I just got 4DS this week and was having a hard time deciding where to start, so I opted for the Kickbox plus Upper Body workout (103 min. ) to try out a lot of the sections at once. The KB part was great and fun, some familiar moves and some new, the workout flew by, and is a perfect cardio add on for a day with weights, not too hard, but I worked up a good sweat. I liked the fast upper/hook combo a lot.
So the upper body combined back/chest, shoulders, bi and triceps. This was beyond a thorough upper body workout, I kind of pooped out a bit when we hit triceps, and even had a small protein shake to get through the bi/tri section, I did end up skipping a few sets and modifying some of them. The 3 sections each had 5 rounds, 1 of the rounds involved using a band, and the others used really heavy weight.
One very cool feature, is the pre-mixes combine workouts from both dvds, not just the one you are using, so there are so many different ways to workout with these 4 workouts.
I can see the workouts on their own will be super effective, so I might go with the more traditional approach of using them closer to how they were designed to be split, but I will always sub the step with either the KB, bootcamp or another 30 minute cardio.
Sometimes I wonder 'what took me so long' to get something, but I'm so glad I waited on these until I needed something new.
I really like the way the sets were put together, and the focus on using heavier weights. And even through this longer premix I was never bored or counting the minutes until it ended. I was however pretty spent by the end .
Thanks again Cathe!
