10" to 17" stool ?

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what everyone uses as a 10-17 inch stool, for Leaner Legs, etc ? Is it worth just investing in extra risers for THE STEP ? I presume that if you are a beginner, do you start off with a 10 inch stool, and then gradually work your way up as you become stronger ?

many thanks

Anna

I have the Reebok step which has 6, 8, and 10 inch platforms. I'm 5'2" and use the 10 inch setting for Leaner Legs. In reality I guess I could go for 12 inches, but it's not worth purchasing a new step for that.

Get extra risers. It is WAY worth it. You will want them anyway for the PS series and other stuff.

I am a big proponent in just buying the big stuff right off cuz you will most likely want it eventually..AFTER you went out and purchased a little step, and then of course you will have wasted money!! OR get the Rubbermaid Step Stool they sell in Target. I am also big on that. It is only $13.00. Extra risers are also a good deal at $5.00 each.

I have enough risers to bring my step up to 18" now. If you look carefully at the steps Catne and the crew use for sit-and-stand squats, I think they are set at either 16"or 18". The 18"height is also wonderful as a support for 1-arm rows: I put my hand and knees up on it, and I feel that it gives me some extra support that I didn't have before. I can now feel those rows much more than I did before.

For step ups, I think 12" is fine with me for now, though I have gone to 14", it's not without more stress on the knees.

I am 5'8". I use the end of a traditional bench with the supports on one end for doing bench press. It is 17" high. I use this bench for step-ups, for sit and stands, and to support myself when doing lat rows and one armed triceps kickbacks. I also use it to dip off of in the S/H Triceps tape. It works great, otherwise it is where the cat sits to look out the sliding glass door, I don't use it as a bench anymore, I use the Step for things like chest work.

Thanks everyone for the advice, i think I will be investing in extra step risers. As I am from the UK, I will possibly have to order them from Collage.

RE: Hi Anna!

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for that, I was about to throw the computer through the window ! DH would of been pleased (not). What a plank, I am ! I have been internet friendly for 3 years now, and I still can't get to grips with the controls of the PC. Oh dear, I shall blame it on TTOTM !

Did you have a nice holiday in Florida, Debbie ? It is lovely to have you back !

Many Thanks

Anna

Hey Anna!

Thank you for the welcome back! Yes, we had a very nice time visiting both of my sisters in Florida. We took our daughter, her hubby and our granddaugter with us. We took them to Disney and Epcott one day and to Downtown Disney (formerly Disney Village) another. It was great to watch Kennedy taking it all in. We were able to get her pix taken with about 14 different characters!! The pictures turned out so cute. We even got one of her with Mickey & Minnie together and then after that one, Goofy ran over and joined in. Very nice day! Sorry, more info then you asked for! Again, thanks for the warm welcome back!
