Hi Cheetahs!
Oh my. I just went to our nearest mall to go shopping for Christmas and people were everywhere! I don't mind shopping, but not being able to move your cart around and standing in lines for 10 minutes really bites! My nerves are standing on end! I really am a patient person in general, I swear. I try and be extra nice to the cashiers when it is crazy like this. Their jobs are not easy.
Cathy: Yes, the kids are a bit wired. I will be walking around the classroom while the kids are working and all the sudden someone will raise their hand and want to tell me about something they want for Christmas. I do not know if it is only kids in poverty, but do they want to tell you stories every morning and every time there is a transition? I am getting a little overwhelmed by it. I want to be a good listener, but I need to start teaching. It is getting worse as the holidays approach and I listen to some and then say "I know what you have to say is important, but I have to teach the lesson right now. Can you tell me this at another time." I can see in their faces that their feelings are hurt, but I have to do the other part of my job. Thank you for the card. I displayed it at school with the other Cheetah cards. One of my students asked about that card. Awesome workout today!
The worst gift I have received: I am grateful, but please, no more huge Christmas themed coffee mugs. I don't use them. I am a small coffee cup person because I don't like it getting cold. DH ends up using them to drink coffee on the way to work and gets razzed by everyone when he walks into work with his #1 teacher or snowman mug. I have a gazzilion of them from my years of teaching. Their hearts are in the right place.
Carole: Have a great time in LA with the gals!
Laura: You inspired me to do the original BC today! I don't think I will ever get sick of that one!
Wendi: I just love the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies! I think I will download it to my ipod tonight. I hope you are not getting sick! DH has a cold and he is doing ok. Usually he is a royal PIA and needs babysitting. Get the workouts in when you can. I have to say I'm tired of stressing myself out about getting the workouts in. I am fit and I will not be obese in a few days because I didn't work out. Life goes on. Take care!
Wendy: Or should I say "wild" Cheetah! What were you up to last night?
Dallas: I LOVE Pachebel's Canon! I listen to it every time I run not using Itread, which has been a lot lately. I mix it in with some Beastie Boys. Wierd, I know. Our concert band played that song in high school and it has always struck strong emotions for me. I loved playing my part as a clarinetist. Our last day is this coming Friday. I am spent. I can't wait. I sent you a message on the Yahoo group. I hope that I wasn't over stepping my boundaries. Just thoughts I was having at the time. Thank you for the card. It is so pretty!
Christine: Glad you are feeling better! Great workout! One of my students is an amimal lover like I have never met before. Her parents are respectable people and said that she is just drawn to the animals where ever she goes. She keeps asking me to bring Pip into the classroom. She writes the most amazing things about her past and present pets. It is pure passion. So good. I would love to share her writing with you gals, but I am not sure of the rules about that. It is good.
I did the original BC this morning. Love that one. We were invited to hang out with some friends, but I declined. I am tired. DH went, which is fine by me. I just didn't feel like socializing tonight, even though the BF's were there. This is not like me. I'm just tired. I can't wait till break. Take care Cheetahs!
