns just by being there!

I had a day off work today and boy, I needed it. I'm just Like you Lisa, its for my own mental well being, I need to avoid stress.

My workout was half of what I intended to do, Just shoulders GS and MIS. I wanted to do the bis as well, but I just ran out of time.

I'm running out of time now too.

Hi Ladies.

Rest Day for me today.

DH & I are going to check out a new community thats being developed with the same builder we are interested in. The development we wanted to eventually move to only has 30 lots left and they will probably be sold before ds graduates in 2010 - If it wasn't that we are waiting for him to finish his last two years of HS we would've put this house up for sale already and making plans to move closer to DH's job.

I ended up doing CCV& and that is surely my favorite so far. Love it Love it.

Hi, everybody! Just a quick post today -- I did 4 Day Split Boot Camp (for the first time). It's a good thing I didn't know what was coming because I didn't know how much to dread doing it!

Off to play golf today -- we've got beautiful weather and that probably won't last much longer, so I want to enjoy while I can!
