Cathlete
Hi everyone,

I hope you don't mind me posting now, as I'm sure I'll miss it if I wait until I get up. I haven't been checking in because I've had a killer migraine...I think it was for about 6 days. I tried my very best to stay on my chosen rotation but eventually had to throw in the towel. I started working out again on Saturday & wouldn't you know it, I lost phone service (during the snow storm) so no computer! When I got home tonight the phone was back on. So here I am!

Josie, I read about your accident...how terrible! SO glad you're on the mend.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going on another rotation or just freelancing until HC. Probably the latter. I think I'll do some rebounding today.

Have a great day everyone...I've missed you guys!
Ruth:) :)

Ofcourse noone minds that you're posting early.

Ruth, I throw in the towel if I have a mere headache, let alone a migraine. Don't feel bad about it.

There's snow here (not even half an inch) but I'm terrified of slipping and twisting my knee, so instead of a 6K run, I have been on my elliptical for 45min followed by MIS and added on CTX back (I'll be adding on one body part per day to my usual daily exercise this week).

I have a really bad case of TOM this time: I feel really cold, major headache (took a few paracetamols before working out), tummy ache and general bleh. I'm glad it only gets this bad once or twice a year:-(

Josie, hope you're feeling better today.

Sandra, I've never done that KPC/L&G premix before. I think I'll try it later this week.

Have a great day,

Dutchie

Ruth...nice to see you back...:)...sorry about the migraine. That really has to slow things down...hope you are feeling better soon.

Dutchie...I think that was a good decision not to go out for fear of slipping and injuring your knee! You did a good workout and crosstraining is helpful to running.

Its raining here, which is better than that fog last week. I'm doing PS standing legs and shoulders, then adding CTX shoulders and I think PUB abs, those killer planks are calling to me...I'll squeeze in a 6 mile run too....:)

Have a great day ladies...Carole

Hi everyone,

This morning was IMAX 2.

Today is my doctor's appointment. I have no idea what they'll do but I can't wait. I'm looking forward to hearing the doctor actually confirm that I'm pregnant- that might make it seem more like it's real and not just an amazing dream!!!:)

Ruth and Dutchie- Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Carole- you running queen you- nice workout!:)

Josie- how are you feeling today?

Have a great day everyone,
Wendy

Good morning!

Yesterday I did Leaner Legs for the first time and wow that was a toughie}( Oh god the music was so awful though there really are no words to adequately describe itx( The best part of the music was during abs and cooldown!
Although LL was definitely tough, I think that L&G is a lot harder....as tough as this workout was, I was still able to walk with no problem; after doing L&G for the first time, I had to drag myself out of my basement because my legs had turned to total mush:eek:!!! I am going to try All Step today!

Jes, hey, I wasn't laughing at you I was laughing with you!!! So you know what I am sending a very big hiya kick your way KPC style so you better watch out girlfriend}( }( :p, LOL!! BTW how is DH doing?? Did you mention the dr told you that you have no frontal sinuses???? Holy cow, that's a revelation but should explain so much regarding your awful headaches.

Wendybdh, congratulations!! Let us know how your appt. goes!!!

Ruth good to see you back! I hope you and Dutchie feel better soon.

Have a great day!

Hello Everyone,

I think I will attempt RS tonight. The infamous combo #3 is my downfall.

Everyone that isn't feeling great! Get well quickly! :) I feel for you all.

Have a great day!

Laurie Mac

Morning all! Well, I had to take my car in at 7:00 this morning so I could only do a short workout. So, I did the Timesaver #3 workout. It was so much fun though because it has the 1st and 2nd SB combo.

Ruth - A migraine for 6 days!!! I had one for 2 and half days last week and thought I was going to die. You poor thing. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Dutchie - Hope you are feeling better soon. At least with TOM you know it's only temporary.

Carole - Planks are calling to you? I'm usually yelling at planks to go away!

Wendy - Oh how exciting! Let us know how it goes!

Sandy - I'm glad that you compared LL with L&G. I've really been debating purchasing L&G, but didn't know how it would stand up with LL. I like LL, but I have to agree that most of the music from CTX is not that great. I much prefer the BB music.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

So Ruth I take it the migraine is gone now. Since you said " had" a killer migraine. I hope so they are no fun at all.

I did cardio today in the form of CTX Kickbox. Boy oh boy doing punching after doing upper body yesterday was really painful.;( :+ :( I could feel every muscle that I worked yesterday screaming at me today!!!

Hope you all have a great workout!!:7 :D

Hi everybody.Ruth I hope you and Dutchie will feel better soon. Carole there is not great weather here too. It is cold.wendy I hope your dream will come true.sandy I don't like the music in LL too. I prefer the music of L & G. Laurie mac I thought the same about the 3 combo of ST with those cha chas over the board, the pendulums and the drop squats. It is question of time.Today I start the January rotation. Today is SJP. Have a great day everybody.

Good morning!

This morning I did All-Step and PUB, minus the planks/pikes. I'm very easily winded these days; it's like I've regressed two years in my cardio training. Oh well, that's a good thing. At this point in my failed pregnancy I was still working out full blast, because I still had the energy for it. Being this tired is very reassuring.

Josie, that fall was horrific!! What went through your mind as your face was careening towards the pavement? I am sending lots of good healing vibes your way. I hope your recovery bed is surrounded with photos of the grandson?

Sandy, so you found LL easier that LG, hey? I find just the opposite. I wonder if the amount of weight we each use on the different workouts makes the difference. Didn't you about want to keel over during the plie low-ends, at the end? They get me every time! The music in LL barely registers for me. Ergo, I find it better than the rest of the series :) I use the CTX series as pepper throughout my month, so I don't get exposed to the music too frequently. In small doses I'm quite okay with it.

Jes, no sinuses hey? And did they check your dna to find out if you're human? Maybe you're actually a descendant from that Martian invasion that occured in the Mojave (sp?) desert in the fifties? It would explain a lot. Without meaning to poke more fun at you, does this lack of sinuses cause you breathing problems, or cause you to snore at night?

Ruth, so nice to see you back! I wish you're absence had been for better reasons than a migraine! They were going around something awful last week. Are you all drinking from the same water system? Glad to hear you're feeling better again!

Marie, welcome to the daily check in! I look forward to hearing about your workouts, and anything else you care to chat about. I've got a 4 1/2 year old daughter who is a Cathe fan, too. They're adorable at this age! The Gauntlet is a tough one! You are obviously not new to working out, if you can get through that!

Wendybdh, have fun at your dr's appointment! Mine's not for another 3 weeks. Ho hummmmm. Good work on IMAX2!

Katie, HIGH FIVE!!! How wonderful to get back into your workouts!!! And I hate planks too. Blech! :p

Lisa, Sandy, and Jes, strawberries, YUM! Chocolate-dipped, even MORE YUM! Thank you! And now you've put a naughty thought in my head, Jes. Banana with pb....and hot fudge sauce. Add some chocolate ice cream, and that's the perfect mid-morning pick-me-up, don't you think???

Laurie Mac, thank you! Oranges are going on my shopping list today.

Carole, yup I really enjoy watermelon too, but as you said, it's such a seasonal fruit. I'm sure I'll indulge like crazy this summer.

Josie, I love mangos, too (don't think I've ever had Guavas?), but I don't know how to buy them. I've attempted to purchase them in the past, but found they tasted really weird. I wonder if we just live in the wrong climate for fresh mango.

Wendymin, so how did you like CK? It had to grow on me a bit, but I like it now. I love the drills at the end. It's pretty much just an extended version of CTX Kickbox, don't you think?

Marla G, great work on those terminators!!!!!!!!! You go girl!!!

Mari, hello! Welcome back to the daily check in!

Dutchie, feel better soon!

You know what's been driving me crazy for 4 weeks now? The smell of bread. Dear god, make it stop!! This isn't the fresh-baked kind of smell, but the smell of Wonder bread, 100% whole wheat. For some reason, this smell is pervasive throughout my house and my ultra-sensitive nose is smelling it constantly. And it is making me greener by the day. Do you think it's fair to ban store-bought bread from the house until the first trimester is over? Think the rest of the family has any right to complain? Bleeeechhh!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies,

I had a HORRIBLE ride into work this morning! My ride takes 45 minutes barring traffic. It takes an hour to an hour and 15 with normal traffic. Well, today it took me dang near 2 hours to get into work! Every road I travel was messed up! I was sooo mad! lol I am not a fan of my job as it is, and can not wait to leave to have the baby so that made it even worse for me! x(

I only did the first part of Cardio Kicks last night-the kicks and punches-left out the drills this time. Put BS upper body and abs in there instead.

Cardio Kicks will have to grow on me...I find the choregraphy to be trickier than ctx and it requires more room which is an issue for me. I also found it more difficult to modify for pregnancy than CTX. I will do it again, doing only the drills next time and then depending on how that goes, I may shelve it until after the baby is born. I think it will be easier to do with out all of the modifications...I'll have to see...I love the ctx version though and will continue to do that.:)

I also have yet to try circuit max...I may try to sqeeze that one in this week before I start my February rotation this weekend!

Have a great work out!

~Wendy~

Happy Tuesday,

Josie....so sorry about your 'accident'. Hope you heal quickly!

Welcome Marie

Jes, so your mom thought she should have had your head examined?
Wonder, what would have made her think that??;-) Hope the new meds help:)

Sandy...I think LL is a real toughie for me, but I only have Pure Strengh legs to compare it to. I find PS Legs to be much easier!!

O.K. Ladies....no more headaches!!

This evening I'll be doing LL x(

Have a great day

I forgot to mention that I was really tired yesterday so my weights didn't match Cathe's throughout the workout. I don't have a barbell yet but I have a pair of 15s and I started out with those then pooped out with those and went to only 20lbs....LL is DEFINITELY not for wimps but I think that L&G hits so many different areas in the legs that for me it's really hard to stand up straight much less walk after doing it! Also I just think the music in L&G is so motivating that it seems to help push me harder!

Katie, I agree 100%.....what an improvement!! The workouts in CTX are of course, awesome, but the music I think just kills it for me...I want to try all step and I hope I can stand the music just long enough to complete it! Sorry to go on about the music but for me music is a BIG motivator for me....that is what makes the difference sometimes between doing what I can and really pushing myself beyond my comfort zone!

Lisa, really?? I was thinking about PS.....just have to ask...what is the music like in that series?? lol!!

GOOD LAWD!

Ok, pant, pant, pant....i have been cleaning my house since early this morning. Finally finished and it is all spotless....now off to do ME/BC combo......if i can stand up throught the whole thing!

yes Lisa , my mother's an ass!

Sandra: no i do not snore, but i sleep with my mouth open b/c i can't breathe out my nose well enough....haha very funny!

Ruth!

Ruth! I'm so sorry you were downed by a migraine -- the WORST!!!! ;-(Thank goodness you're feeling better!

I, too, am totally off the January rotation wagon because of my stupid injuries. But I'm thankful to say that I seem to have turned the corner. Last week I relapsed by trying to do too much, so this week I took five days totally off (that felt awful but I just kept telling myself I needed it, and I stayed busy cleaning out closets and such). Today I was able to do my elliptical trainer as well as CTX UB Split (always my favorite one-day total UB to come back to) and some abs.

I'm going to keep it on the down low til the beginning of the month. We're actually going to be in your neck of the woods this weekend (actually, Bergen County NJ) for my niece's bat mitzvah, which will force me to keep the ankle coddled some more.

Glad you're on the mend!!!

RE: Ruth!

Kathy S. good to see you! i posted you a 'how the heck are you' thread...somewhere last night i think......just wanted to see how you were doing....

i could only make it through ME ladies....i started to do the combo, but i wasn't in a BC mood today no jumping please!!!!! so i just did ME and I FELL ASLEEP DURING ABS! how pathetic it that? it was only for a few mins. but i was so tired! so i had to start the abs section over cause i couldn't remember the last thing i did. pitiful!

Sandy, I couldn't agree more about the music being a motivator. That's why I love IMAX2 so much, because the music gets me pumped.

Hi all- this is my first time checking in with everyone and posting on the daily check-in.

While I'm not really new to Cathe, I've been on an extended break (Sheepish grin) since I returned to work in September. Anyway, I made a great start bak the first week of January, then my whole family got hit with a stomach virus (for days and days) and then on top of that a terrible upper resp. infection that actually sent me to the ER one night. My poor kids missed daycare for two weeks straight. Anyway, finally got back on track last night- did the lower body part of MIS and tonight did the first five intervals of IMAX2. I can't help but giggle when Cathe says the workout will be getting hard when I'm already gasping for air. Oh well, I guess the more I do it the easier it will be.

Big congrats to those of you expecting- what a joyous time in your lives!

Have a great night all!

Jean

:D

Hi Jean! Glad to see you decided to join us! i'm glad you have gotten your health back! what an ordeal! Well, you gotta start somewhere right? I don't know how you can giggle...i can only curse her!!!
