2 or 3?

I was wondering is it better for maximum definition to work the upper and lower body 2 or 3 times a week?

I was thinking doing CTX upper body (2x on alternate days)and then doing leaner legs (2x on alternate days).

help please!!!
 
I wouldn't work lower body more than twice per week, especially with LL, since cardio also works the legs. But if you want to do CTX twice for the upper body and then do another workout also for the upper body, say PUB, that seems fine to me and definitely not overkill. Just remember the golden rule: if you do weights today, just do cardio tomorrow to give those muscles the rest time they need.

Experiment with your workout plan and take note of how your body responds and how you feel. I have done three, even enjoyed it but doing so definitely changes my focus to strength and while that's groovy some of the time, I like to keep the types of work balanced most of the time. More importantly, I found no great increase in strength or endurance levels so I stick to two since it's just plain easier to accomplish. Right now I am at one while until we get our summer travels out of the way and get ready to settle back into school and the routine that brings. My kids go back to school August 10th!

I am currently in the mindset that muscle definition is more related to bodyfat level rather than how often the muscle is worked....but it probably varies for different folks. If your bodyfat is already low low then that observation probably doesn't apply.
