Love my Magic Bullet! Use it all the time with ice and frozen berries, no problem and very affordable with what you get. I've had mine x 3 years and no problems.

The Oster Classic Beehive is supposed to be a good one. Google "Blender Reviews" and you'll get some unbiased agency opinions.

Another vote for the Bullet. Had mine for over 5 years and still works like the day I got it. It's the best thing I found for chopping ice for smoothies, too.

My favorite blender is NOT low noise! With power, comes noise.

I also have a Vitamix, and love it!
It not only makes smoothies with frozen whole strawberries with not problem breaking them down, but it makes creams and spreads out of cashews, and soups out of a bunch of stuff thrown together.

BUT, if you are only looking for a blender to make smoothies, and you want one that's not as noisy (I wear earmuffs when I use my Vitamix..most of the time...because the noise level is enough to cause hearing damage), a Magic Bullet is good (it will NOT break down whole frozen strawberries, though, without a lot of work, so thaw them a bit ahead of tiime. And it's limited to a 12-16 (?) once container (I found the larger container and the 'juicer' attachement that came with my first Magic Bullet more or less useless).

Osterizer. I used to have a quieter one but now I have one with1/hp. It's awesome and I got it for $40. My mother has her Osterizer from before I was born (or my sister). They're well built machines, does the job, and doesn't cost that much.
