12 Week Challenge 05/24

Morning ladies -- hope you don't mind my starting the threads -- with Ms Laura out I think I am the first one up....hope someone hears from her today!

Karen - Thank you and hope you get through the week - I hate TOM - at my age it should be gone already...

Heidi - MIC is wonderful but I have to be in the mood! I see you enjoyed it!!! OK, now that you have done MIC you definately need to do Bootcamp!

Gayle - Glad you are back and feeling better -- what fun with your boys -- I raised girls but I am crazy about my little GS!!! I had a tomboy/beauty queen mix - thank goodness for extra bathrooms!

Wendy - your workout looks good too! I love the TJs - the cardio ones, not the toning. I have seen where some have said they are too easy but the music and everything makes me "get down" I get a great intense workout from them - my HR goes just as high as with Cathe but it is a different feel - they are quite fun IMO!

SunnyD - I am a bit envious! I would love to take a TurboKick class!!! I like CP1 also but my favorite right now is the TJ Fat Blaster - It is intervals and I can make it go throught the roof! It is only 30 mintues but fits my HIIT and I can always repeat intervals - enjoy your time at the gym!

Gloria - Way to go, Bootcamp is easy for me sometimes too, I have done it a LOT though - I need to put it away....but I cannot -- have a great day!

Hi Kali - Welcome!!! Come be accountable with us!!! Nice to meet you!

Oh, goodness running late today and as usual have no idea what to wear to work...I need to own a dress shop so I can just put together whatever is my mood...DH would say that I already have one....

Good Morning all!

Kathy, you are doing outstanding! I'm so excited for you! Thanks for the TJ review. Maybe I'll order one of the cardios at some point. }(

Well, I had a run planned for today but I have a VERY stiff/sore neck, shoulder and back on my left side. I have no idea what I did but it hurts to yawn! I guess my work out for today is nixxed unless I make a miraculous recovery by 10am! LOL I took 2 motrin when I got up. I am hoping that will take the edge off so that I can get some housework done and pick up my son with out grimacing!!!;(

Have a great day everyone!:)

BTW...I am changing around my rotation! LOL I couldn't resist!:p

Kathy- Those stats say it all. You have put in the work and it is paying off. Good for you. I'm happy you are getting things moving in the right direction. Way to go!!!

Wendy- Maybe you just slept wrong. Try and get in some stretch or yoga and see if it loosens up during th day. I hope it works. Aslo if you can get in the shower let the shower head hit that spot to loosen it some. ( I know Yeah!!! Baby, shower) There hard to come by.

Today on tap for me is Gym style shoulders, back, and biceps and maybe a 3 mile easy run.

Hello to all who follow.

Hey Karen. Thanks.

This started yesterday so possibly I slept wrong the other night??? I don't know though as it wasn't something I noticed when I woke up yesterday morning.
I really have not a clue what I did BUT I did PH yesterday despite being uncomfortable (it wasn't nearly as bad though) and a weight work out is probably the LAST thing I should have done! I probably made it worse! :(
The good news though, is that I took Motrin when I got up about an hour ago and definately feel better already! :) I am starting to consider going to the gym and giving my run a shot. Am I crazy??? I did the shower thing yesterday and am trying to stretch it in different ways every once in a while.

Your work out sounds good! Enjoy Karen!:)

Hey Girls...heard someone was looking for me:+

Im doing o.k..somedays are worse then others. My exercising hasn't been the best lately either, so maybe thats why I disappeared! LOL I will try to get something in today.
How is everyone else doing? Any buff hot ones yet? If this keeps up, I will be posting pics of my belly soon!

Lori:)

good morning challengers:)
today's workout: did a cardio mish-mosh of walking, running, biking, ET!! woohoo for me!

Wendy: hope you feel better! what is the shower thing???

Kathy: great stats girl! doing the happy dance for ya!

Heidi: girl, you have a tough weekend w/ those ladies and eating! I would definetely bring as much clean eating food as possible and just eat lots of salads. good luck!!!

Karen: you have a GREAT workout plan ahead. do you have a specific rotation you are following??

Hello to everyone else to follow!

take care:)
Gloria

LORI!!!!!!!!!!!:+

Gloria...The shower thing is simply letting the hot water "massage" my stiff side. Nothing "dirty"!:p LOL

Good morning, ladies! LOTS of excitement going on!!!!!!! Glad to hear everybody's doing well and moving around!

Last night I got in a second work, cardio. Did a 3 mile run plus w/u and c/d. This morning was PUB down pyramid, GS Biceps, and Stretch Max #1. I felt SOOOOOO good after that stretch. I guess I need to add that in more often!

12-Week Check-in

Good morning! I am really tired this week for some reason. My cycle started Monday and is unusually heavy this month. That might be a contributing factor. I started previewing a workout after work yesterday and fell asleep! I had a 3-hour unplanned nap!

After my unplanned nap, I did Timesaver 2 for the first time last night. It appears that I will be doing evening workouts this week. This one starts with the third combination from Step Blast followed by the first 2 sections of high impact floor aerobics from Step, Jump, & Pump and some good back and core work. I did it! I did it! I finally learned the third combination of Step Blast! It is so much fun. I definitely want the Body Blast Series on DVD. I am not sure I ever would have mastered this one with the VHS version. I really like having the option of the “normal mix” so I can focus on Cathe’s cuing. The music on the VHS version I have is louder than the “music louder” option on the DVD. I always had a hard time focusing on Cathe’s cuing. I am so glad I tried this DVD. I thought I did not like Step Blast and would never get it. I love it now! Timesaver 2 is much more intense than the first one, so I did not feel the need to do anything extra. I am so excited that I can finally do Step Blast. Now I understand why it is so popular. My first experience was extremely frustrating, and my subsequent attempts were not much better. This is the most complex choreography I have learned, and I feel so accomplished now. This Timesaver DVD is a gem in my opinion. It is not as intense as the CTX Series, but I love it!

Blessings,
Heather B.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

Gayle,

I am very guilty of almost NEVER adding in an extra LONG stretch. I would probably feel much better if I would just do it even one time per week but I just don't have the patience.:-(

Kathy, what superb results!!! You must be pleased and motivated!!

Wendy, bummer on the stiff neck, shoulder, and back!! I myself have a "cranky" right ankle from doing MIC yesterday, so I'm going to have to probably baby it for a few days. I'm supposed to do Cardio Kicks tomorrow but I think I might just opt to do the stationary bike---------oh and you and I are so cut from the same cloth as me as far as having the total inability NOT to fiddle with a rotation!! LOL! ;)

Lori, yes we were wondering about you!!!!! Just march in place for 5 seconds and then check in with that workout! Well atleast check in with us once every couple of days, it's not the same here without you.

Gloria, last night I went out to GNC and got a couple of goodies for eating while everyone else is chowing down on a month's worth of sugar. I'm sure I'll have the odd treat, but I'm starting the Gym Styles next week and want to be in top form!

Have a great day everyone, it's an MIS day for me. :7

Heidi

Good morning Karen, Gayle, and Heather! Just wanted to wave to ya!

Oh and Heather you probably need all that sleep to recharge your batteries, plus yes good ol' TOM will be a factor. I don't have the Timersaver DVD, but man you make me want it for those times when you need it! It does sound like a gem. And way to go for doing Step Blast, I have that DVD coming and I'm excited to finally have it.

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Good Morning Ladies!

Wendy! "YOU" changed your rotation around???? NO!!!!! ROTFLMAO!!! I see nothing has changed since I've been gone. (just teasing you Girlfriend!) Hope you feel better. Tell DH to give you a nice massage!

Awesome job on the weight loss Kathy! You're hard work and determination is paying off Woman! I guess I'll have to weigh myself although I DO NOT want to. I'll just have to bite the bullet and weigh and measure tomorrow morning.

Have a great run and workout Karen!

WOO HOO is right Gloria! Great job!

Doesn't it feel great when you get a second workout in Gayle?

Hi Heather. I can totally relate to the being tired TTOM. I am totally exhausted right before mine starts. I can usually tell because I am NEVER THAT tired at any other time. I was thinking of getting the Timesaver next time I buy a new workout.

Hi Lori! Hope you're feeling better!

Hi Heidi! Have fun with MIS!

I am doing May 03' Variety Training rotation. I am on day 3 and it's Circuit Max and 8 min. of Ab Hits. So I'm dropping the boys off for school and getting to it. Then I'm meeting DH and a few people he works with for lunch. Later we're going to buy our patio pavers for the backyard. We need like 60-70 of them. That will be one hec of a workout in itself! Those things are heavy!!

Have a great morning everyone!

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Ok, I'm done working out. I did my gymstyle back shoulders and biceps, the abs from body max and then a 2 mile run not a three mile one. So that is my easy run.I was happy the girls let me squeeze it in.

Wendy- We don't think your a nut for wanted to get the run it. Did you see my last post to you on the Runner's checkin aobut haw we do the runs with the kids. I can see this in your future.

Heather- Step Blast was one of the hardest ones for me to learn. The third protion of RS was hard for me too, come to think of it.

Lori- Can't wait to see the belly pic's

Gloria- I follow a homemade rotation that I try and stick to as best I can. I usually figure it for two to three weeks at a time. It has all my running needs with different series ( Pymarids, gymstyle and so on) Plus it has my yoga on mostly running days.

Gayle- Great upper body workout

Kali- I know it is a necessary evil to weight and measure but it is also very rewarding when you get back to basics and see how everthing is coming together.

Heidi- Have fun with Mis. I love those abs

RE: 12-Week Check-in

I'm done too. CM is a FUN workout. Glad it's overwith tho!

Karen you're pics are amazing! Believe me I know all about the rewards of seeing results. I just get down when I backslide sometimes. I will weigh and measure in the morning.

Have a good day all!

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Kali- Don't worry about it. We all go on our down times where we think how on earth did we fall back so far. When i started this challege, I had let my eating go from Christmas to Easter and the scale and bf were eye opening to me. I was so ticked that I had worked so hard and let in slowly slip away form me. Not the exercise but defienly the food. When i took my pic at the beginning of this I was on a downward spiral and when I saw my photos, I though this challenge came at the right time. Gald your back.

RE: 12-Week Check-in

I'm back from the gym and feelin' FINE!:+

I ran 3.5 miles today!:)
I wore my HRM today for the first time in a while...in 38 mins: avg hr: 146, pk hr: 166, calories burned: 443. (This does not include warm up or cool down.)

My neck/back/shoulder only bother me a TINY bit when I move a certain way. NOTHING like it was this morning and it did not interfere with my work out AT ALL!:)

Kali: HA HA, very funny!:p

Karen: I love that idea of running while DH rides the bike with DS! I would love to do that one day but maybe I should wait until I can keep a decent pace where DH won't be taking off for miles ahead of me cause I'm too slow!:p

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Good Afternoon ladies,

Kathy- You are on a roll! you are doing tremendous. keep up the great work:)

Wendy- you are a trooper- great run esp. with a stiff neck. NOW, you leave that rotation alone:) . actually i always do the exact same thing. i feel so accomplished when i put one together and then wind up switching it all around:p

Karen- I did that workout on monday and had DOMS in my biceps yesterday. i love the gymstyle series.

Lori-Yay!! you are back. we are so happy to hear from you.

Gayle- sounds like you had an awesome workout. any more marathons scheduled?

Heather- I agree timesaver DVD is definitely a gem, esp. when you are time crunched.

kali- HI, welcome back!!

Hello to anyone else i have missed and all to follow.

Yesterday i went to the gym and did a turbo kick class, i went in with my nose in the air:) thinking she ain't cathe...well, i left with a good butt kickin'. the instructor was so good. it was a different style of kickboxing. I woke up this morning feeling like i did an upperbody workout yesterday:) . Highlight of my day: the instructor saw me after class and told me i did a tremendous job!! she couldn't believe it was my first time. I know my entire face lit up. THANK YOU CATHE!!!

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Sunny: Great job! The thing about the instructor in your class is just WILD! Good for you girl! I know I'd be on cloud nine if that happened to me!:) As for my rotation...it's ALLLL goofed up! LOL I'm gonna work on gettin' it back in order later today. :p

RE: 12-Week Check-in

Hi Guys!

Wendy, glad you had a good run! Do you think your neck is stiff from sleeping on it wrong? Hope its back to normal soon!

Thanks Karen. I feel better knowing I'm not alone in this (which is how I felt when I got away from here) DUH. I did the same thing with the eating! I workout consistently, but my eating habits just went to crap! I'm back on track tho. Back to watching my sugar and starch, drinking lots of water, and not eating late at night which is what works for me. I'm so glad to be back.

Well HI to you SunnyD!!! I'll bet you were just tickled pink getting that compliment from the instructor!!! You go with your bad self!

Met DH for lunch and had Chinese. Not my 1st choice of food so I didn't have too much. Just one trip to the buffet! Anything else today will be superclean. Plus I'll be lifting those patio pavers in a few hours so I'll be getting another workout in!

Have a nice afternoon Ladies!

Kali
