12-Week Challenge Check-in for New Year's Eve!!!!

Hello all. I've never posted on a check-in board so excited to start this challenge and be held accountable.

About me: I am 45, married, and work pt as a page in a library. I get quite a bit of exercise at work carrying and shelving books but feel my endurance could be better. I am 5'9 and 130lbs; with my scale showing ~ 25% bodyfat. I would love to get that bodyfat % way down and loose about 5 lbs.

I started working out in August when we moved from being stagnant in a small travel trailer into a half constructed house. I get-up at 4am to get breakfast/lunch for DH and want to be able to stay up more often when he leaves to do my workouts then work on more crafts/home projects.

I am waiting for BFL book at the library so I can reread and follow more closely. I need to drink more water; concentrate on protein, veggies, and fruit; and mostly STOP with the junk from Xmas. Holy Cow. There were several plates a day of cookies, fudge, and candy at work tempting me.

DH is tall, thin, and has a very physical job so I am constantly trying to get good food into him to gain. His idea of good gaining food is desserts. Having hard time resisting these; try to just take tiny bit.

For workouts, I am thinking of following a weekly rotation of 3 days a week of Pyramids, 4Day weights, S&H, and GS. Then the other 3 workout days are a rotation of AWT, step, and cardio. Rest or lite yoga on day 7.

Today did PLB and a 10 Abs Diet ab workout. Also, on weight days I try to do 3 sets of toe push-ups on the 3rd step of staircase and a couple attempts at reverse pull-ups on bar. Some day I will do a pull-up and a chin-up.

Well, will write again tomorrow.

Hi gals (I think we're all gals, or did I miss Jerry's post?), boy I have to say this is a good group of positive people who are very focused and up for a challenge. A great spot to be in, and I am thankful to be here. My goals (trying to keep the focus on just diet & fitness, I tend to get too big!) are to lose the extra 10 lbs I have on right now, exercise at least 6 days a week, and track all my eating. It's a given that I'll make healthy choices and stay within my calorie count or obviously the 10 lbs will not come off!

Today was a reasonable plus, given that we just got back from friends for dinner. I stayed under 1800 calories and I got in a workout, even though I had to do it at 3:00 Pm today to make it happen. Now I'm off to work - I'm a night shift nurse. We're all wearing p.j.'s instead of scrubs tonight! It'll be fun. Of course, I'm sure the break room will be full of treats but I think of the CHALLENGE and not eat them!

Hi everyone and Happy New Years Eve!!!

I posted earlier, but I just wanted to post my eats and workout so that I can feel like this day is DONE!!!;-)

I just got home from bowling with DD and DH and can proudly announce that I did not have any Junior Mints nor Swedish Fish that they were snacking on. All I kept thinking about was my last meal of the day...oatmeal. Yes, I was thinking about oatmeal while I was bowling!! One more thing I can proudly announce: Day 1 w/no coffee!!! Huge accomplishment for me.

So here is what I ate today:

#1: protein pancakes (4)
#2: 1 cup of homemade veggie chili
#3: whole wheat tortilla w/grilled chicken breast, lettuce, chopped cukes, tomatoes & scallions
#4: apple & string cheese
#5: healthy version of the taco's I made DH and DD for dinner: whole wheat tortilla filled with lettuce, red pepper, tomatoes & 2T 93% lean ground beef. This was surprisingly filling & satisfying!
#6: 1/2 c oatmeal, 1/2 cup 1% milk & dash of cinnamon.

Workout: PUB. 20lbs on the last set of chest flyes & presses (heaviest ever!). I'm going to pay for that tomorrow, I can already tell.

What a great feeling to finish out day one.

Talk to you all tomorrow!

I got in my workout yesterday. I did step jump and pump step and weights. First time doing this premix and it was a great way to get this challenge started.

I am trying to lose those last 10 pounds! I am almost there to my goal of 115. I also am wanting to eat healthier which is very important to me.

I am with you on believing God to help me with this. There are to many health problems in my family and it is a road/path I don't want to follow.
