Well, I misspelled the title yesterday......

Karen - I hate it when I feel stuffed - I am trying very hard to think of myself as in training but it doesn't work....there are too many social activities surrounded by great food .....*sigh*

Wendy - Enjoy your vacation - I would love one right now. I signed up for 12 weeks with Ms. Sessions -- I am in my 6th and may sign up for more if I see progress and am not where I want to be. Oh my, you are quite ahead of the running class aren't you?

Sunny - thank you, I am glad to feeling better! Enjoy your day today!

Heather - I am sure you are winding down from the emotional stress you had before your trip. I did not think of that before but I bet that is what it is - I hope you do some fun stuff this week - instead of comfort food, "comfort workouts!" Oh,,,,,relaxation tapes would be good -- do you have any Yoga?

Jean - Thank you and I have trouble sleeping too, I wake up every morning between 1 and 2 and cannot go back to sleep. It is extremely frustrating. I am going to try reading when I wake up - have you thought about that? It usually puts me out!

Heidi - I am sure you enjoyed the pie! I think all of us were pretty much MIA this weekend - glad you are back!

Gloria - Read my email.....I think I can do the Look Great in 8 with you if I do Ms. Sessions cardio -- it is my favorite rotation ever!!!

OK, Plan for the Week
S - Rest - Done
M - Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance Premix 55 minutes, 289 calories burned, Ave HR 60%/max 87%
T - Cardio Coach 3 on rebounder, 45 minutes, 320 calories burned av HR 73%/93% max
W - Slim and Lean, Fat Blaster
T - Cardio Coach 4 on Rebounder

Food From Yesterday
M1 - oatmeal, egg whites, almonds
M2 - chicken breast, whole wheat sugar free bread
M3 - sirloin, baked new potato

I am so not ready to go to work today......*sigh* if I could wear my PJs it would be OK!!!!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Kathy and other Challengers!:)

I was in rotten spirits last night but have since cheered up, thank goodness! I NEED to be in a decent mood today as it's CRUNCH time for packing for my vacation and that is VEEERY stressful for me. I am not a good packer AT ALL!

I was trying to decide between a SPIN class or a 4 mile TM run this morning and have decided on SPIN with a little help from a couple of forum memebers! LOL So at 9:15 I'll be a huffin' and a puffin' on a bike ride to no where!:7 :7 :7

Kathy, Yeah, I am a bit ahead of the class, LOL but I don't mind. In the end I will have progressed to a point farther than I am right now and will hopefully learn some things along the way. :) My motive for this class is to be able to complete a 5k race and that is exactly what they train you for. The race is Saturday September 2nd and I am sooo excited already! LOL

The park where both the classes and the race are held is GORGEOUS! It's such nice scenery to run through. I think it will be much more enjoyable to run this as my first 5k than just on streets through a town...although, they were saying that this race has hills so it's tougher than a flat street 5k. On the other hand though, you are running on a dirt/gravel trail as opposed to asphault so it's a SOFTER surface...it has it's pros and cons I guess and to me, the pros outweigh the cons!:+

Good Morning Girls. Today is a 4 mile steady state run for me followed by 30 min of yoga. Then I'm off to the park with my younger dd becaue her sisters are taking an art class there once a week this summer. They can't wait.

Wendy- Sounds like the 5k class went well. If you have time, can you share what they said about clothing and shoes. I'm so happy to hear your ahead of the curve. I knew you would be. Sometimes you have to see with your own eyes how good a shape we are compared to what we think we are.

Kathy- It sounds like the sessions are working. Your bf has really dropped. That is so good. Your doing great.

Karen,

Have a good 4 miler! That's what I'd be doing if I hadn't decided to SPIN instead.
As far as clothes go, they talked alot about something called "technical" material that is a great material to have your running clothes made from. They suggested steering clear of cotton. They talked about why a sports bra is preferable to a regular bra. They gave us a hand out in regards to buying running shoes which I haven't read yet....I'm not ready to purchase pricey shoes. My $25.00 bargain pair are serving me fine as far as I can tell right now!:)
Being ahead of the curve in class is great but it makes for a bit of a boring time. LOL Oh well...I'd better not wish the easy classes away cause once they catch up to and then surpass where I'm "at", I could be cryin'!:p LOL

12-Week Check-in

Good morning! It is time for my cycle to start, and I feel bloated and miserable. I indulged my chocolate craving yesterday. The good news is that I slept better again last night. I still feel lethargic and drugged. Hopefully, my body will return to normal in a few days. Visiting a different part of the country apparently stirred up allergies because I have congestion in my head, watery eyes, and a tickle in my throat.

I bounced on my rebounder yesterday. I am not sure what I will do today.

Kathy, I agree with you that my body is winding down after all the emotional stress and anxiety. Binge eating has been conquered, but comfort eating is another story. I still eat certain comfort foods like chocolate during PMS time. I love sweet tea too. Mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese are other favorite comfort foods. My eating is clean most of the time but far from perfect. The weekends are still a real challenge for me.

Wendy, have a blast! You will be missed!

Blessings,
Heather B.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Wendy- Good info. I don't have the fancy shoes either. I would like a pair though but I can't see me spending that kind of dough. I'll take my 50.oo addidas shoes, and my 25.00 avia's for now. I alternate the two every other week or so. As far as vacation I think I maybe able to fit in the suitcase if I bend in half. Maybe I should do Mr. YM and then see if I can fit.

Heather B- Glad you got some sleep. A little chocolate never hurt anynoe.

Hi all. I only have minute. I'll check back at lunch. Last night was an hour at the gym. This morning I feel like my cold is coming back. Plan tonight is carido of some sort and then tomorrow is my second personal trainer day. Wonder what he'll have in store for me.

Jean

Jean- What does your PT do for you that you don't do already. I always wanted to go to one to see if what I'm doing is the right thing. I just can't spare the expense. Do you think your PT gives you more of a push than you give yourslef. Man now I want a PT plus a crusie. Karen

Hello Karen, Heather, Jean, Gloria, Kathy, Heidi, Sunny and anyone else I may have missed!!!

I don't have time for personals...have to finish up the packing and such but just wanted to say hello just incase I don't get back here until I get back!

Have a great week challengers!!!!:+ :+ :+

Hello my motivators!! We're a busy bunch aren't we! I did S&H triceps today. I think I might split up S&H and do one body part per day, instead of a whole S&H and then the next day cardio. I'll fit cardio in here and there. That way my workouts will be short and doable. I went really heavy and then had a hard time at the end but pushed through. LUV S&H.

Cruises and personal trainers...got it...off to update my wish list! ;-)

Heidi

Karen,
Well I'm not sure if what this trainer does is what normal trainers do. I got 2 free sessions as a fitness club trial offer. So he really didn't push, just educated me on the moves. For the lower body workout, he had me do stretching floor work moves. Kind of what's in Stretch Max, but he had me do them in reps/sets so it worked the muscle not just stretched it. Then he had me do standing leg work without any weights. Squats, Walking Knee raises, Walking touch toe to hand thingies, Side squats with the balance ball, Step up knee raises and then some ab work. The whole workout involved a lot of balance and core work. I think he was just trying to see what my fitness level was. Since I'm not a member yet, I don't think they want to be too pushy and scare away a potential client. I think a paid trainer is probably different. For example, when I was at the club the other night and just working out on my own, there was a lady there who was working out with a different trainer. He stopped to talk with me aobut the club, but kept watching her and saying "What are you stopping for? You're not done." (nicely, just giving her a hard time) So I do feel that if someone hires a personal trainer, they probably do push you to complete the sets and advance your fitness level. I will let you know what I do tomorrow for session 2.

Jean

Hey, I have a minute and I forgot to tell y'all! I've got a race this week this week! I'm racing my family aka cruise-mates around the ship's track!;) LOL

Wendy, don't race around the cruise track if it's windy. We tried to lwalk it one night and thought we would get blow over board. LOL.

Karen, I'm with you on the plateau. That's why when I saw this add, I jumped at the chance. I think I was kind of hoping that in 2 sessions, they would tell me show me some miracle workout that would start me on the down hill slide I've been looking for. I have been fighting with the same 3-4 lbs and would just like to get back to where I was 2 summers ago which is 15 lbs lighter. My dh always says, that I didn't gain the weight overnight and I'm not going to lose it overnight, but it sure is easier to gain than it is to lose it.

Jean

Jean- I agree. I watched every weight loss show in America. Read everything there is to read but I can't get the scale to move in the right direction anymore. It just stalls back and forth. Maybe the PT's don't give away there secerts until you give them money. LOL Karen

Jean: If it's windy I'll just run WITH the wind!;)
