10# Challenge for 9/29

I'm starting this for today, hope there isn't one already started.

I haven't checked in but I lost another pound last week. Very happy about that.

My mom had hip replacement surgery yesterday but I was able to eat on track but didn't keep track of calories and such. She did very well and they are now getting her up and walking.

I'm starving today!

Debbie - You are doing awesome!!!! Now if I could just get my act together like you! You know what, strike that-not IF but rather I AM (the power of positive thinking right!;)) Glad to hear your Mom if doing well.

Cindi - Thanks for your kinds words yesterday, made me feel better.

I did well with my eating yesterday, and I also took the time to set a deadline for myself. I have to be on stage at my church on December 13th, so I took a calendar and numbered down the days until then and will check each one off as it goes by. That's 11 weeks and more than enough time to lose the 10# and maybe then some. Hoping it will help to keep me on track through the coming holidays.

Debbie - I just posted again on yesterday's thread. I hope you mom is doing ok. Seems like our group has gotten a lot smaller than when it started...Here's what I said.

I had a good day yesterday. Scales going back down.
Breakfast - hardboiled eggs, cheese stick, banana
Snack - Protein bar
Lunch - Salmon, carrots, red pepper, brown rice cake
Snack - protein bar, banana
Dinner - Whole wheat pita with peanut butter, carrots

Workout - Extreme Intervals (new Chalean workout) and 3 mile run.

Dayna - Congratulations on surviving last week. Everything sounded so good!

Denise - good job on getting back on the wagon. I like Turbo Jam and the Chalean cardio workouts. I run mostly for my cardio but if I'm not running, I tend to like kickboxing more than step. In addition to Turbo Jam I like Ilaria, Janis Saffell, Kimberly Spreen. I've also recently picked up some Kelley Coffee-Meyer but haven't done her cardio workout yet. I also like Amy Bento's recent CIA video and the one from last year (not Rumble). Janis and Amy are probably my favorite kickboxing instructors.

Linda - I think now is a good time to lose the weight before the holidays kick in. Christmas is notoriously bad for me especially followed so quickly by New Years.

Just realized that I just posted on yesterday's check-in...with some really little font size...don't know how that happened.

Anyways, Debbie, congrats on another lb! I'm glad your mom did well with her surgery.

Linda - You gave me some inspiration! My b-day is on 12/10, so I'm going to make that my target goal. It's good to have a certain date to shoot for. I'm sure you'll meet and exceed your goal of Dec. 13!!

Cindi - Thanks for the recommendations! I really need something to bring me out of my workout funk.

Take care all,

Sorry I haven't been checking in. Things are crazy with school activities and my little guys have just taken turns getting sick. My high school daughter has me running on so many appointments with her these days - medical, dental!

So needless to say, I've done just okay. I started STS last week and am staying up on the rotation and I did throw 2 days of cardio in there. My PF is staying the same, so that's at least good just starting running again.

Debbie - glad to hear your Mom is doing well. I had no idea they have you walking the day after surgery.

Linda - I think with the holidays coming, we all will probably have some sort of target around that time. And then all of the holiday eating arrives......

Haven't had a chance to catch up on the previous days. Hope everyone is doing well.

I've had a slight big of success. Not much - but I'll take it!

I forgot to tell you all that I did Cardio Coach #5 today. Had a pretty good workout but my lower body is so tight. I need to stretch.

Hi all,

Everyone sounds like everyone is on track, and have all had a bit of success. They saw the slow changes are the ones to last, right?

Debbie, I'm glad your Mom is well and is up and walking.

I had a great eating day yesterday (the evenings are the toughest, but made it through with bells on) and got myself going at 5:30am with LowMax. I had jury duty this morning, and was excused due to business ties with one of the sides. Thank God for a few healthy snacks I had with me as the featured meals were vending machine nightmares. Buffalo style Fritos anyone?

Have a great day.

Okay, I had a small slip up this afternoon. DS's birthday is this weekend and I have to make his ice cream cake. So I did the smart thing and started right after I ate lunch that way I was full, but come on how does one work with ice cream and not eat ANY. Good news is I only ate what stuck to the lids, and felt to full to touch anything else. Matter of fact I threw some of it out!:D

Workout this morning was LIC Cardio Timesaver Premix and added Bounus Cardio from BM2. Workout was 54 minutes and I burned 453 calories.

Debbie: glad your mom did well with her hip.My MIL had her hip and both knees done a few years ago. She said the hip was a piece of cake compared to her knees.

I am embaressed to say this but I had what you would call an emotional eating melt down yesterday.:( I am dusting myself off and picking myslef up. Today is going much better.

This morning I did DM cardio blast, burned 396 cals. I just did not have the energy I usually have to put into this WO.

Sorry to have been MIA!
Linda, you struck a chord with me. Thank you! One of my nieces is getting married on December 12th - so that's my goal date. Never realized until the last few years what a goal-orientated person I am.
Deb, glad to hear your mom is doing well, but getting up the next day?!!
Cindy, thanks for listing some of your fav kb instructors. I really enjoy it, and am always looking for new ones. I also like Amy's new one, Kimberly's are for a lighter day, but have never tried Janis. How would you describe the intensity of hers?
Denise, we are all hitting for right around the same days as goal. A new dvd always helps get me out of a funk.
Debbie congrats on the success.
Melissa, any suggestions for snacks for when on the go?
Had a very hectic weekend with lots of socializing and then oral surgery yesterday. Then a neighbor saw my lights on and came to check on the house, and we had coffeecake together. So much for trying to take a sick day quietly at home.
I need to get on a rotation. On Sunday finished up one, and without one I flounder. Guess I need structure.
Cookie

Cookie, what a week. I hope the surgery went well, and I would be kicking folks out the door...Um, go home now ;);)

Heal well!!
