I found that for a few of the exercises, and sometimes it depends on whether it comes at the start or the end of the workout. But for the most part, they have been just about right for me.
I only found a difference with barbell curls. Waaay too heavy. Must have eaten my Wheaties the day I did 1RM. Otherwise everything else was pretty spot on.
I did on a few. I think part of it was not truly understanding what I was supposed to be doing, or simply having bad form. Also, if I go much slower I can lift quite a bit more, but then put me into meso #1 and I die with the correct 5%!
