30,45, or 60 minutes ??

Ok, every other day I work out with weights, I do the 20 workout of legs and glutes on Maximum Intensity Strength, then I do 20 to 25 minutes of the leg exercises on The Terminator dvd ... I want to lose weight in my legs, butt and thighs. I am thinking about getting the Muscle Endurance video, or the Power Hour + M.I.S & Body Max dvd ... suggestions please on the minutes and which one I should get ... Thanks so much ..... Rhonda:7 :7

p.s. other other day I do about 40 to 60 minutes or more of abs .. I really needed that after 2 kids and not working out until I got to 43 lol .........
 
BY FAR, you should get MIS, PH, and BodyMax. There are so many lower body possibilities with these. I would do the BodyMax leg circuits with the PH lunges section...that would be a killer. Or MIS with PH or BodyMax with MIS....you get the picture. Don't really understand what you mean concerning suggestions on the minutes..please elaborate. Muscle Endurance would offer you little.

Ok, I get it now. DUH.

I do 60 min. leg workouts, but I tend to do them only once per week with pretty heavy weights. The amount of time you should spend on legs would be directly related to how much weight you need to lose or how little mass you have in that area. Also, it would matter how heavy your weights are. Using heavy enough weights and really pushing to failure, I do not see how poeple can work legs again in one day. I always stay sore probably 2-3 days after a heavy intense lower body day. You really will need to play with it. But since your ultimate goal is weight loss and assuming you have a fair amount of muscle mass in your legs already, I would suggest breaking it up into 2 days or possibly 3 cutting the time spent to 30 or even 20 min. each, with the heaviest weight you can use. If you combine these workouts with cardio, I think you would see the greatest metabolism increase possible since you would be working the large muscle groups atleast 3 times per week.

PH will be a doozy when you first try it so be careful. If you do BodyMax leg circuits, I would count that as cardio for that day and just do an additional 20-30 min. heavy legs after.

Thanks for the input about muscle endurance .. maybe get that one later, I am about 5' 3" maybe an inch more. I weight 125 lost 13 lbs.. see the beaming smile :7 .. anyway my hips are 39 inches, I want to lose 2 more inches in that area ... and I hope to have it done or mostly done by vacation time the end of July, hope hope ... I eat right, I exercise as much as I can, I walk on my treadmill 45 minutes everyday, so thats my cardio :7 ... like between yesterday morning and last night I did about an hr and 20 minutes on abs ... I don't want to wear myself out, I just want to achieve my goal :7 ... So PH, MIS and Body Max it will be ... I haven't even gotten started on any of the step routines .. just been focusing on the other stuff that I really need .... so thanks so much again, I appreciate it:7 ... your fitness friend Rhonda ... Remember, if you build up your upper body, not only do you balance out your strength, and make yourself better able to lift the bar for leg work; but also, more developed shoulders, lats, defined chest and arms make the lower body look smaller.
