40 & over checkin - week of 11/2

Hi Ladies! I did L&G Xtreme Premix...and it was extreme! I wondered if I would make it through at times, I'm sure my legs are going to be talking to me tonight! I've been feeling pretty good this week so yesterday I added on CCv2. I figure maybe there are a few things that I've changed that maybe be adding to my higher energy level.
1. Less stress than in October
2. I've eliminated a lot of the sugar I was eating for the last week and a half. During October with the stress, I was bad and would have a little, little piece of cake maybe 5 times a week, who would have thought that would make a difference? I think the sugar withdrawal may have been contributing to my headaches last week.
3. Increased fish oils based on nutritionist recomendation. I think these help maintain cell membranes and allow the red blood cells to carry oxygen better.
4. Maybe the probiotics? These were supposed to make it so the cell membrane absorbs more nutrients.

I've been doing some research and reading and find this same kind of info in different places. I know some will say it's all quackery.....well, I do feel better, so that's all that counts.

I've gotta run, and get out of these workout clothes as I'm sitting here freezing....I want your nice weather Katherine!

LIsa - I don't know. I don't think it is ALL quakery. I've started in the past few months to add bits and pieces of herbs/vitamins apple cider vinegar and next I will go in for the Vit B, but get advice from the naturopath first.

I will look you straight in the eye and tell you I feel HEAPS better. So, Do what works for you! Don't get sucked in by those those who think its all just garbage. If you feel better, saty with it, its doing its job!:)

Hello Vilma - I'm confused (easily done) Didn't you sell/move house a couple of months back?

Kathryn - How was golf? I played golf once or twice - golf days through work, and loved it! But that was only because I got to talk all the way around the golf course and had a great time. Got into lots of trouble from the "serious" golfers!;) Boy "they" take it very seriously!

I'm taking to girls to the show today, I guess it would be a bit like your State Fairs? Scary rides, merry go rounds (my kinda ride) show bags, animals etc.. We've gotten out of bed and the weather is not being friendly at all.

See yas.

Hi everyone, I started to post and it all disappeared? Anyway, mowed the grass one last time for the year, took a lot longer b/c of all the leaves, that will be my w/o for the day! Did PH yesterday for the 1st time, I thought it was way harder that JarI! Andrea, hope you had fun at the fair! I love those, all the food, fries with vinegar, lemonade, etc! Lisa, I don't have L&G, that w/o sounds a little intense. If your vitamins and all are making you feel better, and changing your diet is working, I would stick with it, it works for you and who cares what others say or think, it is your life, not theirs. I have read about the fish oils and was thinking of trying that myself, I read it really helps with the skin. Kathryn, didn't you just love the bootcamp, it is so fun, I always feel like I am in gym class! Hope the golf was a good time, I love to drive the cart and then have a tasty beverage! Hi to Vilma, Ronne, and Murphy. Have a good night. Mary

Happy Friday! A light workout for me today. KPC Cardio premix (only 37 min) plus the ab section.

Andrea, what type of supplements are you taking? Any tidbits of info you can give us from what the naturopath tells you is most welcome!

Mary, I still have yet to get that last mowing in....it's been windy here lately (hate the wind)....we get chinooks that blow down off of the foothills of the mountains and it gets quite bad (can get up to 80mph although it hasn't been that bad lately thankfully)....maybe next week sometime I can get that last mowing & sucking up of the leaves in...wanna come help? :p

Katherine, I'm not a bootcamp lover, but it's fun to add into the mix once in a while. I do prefer it over kick boxing. I think DM is a bit bootcampy (is that a word), but I found myself jumping pretty high this week with it on the lateral hops forward and then jumping to turn around to go the other way. I almost had fun!

Hellos to Vilma, Rhondalyn, Murphy, Ronne, and anyone else I forgot or who are lurking.

Have a great weekend!

Lisa "Gunna Andrea" is "gunna" make the appt with the naturopath - soon. Probably within the next fortnight anyway and I'll keep you posted.

Need some advice - Which would you recommend as a better cardio the home spinning class or the elleptical training? I'm think of buying one or the other for christmas. My idea now is to keep with the weights but attempt to mix up the cardio and do maybe 20- 30 mins of cardio each workout.
