This poor video has been hiding under the front seat of my car for weeks! I didn't want my hubby to find out I bought another work out tape. I did it last night for the first time and just loved it! I didn't get all the moves down in the step section buy I'm sure it will come with more practise. And what exactly is hi/lo? The intervals on the CTX tapes that I have are so much fun, I am looking forward to doing Imax. :)

Hi Beth,

Yeah, 10-10-10 is one of my favorite Cathe's! It's a hoot! You get your kickbox, hi/lo and step "fix" all in one 30min workout!

Hi/lo is a term used to refer to floor cardio. So in 10-10-10, the first 10min is the kickboxing, the second 10min is the hi/lo, and the last 10min is the step cardio.

If I had to guess, and maybe someone with knowledge will chime in, I'd think the term probably came about because in it's infancy, possibly aerobics was a mixture of both high and low impact cardio, thus the term, hi/lo to describe it. Then of course step aerobics came along later.

Just a guess at it's origin, but the term "now" refers to floor aerobics.

Fitness~ it's a journey, not a race!

10-10-10 is fun, fun, fun! It was the first CTX cardio I did. I sort of did it to death and got tired of it, but I'm glad you posted about it. I think I'll get it out and give it another whirl!:D
I think all of the cardio's on CTX are fun! Do you have any other vids of the series? It is such a great series!!

I'm ready to start again, though :)

I have leaner legs, 10,10,10 kickboxing and all step. All step was the first aerobics tape I ever bought. Actually it came with the step. I really love all the CTX tapes I have so far. With my busy schedule, the cardio is just the right amount of time for me.

Yes Donna!

Your "guess" is right. Hi/Lo is just another way of saying that you are doing a mixture of high & low impact cardio/aerobics. "Floorwork" used to mean lying on the floor doing strength/toning. Of course, we all know FLOOR aerobics is STANDING, not lying down. :7

You might want to try one of Christi Taylor's hi/lo tapes. IMHO while Cathe is the 'queen of step', Christi is the 'queen of hi/lo.' If you're looking for low impact hi/lo, then you might try Charlene Prickett, the 'queen of low impact.'
