10 pound meltdown Tues Nov 13

Maybe meltdown isn't the right word. Maybe carve-off would work better. I'm really struggling. Thanks for the hugs last night. They help. Shelley, maybe we can take turns holding each other tightly on the wagon.

I'm not sure if I'll get a workout done today. The Nov rotation calls for a rest day, but after last night's binge, I really feel the need to burn some calories. Maybe an IMAX. I haven't done one of them in a while.

Here's hoping we all behave with wisdom and restraint today.

Wisdom and restraint, huh? Gosh, I'm not sure those words have EVER been used in conjunction with me before, but there's a first time for everything, right?

Robin - I'm holding on tight:)

I need to get my butt in gear if I'm weighing in on Friday, otherwise I'll be spiraling down into depression when I see the scale. I hope I can reverse the damage I did on the weekend (and okay, yesterday wasn't exactly pretty either).

Boy, Christmas really isn't that far away is it?

Greetings Shelly & Robin- OK we are here to help one another. We can do one day of no junk food today right? and our water. One day at a time. Robin enjoy Imax and let those endorphins fly!

Good Day to everyone else who pops in :)

Good Morning fellow "Melters"!

Today I did 4DS, Chest & Back, the weight first pre-mix and I skipped the cardio. I have no patience when it comes to learning the complicated step combos Cathe does. x(

Good News! My dog's blood work came back negative for Cushings or Addision! He just had a normal kidney/bladder infection. ( breathes sigh of relief!):) It must have been all the "well wishers" from here that helped!

Tneah:
Sometimes your body needs fat and it tells you by a craving! as long as you eat nuts or something healthy you should be ok

Shelley:
How crowded was the Outlet Mall? I heard that you can't even get a parking space and they are coming in with buses!

B:
I use the I-Treads for walking/jogging intervals. I always warm up for about 2 minutes at a speed I am comfortable with, regardless of what Grace says! Then I catch up to the rest of them.

Lainie:
Thanks for the well wishes for my dog.. sorry to hear you had to go through that with yours.

Maeghan:
High ^^^^'s on the weight loss!:7

Judy:
I think that run balanced it all out and you are even now! LOL:7

TK:
Give me more things to do with cottage cheese! I do applesauce or grapes, but need other ideas. I bring it to work as a mid morning snack.

Michele:
Thank you for the well wishes! He is ok! I too sub other cardio for the 4DS.. too comlex and fast for me! I do the kickbox one, but that is all.

Robin:
"Start of a new day.. don't look back!" That is what I tell myself when I am upset about what I ate, or didn;t do etc.

Have a great day

Deb;-)

You are so right, Deb. I'm glad to hear your pooch has a simple infection and hope the right antibiotic clears everything up.

Judy, you are a wise woman.

Shelley, now you just hollar if I'm squeezing too tight.

Mornin' everyone.

I guess I kind of slipped off the wagon this weekend too. I took my best friend out for her 40th birthday, and of course that sort of celebration means food. It was mighty tasty, but honestly, I can't afford any more junk food, period, until Thanksgiving.

So I'm joining everyone in the group hug that'll keep us hanging on tight to the bandwagon. We all know when we're doing something "bad," don't we? Isn't it amazing how we can just let that willpower slide?

The good news is that my PT gave me the full go-ahead to use my elliptical! Thank heavens - now I can burn some calories! Still no weights though. But hey, anything is better than the nothing I had to endure last week.

Hang in there, everyone. It's always easier during the week when we're all on the computer, giving each other support.

ETA: Oops - I forgot to add that this weekend I got my baseline weight and measurements, so I'll be able to check in and see whether I'm holding steady!

Hello everyone! I'm tired today--always stay up too late when DH is out of town (which he was last night).

Yesterday I managed to drag myself through RS, but I felt like my body was a lead weight. I didn't do the challenge but skipped to the cooldown after combo 3. I also had some twinges from my stubborn sore ankle, which was disappointing since it felt o.k. when I went jogging Saturday. I'm glad I see a PT about that tomorrow.

Today I'm supposed to do Amy Bento's Hi-Lo Dome Challenge, but I might take a rest day if I still feel like I did yesterday. I hope I have more energy!

I'm going to have to think about 'wisdom and restraint'. Sounds tough. How about just 'not being a total idiot and occasional restraint'? Is that good enough. :p

Hello. My name is Teresa, and I need to lose 10 pounds...well, maybe a few more than that, but I'll start with 10.

I did really well food and exercise-wise yesterday. Watched my veggie vindaloo and rice portion last night, and had less than half a piece of naan. Did my 45 minutes of cardio (LIC Cardio Blast Timesaver).

Love reading your check-ins...you'll probably be seeing alot of me over the next few months.

Good morning Melters!!

I never did make that soup -- I think I'm kind of burned out on soup for awhile ;) . I didn't commit any egregious diet sins yesterday and had pasta with plain tomato sauce for dinner. I've been on a real Italian food kick lately for some reason. I guess I just like tomatoey foods :p .

I'm following the 4DS rotation and last night I subbed a 30 min walking workout for HIS along with chest and back. I love that one but I need a set of 20# DB.

I think I pulled a muscle in my low back last night. I loaded my BB with 50# for the rows which is doable for me, but I somehow twisted in a funny way when I lifted it off the floor and I felt a sudden sharp pain in the right side of my low back -- the kind of pain that takes your breath away. It's still sore this morning but I think it will be OK.

{{{{{ROBIN}}}}}, I'm sorry my hug comes late but I didn't see your final post last night until this morning. I have nothing to add to tneah's remarks, but you know I'm here ANYTIME you need to vent. Now the task at hand seems to be finding a heavy duty cord to bind you and Shelley together on the bandwagon!! :p :* :* :*

Shelley - I don't even want to think about how close we are to...to..the "C" word -- UGH! Now, get on that wagon and stay put, young lady!!

Judy - yes, we CAN manage one day without junk food and I'm off to a great start! Good luck to you, too.

Deb - I'm relieved to know your pooch dodged the Cushings bullet! I sense that you and I are kindred spirits when it comes to cardio. Oh man -- I hate it!! Today is a rest day but since the 4DS rotation really isn't designed for weight loss, I'll need to do some sort of cardio x(

Shannon - YEA!!! I'm so glad you're hopping on the bandwagon! Well, I mean I'm sorry you feel like you need to lose weight, but happy that you're checking in with us ;) . I'm so glad you can start doing some cardio again. Maybe I'll do a Cardio coach today in your honor!

Lainie - I have trouble sleeping when my DH is out of town, too. He just returned from an 8 day trip and I was exhausted by the time he got home -- lol! I don't think you should do Amy's dome workout if your ankle is bothering you. I hope you get a good report from the PT.

TeTe - welcome to the challenge!

Have a nice day, all, and BACK AWAY FROM THE JUNK!!! :*

ETA Michelle, I normally love veggies but I've been going through a phase lately where they don't appeal to me at all. Soup is an easy way to incorporate them into your diet. Also, put some lettuce and tomato on your sandwich and have some celery and carrot sticks with it, or a salad. Make it a point to include them with your dinner, too.

Welcome Teresa!

Okay ladies - can you help me with my "diet"?? Here's what I had yesterday:
B - One slice whole wheat toast with 1 T PB
S - Zone bar
L - 1/2 turkey sandwich on whole wheat and fruit cup
S - handful of walnuts and low fat string cheese

Since I'm at work -- this is pretty much what I pack EVERY day. I know the Zone bar isn't "perfect" -- but some days it is the easiest thing. What changes do you think I need to make?

I usually try and eat something healthy for dinner -- but fell "off the wagon" last night as we had a kids party and I had two slices of thin crust cheese pizza. OOPS!

I know, where are the veggies?? I don't know where to fit them in?? HELP!!

Thanks!
Michelle

Good morning, Everyone!

Well, I am happy to report that I was very good yesterday. I didn't eat anything other than what I'd planned to eat and I got a good workout in. I hope I remain as focused as I felt yesterday... And here's sending many "focused" vibes to you all!! ;-)

Thanks, Deb, for your response. I was thinking there's absolutely no way I can warm up at a speed of 6! Also, I'm so glad to hear the good news about your doggie!!

Off to catch up on the rest of yesterday's thread... Have a great day!

Hugs to All!:7 :7 Thank goodness today is a new start right? I think just taking this one hour at a time is easier than looking at the big picture! That can be so intimidating. At least for me, and ladies, stay off the bloody scale-stop weighing yourself every morning (c'mon, I know you are cause I do it too!) It is so silly really, as your weight fluctuates by a pound or two every day-or at least mine does. So one morning its a "good day" because I am down one pound, for whatever reason, the next morning I am up one pound.x( I cannot handle it man, seriously, once a week is it for me.See? I get obsessive.

Glad to hear your pup is healthy!:7 Yeah!. And welcome to Teresa, I read your post over in the OD. Hang on girl, it ain't pretty, but worth it when your eating habits start to change, and those changes are reflected in the way you feel and the way your body looks.:) Hang on tight Robin, Shelley,Judy and the rest, remember, one hour at a time. You can put off eating something "not so good" for an hour right? Then for one more hour, etc...it works for me-well most of the time!

Michelle, add some cut up veggies during your day when you eat the Zone bar. And I do alot of veggies (broccoli mostly) at dinner.

I did the horrific "Leg Blast" premix on B&G last night. What the hell?? I was seriously cursing Cathe on this one, had never attempted it before and thought since it was a shorter workout it would be "easier" or something!Uh, yeah right, my legs are still in shock and I didn't use any weight!

Todays workout is maybe some easy cycling or walking, followed by Push/Pull or one of those Cathe workouts I never do, I know, I know, I said this week was Pilates and Lotte Berk, but I wanted to get two 'solid" weight workouts (upper and lower body)in on Monday and Tuesday, then the rest of the week experiment with the others.

Okay, here's to another beautiful, productive, successful day! Cheers!

Sorry if I missed any personals, its getting hard to fit it all in, but know I am supporting you too!:+

I found out that a nearby yoga place has a class while my youngest is in nursery school. I could go on Friday mornings after I drop him off. I'm contemplating trying it out on Friday and then maybe signing up to do it regularly. I am terrible about fitting stuff like yoga into my rotation, so I thought maybe a class would help. Plus I might meet some nice people. On the other hand, I am kind of an eye-rolling type when my yoga videos get sort of spiritual and I don't want to offend local yoga types by rolling my eyes in yoga class. Hmm. Now i'm just thinking virtually aloud. Do any of you take a live yoga class?

I don't care for yoga -- it makes me giggle and yes, I often have to roll my eyes, too. And why do all the instructors have such weird names!? Rainbeau? Shiva? Are these their REAL names or yoga stage names? LOL!!

Hey Lainie,

I've taken yoga classes in the past with friends. Like you said, it's a nice way to fit it in. I hardly ever do on my own even though I do enjoy it. They didn't really go into the spiritual stuff in the classes I took... Can you just pay as you go or do you have to buy a package? If you can pay as you go then at least try one and see what you think...
