11/5 - Cathe-ites Daily Challenge

Cathlete
OK, I figure on Monday we should ALL be extra rested since we gain an hour of sleep (right), so here is a challenge !

//--------------------------------------------------------

1. Choose an exercise challenge for Monday and do it.
2. Drink your water requirements for the day

WHATEVER it is, post your challenge in advance, then post your
results on Tuesday morning !

//--------------------------------------------------------

For example, for me, I will walk/run a mile on my treadmill in as short as time as possible (that is the challenge for me!!), in addition to whatever else I do for the day. For others it might be
300 situps, or 200 walking lunges.

I am trying to make this challenge generic so everyone can join rather than make it too specific, but if you need ideas, I am sure you can get lots from the ladies on this board !!!

GOOD LUCK, and don't forget to post in advance what your exercise challenge will be !!!

I'm up for it! I'm just trying to think of something to challenge myself with! I have Step Blast on tap for tomorrow, so maybe I'll try your idea of running a mile as fast as I can on the TM in addition to my workout.

I like it!! I think I will do #1 and #2!!

Tomorrow is HIS / Chest & Back for me, so I think I will challenge myself to 100 push ups tomorrow! I will also drink my 64 ozs of water!

OK, I'm in. I was planning on 4DS HIS, Chest and Back. I'll add a segment of abs from CoreMax. Hmmmm, maybe I'll add on 8 pikes on the ball too.

Ok, I'm in too. Sorry I didn't post a recipe for the weekend's challenge. I'm not much of a cook.....:(

Today is my first day of the Nov. rotation (I've never done a rotation before so I'm kinda nervous....)

I will be sure to add on the B&G ab work and maybe 100 pushups!! I will also be sure to drink all my water.

Allison

Well, I worked out before I saw this challenge... but I did Higher Intensity Step this morning, and that was an exercise challenge for me. :)

Water = no problem. I drink 72 oz+ every day anyway. :)

Okay, I totally take my workout challenge for the day back. Screw the hundred pushups. I'd rather eat dog poo than do that.

I just realized that I have been trying to get myself to do more stretching for months now and I haven't. I ordered two yoga workouts that I got last week but have yet to even take out of the plastic. My whole body aches 24/7 and I really need to start stretching more. So my challenge for today is to get in 30 minutes of yoga!! I've never done a yoga dvd before (done 2 or 3 classes at a gym) so we'll see how this goes.

I have a weird mind-set that says stretching and yoga are a waste of time--why do that when I could be burning mega calories doing an intense workout? But, if I don't stop thinking like that I'm going to turn into a shriveled, aching, ball of too-tight muscles.

Allison

Allison, I totally understand how you feel! Unless I am killing myself during a workout I feel its a waste of time. Yoga has always been a challenge for me-I just do not get it I suppose, and I used to help teach a Tai Chi class, so its not the spiritual part that I do not get, I just get bored to tears. Same with Pilates, which is why the Squeeze workout is good for me. She works you but then has those stretch segments that really leave me feeling great!:)

I'm in! I did a LIS/LIC step challenge this morning and tacked on B&G abs. My challenge is to add S&H Legs this afternoon AND to drink my 64 oz. of water.

wow ! there are some pretty good challenges !

And I think a YOGA challenge is AWESOME !! I think I will do that the next time we have a challenge as I have been meaning to do yoga for a while now. Can't wait to hear how everyone does tomorrow !

I'm with Allison and tneah in never feeling like yoga or pilates is doing any good. And boring? Beyond tears. I'm not sure what I'll do we have a yoga challenge. I have no yoga workouts. Maybe borrow one from the library? Thanks goodness Allison isn't doing 100 pushups. And yay for Emily doing HIS!

I'm in. I'm working on the water and about to start my workout. I think any exercise at all is a challenge today because I still feel crappy. So I'm challenging myself to do an hour of step aerobics (using Amy Bento's new ASC2).

I have a few yoga workouts but seldom do them, even when I put them on my rotation. I am more likely to do them if they are only 20 minutes long or something. I just ordered a new one, so I'm still trying to find one I like. I also just found this place near my youngest son's nursery school where I could do a yoga class while he's in school. Not sure if I want to spend that money, though.

All done. I started with 8 pikes on the ball, did HIS chest and back, then went to CoreMax segment 1. Drank about 80 oz of water today. See you tomorrow.

OK, well I (almost?) did it...I wanted to walk/run 1 mile on the treadmill...and it seems somewhere along the way I messed up the controls...anyway, I don't know exactly the distance that I did, but I was on the treadmill for about 12 minutes...HEY, better than nothing ! I just can't believe I even got on it considering 1) I HATE RUNNING 2) I was on a business trip today and was tired !!

At least tomorrow's challenge is 'easier', I guess.

Congrats to everyone who did their challenge ! GREAT WORK !

Well, I drank about 100 oz of water today, did HIS/Chest&Back and tried to do 20 minutes of a new yoga workout and bailed. HOW BORING. I tried, though. I made it through maybe 12 minutes....

I have never done a rotation before and at least I managed to do the first day of this one!! :) I actually feel good about that, as silly as it sounds. I always psych myself out of doing what's on a rotation and end up doing my own thing but I stuck with this one. I have specifically not done the new 4DS w/o's more than once in anticipation of the Nov. rotation--I want them to be fresh and fun. So I better stick to this rotation since I made myself hold off on doing them the past couple weeks!!

I finished SB and did my one mile fast-as-I-could run on the TM - 9:19 for a mile, which is a bit disappointing. I'm so slow.

I didn't do well on my water yesterday. I'll try harder today.
