Good morning, cheetahs! J

Gloria—*lol* I think we may just be related. Do you send reminder emails to yourself?
dopey.gif
...Glad the visit went well. IA—every family tree has its share of nuts.
J…So, will the mock election be occurring via paper ballot, or are you using some of that new technology of yours?

Wendy—yep, they were the first to go in the bag this time. JThere will be some skiing, of course. But as mentioned before, with a pregnancy and now a newborn in our ski crew, things’ll be low-key for a couple of seasons, e.g. definitely no big trip out West like we have done annually.

I'm up a bit too early this morning, but I woke up with an idea of something to add to today's lesson. Too jazzed to nod off again after that.

This afternoon will be something along the lines of 3 miles. Forget how long the loop around school is.

Still feelin' some DOMS.

Hope everyone has a terrific day!

Good Morning!

Cathy: You have me laughing this morning! I indeed send myself reminder emails and I usually include a message like "Have a good day!" :)
With my school being 3-5, the paper ballot is a must IMO. The third graders are still learning how to be students. A lot of them didn't even know their address to fill out the voter registration sheets! My parents made me learn mine before I even went to kindergarten. I have been using the tech to film commercials for the candidates. Have a great run! Should be nice running on some new turf. Have you ever run around the school neighborhood before?

I asked my principal if I could skip a committee meeting I have this morning so I can work on the election. She immediately said it was not a problem. Thank goodness! I will be jumping on the treadmill shortly so I can get to school ASAP.

Have a FABULOUS Tuesday Cheetahs! :)

Gloria—Ha, that is funny! Gonna have to try that. :) Totally understand why you'd go paper. What a great learning experience this is for them. I've not run around/near school before—only scoped it out on mapmyrun.

OK, weather forecast may alter the plan. It is supposed to be windy (gusts up to 35 mph) and rainy all day. I'll bring my bag, anyway, and see what it's like. If it's too nasty, alternate options are running the hallways loop-de-loop style, hitting the TM, or doing an EXT circuit tonight and saving the run for tomorrow. Gonna roll wit it.

Tuesday musings

Hi Friends :)

Cathy- I am sure I missed this. How do I view your marathon pictures?

Posh- Oh, a bit of Cabernet in the sauce sounds delish'. I thinks DH would have a it if I poured any of his Cabernet into our sauce though. We had an outstanding bottle of Dominus Cabernet on Saturday evening after reuniting from Saratoga. ;)

Linda- I found a marathon/half marathon review site and the comments on Buffalo were all negative. run through questionableneighborhoods and no spectators in long stretches . So I was looking at both Ithaca and Utica halfs. I also sent my brother a note for suggestions. But I don't want to have a long drive back, as I may need to drive back the night after the race. Good going on your 10 mile single run. Is your race is this Sunday ?

Wendi- Dang it all about the Phili half!

Gotta post this. I'll try toget back to finish.

Mornin' Cheetah Peeps! :)

Had enough sleep last night but it was interrupted. Joey had a bad dream and woke up crying convinced that his feet hurt. It took both myself and DH to convince him that he was okay and to go back to sleep. KIDS! LOL

That being said, I still feel like I could crawl back in bed for another hour. Actually, I've been wanting to sleep later and later even though I am still going to bed at the same time. I was starting to wonder if something was wrong with me but it just dawned on me that it's probably because it's still dark out when I get up now. That makes it tough to want to get up in the morning and it's not even really cold outside yet!

Cathy: Gotcha on the new mom/newborn thing but it sounded like you had something else in the works that you wanted to do INSTEAD of skiing. Perhaps now is the time to scope out your local YMCA and take swimming lessons so you are all set to enter the first tri that comes along this spring/summer! :p Does your school have a track that you could run on? I think TNT offers track work outs. That will be something new and different for me if that's the case.

Gloria: So glad to hear that the visit went well and that you are planning on going back again. Wow a 3rd-5th grader that doesn't know where he/she lives? Joey is 3 and we started going over that with him quite some time ago already. To each his own. I am sure there are things I am not doing with Joey that lots of other moms are doing with thier kids. It happens, right?

Judy: Sorry Buffalo sounds like a bum deal. I'll bet your brother knows where to go! :)

Off to grab more coffee.

Good morning loverlies on this *lovely* rainy, dismal day:confused:!

Although, I shouldn't complain cuz meez thinkin' I'm gonna have a washout day:D:D...woohoo, doin' the happy dance alrighty! See, that's why I kicked bootay in the riding department yesterday, so I had a little leverage to have an easy one today.

So, for right now, it's going to be a quicky fly-by cuz I'll have time a bit later to catch up. I ended up doing 4DS KB Cardio + DM Cardio Blast...pure cardio bliss:D. *IF* I have time later I might do a little something else, not sure yet though.

Okay, gotta jet for now. BBL! Stay dry and warm east coasters!

OK, back for a bit with the second cup of Joe.

Wendi- I would be happy to meet up for a spring half with you. Do you have any suggestions? You can PM me your address and we could look for a happy in between. Warning: I am slow.

Gloria- Your Principal sounds like the understanding type. Is that the person who you walked with last spring?

Wendy- Running in the crappy areas of Buffalo does not appeal to me. But there has to be something to fit. Poor Joey. Does here even remember his dream this morning?

Shelly- What are you painting this week? The organizing never ends it seems. Your 12 mile country route run sounds very soothing. I looked you up on map quest. Your town is quite a bit more west and south than I imagined. A punching bag is on my mental wish list, although with the current stock market we are not even looking at our wish lists.

Karen- Is your crew maintaining a germ free/ symptom free week so far? ( keeping fingers crossed)

HI Carole and Christine!

Yesterday I ended up doing a hilly and pleasant 8 miler. The forecast was for a chance of rain at worst and partly cloudy, but I had sun the whole run and hi 40's. It was ideal. Today is a flat 3 miler I 'll probably do the TM to insure a flat run. Two straight days of hills is fine, but I don't want to push it. Geesh, I am gabby!

Good Morning cheetahs

Cathy...yes, Joey makes the music not to bad. But I know chatty Rich will drive me crazy friday. There are some fun exercises in that series. I didn't see your pics either?...Is there a link? Hope you can get in some cardio later today. Running in those windy conditions outsides is not real fun!

Wendy...Sorry about little Joey waking up. I don't enjoy the morning darkness much this time of year, I like the summer lightness!! Yes, Joey is very nice BBC eye candy..:)...it is nice to see Mom more comfy.

Wendi...the spraying incident was quite funny..:)..Glad Mom is close to me too. So sorry about Philly being sold out...:(...no other half mary's not to far from you? Good job with 4DS cardio premix.

Linda...I do remember about Madison and the electric fence. I am sure you will hear about Beau and my running...:)

Jackie..No, DH was at work yesterday..:D..So far Mom is not smoking and I think she might actually quit!

Gloria...Glad you had a nice visit with your Aunt. yes, quite a few families have some crazy stuff.

Judy..glad the weather didn't mess up the 8 miler yesterday. Enjoy your flat 3 miler today.

Today is my own leg pyramid exercises and 40 min on my EXT.

Have a great day...:)

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Carole – Oh, glad to hear that Beau did a good job! Are you enjoying the BBC’s? Those are fun. Glad to hear mom is doing well! I’ll bet she’s happy to be out of the hospital!

Karen – Glad to see you back! Hope you are not contaminated again! That is stupid of people to throw parties when they’re sick
.
Linda – Oh that feeling of just being “ON!” is so incredible. I don’t know why I’ve been having issues sleeping, but it’ll go away eventually. I think we all go through phases. Good job with your solo 10 miler! Sounds like you’re all set for next weekend!

Thomasina – Congrats to your son!!! That is so exciting! Great job in getting so much done this weekend! Jimmy is set to go to the groomer today. He needs it desperately!! The ole furball!

Shelly – Oooh, enjoy your 3 night stretch off!! I agree that time passes mores slowly when you’re not busy. I prefer being busy. I am looking forward to tracking you during the marathon! Too cool! ITA that a mattress would be a good place to put all of Jim’s fur. I don’t know where it all comes from – he’s only 60 pounds!!

Jackie – Sounds like you got in a great workout yesterday! Wow! My calves get sore from cycling – isn’t that funny? It’s from the pull up motion of using clipless pedals.

Wendy – Yeah, Jari loves to chat about nonsense. It’s too bad as her workouts are good, but I want to strangle her after a while. Maybe I should just do them without sound. :D Oh how exciting to be planning your first marathon!

Wendi – Oh man! Sorry to hear about the Philly marathon being sold out!!!! The cassoulet is a winner. I’d love to know your opinion. Too funny about Monkey. Sounds like he knows his worth. That’s always good!

Cathy – I loved your photos, lady! But you’re a beauty, so I expected the photos to be nice! I know I feel better if I get 8-10 glasses a day, so I aim for that. Glad you packed your sneaks!! Enjoy your run today! I hope it stops raining! The Phillies need to play!

Gloria – Hopefully Pip is not like Jimmy – who looks like Pigpen at times with fur flying instead of dirt!

Judy – Hope you find your marathon! Glad you got in a good run before the weather hit!

I didn’t sleep well again last night. Not sure why. Oh well, I’m not too bad this morning. I’m going to do GS Shoulders and Abs. I might toss in a run, too, but we’ll see. I have to take Jimmy to the groomer today and I was a little worried about work, but I think I’ll have made my monthly number by then, so my boss will be happy to let me go get him when he’s finished. :p Bummer about the World Series getting rained out last night! Go Phillies!!

Good morning cheetahs! blustery and rainy outside.... perfect weather to stay indoors and cross train;) My run yesterday went well so I'll take a running break today. Finally got the ceiling painted yest (here in the library/office where I am now) Believe it or not, it was painted orange:eek:

Carole- Backing off the legs about a month before the marathon is basically what I tend to do also so that's reassuring to me that you do the same! I've been a little slacking lately on the weights and I'm hoping that STS will get me fired up again. Speaking of weights... sounds like a primo leg day for ya! Very inspiring.

Wendy- Thank you so much for e-mailing me the race pics. I'll send you my address when I'm done here but I believe it's in my profile. Poor little Joey! I gotta admit tho, when I ready your story my feet started hurting! I've been sleeping ALOT later myself lately. We have black out shades on the bedroom windows so that really exacerbates it.

Wendi- Oh dear, I thought you had already signed up for Philly! Bummed right with you there girlfriend!!! I did so look forward to seeing ya. Well, there will be other races. Nothing at all til spring??? Congrats on selling Monkey BTW!! All your hard work definitely PAID off.

Gloria- Glad your visit went well. Any snow yet in your area? Good job on the yoga... I never have been able to get very enthusiastic about it, no matter who the instructor is! I guess your big election is today?

Cathy- oooooo YUMMY.. DOMsickles!! You are too funny! Dont forget those running kicks today!!! It's blustery, rainy and COLD here today, hope the weather improves for you this afternoon. Snow is still in the forecast for here tomorrow.

Judy- That marathon review web site sounds very useful... can you post the link? I bet the Ithaca HM will be a beautiful one!!! Yes, I am in the very southern part of Pa... in fact, our favorite shopping area is actually in Maryland. Great run you had there yesterday!!!

Linda- How does the weather forecast look for your marathon. Gettin mighty close now!! Anxious?

Jackie- Hope your work day is going smoothly and you are staying warm!

Ill be heading down to the cozy basement soon for Viper. Later will be a nice sweaty 40 minutes or so on the EXT.

tata

Shelly - Enjoy Viper! That's a goodie! It's kind of an icky day here, too. But we so need the rain!

I decided against the run because of the weather, but I wanted something with impact as cycling has none. So, my workout was Extreme Kettlebell Standing Abs, GS Shoulders, Kick Max Blasts and Cardio Kicks power drills. Fun little workout!! Now it's off to the office!! Joy. *said with total sarcasm*

Good morning Cheetahs!

Jackie – I hope you do end up having a new running buddy! It really helps to get ya out there….even if you don’t feel like it or want to 

Wendi – Oh gosh! I am sorry Philly is sold out! Were you wanting to do the full….or the half?

Wendy – Hmmm….I called BB last night and they told me “again” that it was shipped  It doesn’t take me that long to get stuff from them! Grrr! I don’t blame you for opting out! Sorry your sleep was interrupted! Poor little Joey…..nightmares are no fun! It feels sooo cold here…..I would love to go home and crawl under the blankets! It is funny, though, ‘cause it will be getting soo much colder! Guess it is system shock 

Cathy – The solo run did feel good! So are you doing well with the reverse taper? I am frustrated ‘cause I am having aches and pains and feeling tired……like I never did when my mileage was high  But I do know that is pretty normal during the taper. I know you had Achilles and hamstring trouble….but am I remembering correctly that you felt tired, too? Enjoy your day and don’t work too hard! (hope you are able to do your run without the windy conditions!)

Gloria – Glad the principle let you skip the committee meeting! Enjoy the treadmill run!

Judy – I don’t blame you for not wanting to run through the questionable neighborhoods, etc. It would also be bad if there would be no “spectators” through any of those areas. Seems scary! Yes, my marathon is this Sunday! Oh my….that sounds scary! Great job on your 8 miles yesterday!

Carole – Enjoy your PLB and EXT! Is it the same PLB “own mix” that you did the other day? That is wonderful that your mom has not been smoking!

Christine – I hope you met your “quota” and your boss lets you go get Jimmy! Your workout sounded wonderful! Sorry last night was another bad sleeping night! Hope you sleep tonight!

Shelly – They are going back and forth with the weather! The other day they said 31 to start….53 high. Then they said 51 to start and 63 high. “Now” they are saying 30 to start and 60 high. So…I have pants, shorts and ordered some Under Armour Capri tights. I will decide the night before what to wear. I am sure with those temps I won’t need pants…but I may do the capris. What do you suggest I wear? Enjoy the Viper and EXT! Good job on your run yesterday! I agree…it does sound like a good day for you to crosstrain!

This morning I ran 3 miles, did Core Max #3 and did a 10 minute Buns and Thighs section from 10 Minute Solution Pilates.

Hi to everyone! I will BBL!

Linda

Still not sick again yet. YEAH!!!!! I figure if I don't have it by Thursday I will be good to go again. We are all on the mend. So much so that I got in a good 5 mile run today. My calf was cooperating very nicely. I was so happy about that. I'm sure I could have gone another 2 or so miles on it but I didn't want to push it. I can't telll you how good that run was today. It felt like it was easy breezy. No effort. Let me tell you that hardly ever happens. The running Gods must have been lovin me today.

Cathy- Yeah, the weather is somthing here in MD these past two days.. If you don't get outside becasue you might get blown away then enjoy your indoor workout.

Gloria- Gald you don't have to attend the meeting today. Enjoy your run.

Judy- Ok, catch me up. When do you plan on doing the half. Your milage is going great with it being at 8 miles already. It's hard to pick a good race but no matter what you choose your gonna love it and do great. I'm sure of it.

Wendy- I keep changing my mind as to what full to do. I was committed to the OD marathon but now I may lean more toward DE. I would like to do the Fredrick but I mapquested it from my house and it's 2 hours away. I'm not sure if I want to hike that. At this point I'm still undecided.

Wendi- Great job on the 4 ds. I hope you get all you need done today.

Carole- I' m hoping your theory is right and that the party idiot was over giving any of her symptoms away. So far so good.

Christine- Hope you make you quota. What do you do if you don't mind me asking? Is it in the cycling industry since most of your co-workers cycle.

Shelly- I had to laugh at your last sentence. I dont' think anyone would use cozy and Viper in the same sentence. I hope the basment is so cozy you don't even know you are doing the Viper.

Linda- So it's getting close. I have been thinking about you all week. I know you have to be loving the taper. I can't wait for the full report.

Posh- Thanks for the healing vibes. I got them.

Hello to Jackie and Dallas.

Karen - I am glad you aren't sick! Maybe (hopefully!) that bug that the woman had won't get you and your family! Great job on your run! I am glad your calf was okay! I am enjoying the taper :0 But, it is hard to not do more! I know I shouldn't and can't...but it seems as if I have been "programmed" for so long to run further! Thanks for thinking of me :) Send me some of your speed and stamina, okay? :)

Fly by to say I ran 2 miles at a nice pace on the TM after work today and I'll be going back to the gym in a couple hours for the "Groove" class. I guess Step Blast will have to wait for another day. :p

BBL!

Okay, DS is home and settled in for the moment. We have just over an hour here before we have to head back out to the gym. The weather is awful. I wish I didn't have to go. Waaaahhhh!:(

Karen: So do you wanna come a bit further north and run the NJ marathon with me? :) Glad the bug hasn't gotten you and your family. Hopefully that means you are in the clear.

Linda: BB never did me wrong in the past. This is the first time I've had a problem with them. It figures it would happen when I quit coaching. UGH. I am sure I will order something from them again but right now I'm not keen on any kind of auto-shipment. Perhaps I will re-gain confidence and decide to do it in the future. I hope you get your dvd. Keep being a pain in the arse. If you don't get it soon they should send you out a replacement I would think. Have you tracked it through UPS?

Shelly: An orange ceiling!? LOL Those folks had strange decorating taste. Perhaps they were color blind??? I will check for your email addy. I never thought to look there. I can't handle shades that darken a room. When I stay in hotels and they have the super heavy curtains, I always make sure they are cracked so SOME light gets in or I'll sleep all darned day!

Christine: So mute Jari and play some tunes you like. Splendid idea!:) So is Jimmy looking like a million bucks now that's been groomed? I love the way my dog smells after he's been groomed. They always use really great smelling stuff on him. We had him bathed while he was at the kennel when we were in PA. He smelled like suntan lotion (coconut) for days! :D

Carole: Don't you use the no music option with BBC? I always use it. I can't stand the music in that series either. Rich is a complete dork IMO. LOL

Judy: I don't think Joey remembers what happened last night. I guess that's a good thing. I don't blame you for wanting to do a flat run after a couple days of hills. Too much of something is never a good thing.

Wendi: Hopin' your day is as easy as you wanted it to be today!!!!:)

Looks like that catches me up for the moment. Off I go...BBL!:)

Wendy - They said it shows it shipped on the 15th....but there is no tracking number....or the tracking doesn't work. I have gotten both stories. The lady told me the other night there was no trackng number. The guy last night told me it was not working...."but to rest assured, you should receive it in around 4 business days". This is the first problem I have ever had with them, and I have ordered just about every workout they have. Oh well....we will see what happens.

Evening, cheetahs~

Judy—Nice that you were able to enjoy the sunshine yesterday. The pics can be seen on the profile page.

Wendy—nope, I pretty much want to go everywhere. J But given the circumstances, this is a year to take advantage of other opportunities…Hmm, you must be mixing me up with someone else in terms of your references to the triathlon.
th_umno.gif
Not interested. *lol* Got plenty of other things on my plate to keep me busy, anyways...Maybe Joey dreamt he was running a marathon. *lol* Glad you still managed a good night’s sleep.

Wendi—great for you to have an easy day for a change.

Carole—if you click on my profile page, you should be able to access the photo album. Oh, that’ll be fun to have Beau for a running partner.

Christine—you’re making me blush—but thank you for the compliments. J I generally *hate* my pictures. We’ve got a lot of hardcore Phils fans walking around like zombies the past few days. Hope you made the numbers you need!

Shelly— That was a wacky thread title—don’t know why I wrote that. *lol* Figured we’re all hurtin’ or *about* to be hurtin’ soon. Anyway, it’s more like ICICLES out there. Blustery sure is the word. Had to laugh about the orange office. Give ‘em points for daring.

Linda—I am doing great with the reverse taper—enjoying running, listening to the body, and keeping it conservative. I’ll admit, I am keeping an eye on the hammy (it’s a liiittle tight) as well as a bit o’ weirdness I had in one knee on my last run, but generally, nothing I’m real concerned about. Cousin’s SO is *extremely* sore, she said, even after walking (the day after), getting a massage, doing the ice bath, taking Aleve, etc. Yes, I did feel tired—and I still do now—but I am more inclined to think it’s work that’s wearin’ me out. J

Karen—nice job with your run. Yeah, you ain’t kiddin’ about getting blown away. *lol*

OK, my downtime is over, but it was a nice, quiet mental break. I have not been able to get through my to-do list at school this week—between meetings, kids working in my room during lunch, and drop-by interruptions—I just don’t know where the hours in the day go. Not complaining—just sharing. But I seriously need to plow through some work tonight. Which means I'm gonna have to juggle the rotation and just make it work.

So I took Group Groove again tonight. It's such a fun class even though I am simply HORRIBLE at it!:p:D So that makes 2 classes down and one to go. I'll be taking Centergy tmrw morning after doing Butts n Guts. The stretch should feel awesome but the poses are gonna HURT!

Linda: Make sure you get on the horn with them ASAP if you don't get that disc with in 4 biz days then. Do you have a coach? You can email them to help as well. You SHOULD get better customer service that way.

Cathy: I've said it before but I'll say it again, I envy your ability to roll with things and not get flustered or upset about stuff. I stress way too easily over most things. So I am going to start getting on DH about skiing. I know it's probably too early to go yet but I want to make sure the idea is stuck in his brain so that we can go a few times this season. If I can't get a few trips down in one season then I'll never learn!:(

Alrighty, that's all for now. Good night Cheetahs!:)
