Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! :D

Gloria—I know, we are. J I saw the video of The Last Lecture. Very moving, and it sure helps put things in perspective. I'll bet the book would be an excellent read. Good to give those tired legs a break.

Carole—awesome long run! You are just en fuego!!! :D I had to laugh when I read about your oldest sis needing a slap.

Linda—that’s great that DD was able to finish most of her shopping. I’m sure that is a load off for her. Oh, how nice to run in the snow! That had to make the cold and wind somewhat more bearable. I’ve run with snow on the ground, but I don’t think I’ve ever gone for a run when it’s just coming down. What a great idea!

Wendi—Oh, I’m joking about my pace. It is slow, but I couldn’t care less—I’m just happy to get myself on that most uninspiring machine! ;) Good luck with all you have to do today.

Posh—*LOL* about your co-workers thinking there must be something wrong with you if you’re in serious mode. Oh, I would so love to work with someone like you. Mmm on the pepperjack. Funny, I was thinking the same thing about Christine’s DVD ride. We need those for the treadmill. Wonder if they could film, say, Hugh Jackman running up ahead of us on the beach or something. Now THAT would be a nice view, eh? *LOL*

Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning babes!

Well, Gauntlet ain't gonna happen cuz I overslept about a 1/2 hour and now I've lost my window. I *suppose* I could do something else shorter but I guess I'll just get going on the cleaning instead. See, I found out Saturday that mom and grandmom are coming here for T-day so I'm going to need all that time to whip the house into shape for grandmom:eek:.

Besides, meez gots some raging ab and lat DOMS from yesterday's workout...woohoo! I decided to do my mish mosh in front of my full length mirror and it made me really pay attention to form, especially in the ab department;). I might have to start doing that more often. Gauntlet might have been *too* much of a challenge for this bod this morning.

Posh - Nice that you have a new Whole Foods!!! I'm sooooo glad that we don't have any anywhere near me...I'd probably never leave the place:p! Glad you have had some beeeooootiful weather...perfect for that run:D. Lol, ah, but you see, Fridays are my Hump Days...coming off of a very late night on Thursday (Tuesday) if that makes any sense:confused:.

Cathy - I do applaud you for hopping on your DM. I know that I could hardly bare it last winter when I was forced to the gym to use 'em. Not my cup of tea...and I have more aches and pains on a TM than on the pavement:(. OMG, I would have to jump on a TM anyday if I was chasing Hugh!!!!

Gonna peruse briefly while finish up my cappuccino. I am loving my (well, it was actually my mother's but she couldn't figure it out and gave it to me about, oh 6 years ago...just broke it out Saturday) espresso machine these days. Ahhhhh, nice way to start the day:D. Then it's time to get down and dirty with the housework. TTFN!

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!:)

Yesterday was a long day especially considering how lousy I felt for a while in the afternoon. Thankfully I felt okay by the time our company started showing up around 4pm and ended up having a good time. By the time everyone was leaving though, I was spent. Everyone left by around 7 and I was in bed before 9. That being said, I feel pretty good this morning (except for this stinking cough) so I am considering a little CTX UB before work today. I'll hafta see...:)

Posh: Hey girl! Velveeta for grilled cheese? No way! Just regular white american cheese or the fat free crap I used the other day. My mom does make a killer mac-n-cheese with Velveeta though. YUM!!!!:D Seems I am the only Cheetah here who doesn't mind the TM. I started out on the TM though so perhaps that's why....???

Wendi: I hope you squeeze everthing in today! It's amazing how one's day off can seem busier then a work day, huh? LOL Enjoy your time spent with DSO later. ;) Dinner was yummy. We made baked ziti. Easier to put together then lasagna but just as tastey! :) Everyone loved it. We also had salad and then had an assortment of goodies for dessert-cookies, donuts and crumb cake-YUMMY! Nice job on the DOMS this morning!

Linda: Great job on the cold-n-windy run yesterday with Patty! I've run several times in the cold with my running buddy. It's tough to get started but once ya get warmed up it's not too bad. The wind is the worst though as it makes my ears hurt and ear muffs aren't the greatest solution when you are trying to have a conversation. LOL That reminds me, my running buddy has been very MIA lately. I must get in touch with her!!!!!

Carole: Awesome run!!! Can't wait to see the pic of the painting. Hope it works!

Gloria: Two Thanksgivings? Sounds fun! I watched some of The Last Lecture online a while back before the book was released. I always see the book in stores these days. I've considered picking up but just haven't yet. One day I will. Excuse me for asking a silly question but um...what's a hunting camp? I've lived in suburbia my whole life so I'm pretty clueless when it comes to that stuff. :)

Cathy: Charming? Thank you for the compliment but I could think of many words to describe my personality better then that! LMAO! :p:D;) As it turns out I began to feel better after a while so I was pretty much OKAY while the company was here. I admit though that the beer and wine probably helped! :D So will you be purchasing GH World Tour? I bought GH Aerosmith and it was disappointing so I'm a bit weary of World Tour. I hear it's supposed to be a good one though. Something to think about. No idea what my "gift" will be from Target. Probably a new exercise outfit knowing me. :) Yes, getting out of bed can often be a challenge! Especially now that it's getting colder...YIKES!

Hmmm...looks like I'm outta time for a work out. No biggie. If I really wanted to do it, I'd have cut out of here in enough time. Hoping to feel good enough later to get it done but I'm gonna have to play it by ear....

Later Babes! Have a great day!:)

Hey there Cheetahs!

Jackie – oh man! I don’t blame you for staying in bed until the power came back on! I hope it was not too long! Man! Glad you’re not too sore!

Linda – Hope your outdoor run went well! 5 miles in those temps is nothing to sneeze at. That sounds really cold! November is not a fun month. Oh and “real” weights, too! How are you feeling this morning?

Wendy – How’d the dinner go? I know what you mean about DOMS making you feel achy sick – not fun. I hope you’re feeling better today!

Cathy – thanks for the list. We should probably get another going with the newer addresses. I can handle that if you’re too swamped. Sounds like you got a great deal at Hallmark! Way to shop! I love getting that stuff done early. I’ve been picking up things here and there. Good job getting the TM done yesterday!

Gloria – Black bean soup sounds wonderful! How was it? We usually have two Thanksgivings – one so all the kids can attend (DD19 is visiting her mom, and DS25 usually goes to his GF’s), so we have dinner the weekend before (it’s this Saturday this year), then go to a Thanksgiving dinner party at a friend’s. :p

Carole – Way to go on the 18 miler! Wonderful pace! I’m impressed. I’m so happy about Beau. He sounds like a great dog.

Wendi – Sounds like you have a crazy day you have planned today. So, is it DSO ot housework? Hope the horses are feeling better today! I’m all for a 36 hour day today! I’d use it to catch up on sleep. I don’t like being rushed, and as we only have 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I need to move. :p Sorry you overslept! Oh man, Grandma is coming? Deep cleaning on the horizon!!!

Thomasina – it has been warm, hasn’t it? It was 85 on Saturday. Too weird in November. There are Runnervals – but not as many as the Spinervals. You could try one of those. They are for the dreadmill!

I did Bmax 2 BootCamp yesterday – it kicked my butt!! But I enjoyed it. Today is an Aerobase builder ride from Spinervals. This is my first of these. I hope I like it. :p Anyone who wants to be in the card exchange can PM me their address and I’ll put together the list (Cathy usually does it – I figured I’d give her a break) and PM it back out to everyone who wants to be on it. Enjoy all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..Thanks re: my run. I always love getting to that specific distance...:)..I know I should not write things like that about my sister but it does tend to frustrate me...a LOT!!!

Wendi...wow...sounds like a super busy day for Monday!! Enjoy half day with SO. I do let PITA get to me. I just can't stand it as she always gets out of any hard work...Tere were very nice memories Saturday...:)...thanks re: my run. it git to 81 yesterday, and that is very unusual here for November. Good luck with the cleaning this morning...

Wendy..so the dinner went well last night? Thanks re: my run..:)

Christine...thanks re: my run and Beau! Good job with the BM2 premix. I hope the Aerobase ride goes well.

Linda...sorry about the wind for the run yesterday. I have never been a fan of running in the wind...it is just to hard!! Great job doing 5 miles in that wind. Good job too with the GS workout and abs..:)

Posh...I am jealous, I so wish we had a Whole Foods!! We are supposed to get a Trader Joe's but someone seems to be dragging their feet there! Good luck with using the Garmin for the interval & tempo features. I was lazy there and just bought a Gymboss...

Today is P90X S&A, abs and a 5-6 mile easy run

Have a great day...:)

Good morning! My gosh, the weekend flew by!

Posh – I agree with you! I don’t like to run with snow/ice on the ground that I run! But this snow didn’t stick on the ground, so I was good to go :) Good job on your running Saturday! I wish we had a Whole Goods around here. !

Cathy – The TM is absolutely “uninspiring”! I know what you mean! I would love to be able to get outside and run everyday! With this time of year and the time change, it is dark by the time I get home….and dark when I workout in the mornings! :( The snow coming down was sooo peaceful looking! Do you have any ski trips planned any time soon?

Wendi – Ooo! The expresoo machine would be nice! I need some good ab DOMS! Which workout did you do? Was it from the KB mish-mosh?

Wendy – I hear you on the ears getting cold! I used a fleece headband that covered my ears and then my hat. It felt pretty warm! Enjoy CTX upper, if you feel like doing it! I hope how soon you are 100%! So, the dinner went well?

Christine – Yep! I did “real weights” yesterday! ;) I loved it! So far, today I feel okay! But….it hasn’t been 24 hours yet…so tonight I will probably be sore! I did the weights last night. This morning, though, I did not run or workout. I am taking the day off! Good job on BM2 Bootcamp! That is sweet of you to do the cards and give Cathy a break! Enjoy your Basebuilder Spinnerval!

Carole – Enjoy your P90X S&A and run!

This morning I set my alarm for 4:15….got up….went to the potty and decided to go back to bed! I had run 3 days in a row…and since I am still supposed to be recovering, I decided to take a rest day. So…I did! :)

Hey to everyone checking in later…and who doesn’t!

Have a good day!

Linda

I wanted to post that seperately - sorry for being a bandwidth hog here!

Carole - Aerobase did not go as planned. I got another *$%&*(#&*$(# flat tire. I'm going to have the shop change it this time. Grrr... But, I did get 30 minutes in, then I tacked on the combos from Step Blast, so all was not lost. Sounds like you have a good workout for today!

Linda - Hope you're not too sore tonight! But, a little bit would be nice - just enough to know you worked hard. :D I'll bet it felt good. I LOVE that first real weight workout after a hiatus. Enjoy your rest day.

Well, as I told Carole, I got another flat tire while doing Aerobase today. So, I finished off with the 3 combos of Step Blast (did not get to the challenge, though), so all was not lost. I'm really crazy at work again today, but I'm taking a quick break to get in a Cheetah fix! :D

Well ladies, no work out for me this morning and I doubt I'll be doing anything at home this afternoon either. I think I am going to take a Pilates class at the gym at 5:30 and call it a day. I MIGHT sneak in a quick 20 minute run after class though...;) I plan to resume with my rotation tmrw by doing some combo of the upper/lower/cardio that is left to finish up over the next couple of days. :)

Christine: Although I've done it in the past and loved receiving all of the cards, I just wanted to let you know that I will be passing on the Christmas card exchange this year. I would like to keep my list as short as I possibly can this year. That means I'm only sending to those that DH insists upon to avoid an argument with him. It's nothing personal against the Cheetahs, TRUST ME! :) The dinner went well. We had baked ziti. Easier to put together then lasagna and just as yummy! Sorry about your flat. Hope you can get it fixed soon!

Linda: Good for you taking a rest day just cause you felt you needed it! I tend to push through if it's not my intended day off. Yes, dinner was a hit. We had a good time and it was yummy too! We have left overs if you'd still like to come over! ;)

Carole: So how far along in your X rotation are you? I wonder if I'll ever wrap my mind around another rotation!? Heck I wonder if I'll be able to complete an STS rotation!!! I swear I have the attn span of a flea at times!:D So has your mary training OFFICIALLY started yet or are you still building your base mileage?

That's all for now ladies.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hiya cheetahs! Work for me was VERY busy for the whole 12 hrs but that's okay, makes it go by faster. Actually the hours weren't that bad for me (3p-3a) I slept well from 0500 to noon and am ready to go in tonight for my standard 7p-7a. I got in a good workout with ITR and then S&H Bis/abs. I've been working my way thru S&H upper body- did chest/back on Sat, Tris yesterday.

Christine- How nice of you to do the Card Exchange this year!! Great job on climbing Mt Lemmon the other day (LOL) If I had stayed in Az I would have done the Tucson marathon eventually--- it's supposed to be hard but quite beautiful! Nice job with the BM2 BC workout.

Jackie- Yikes! I hope those power outages don't happen that much for you! I wouldn't have wanted to get out of bed either! My polar bear husband does shut the thermostat off at nite tho and I swear sometimes in the morning I think I can see my breath indoors! Fortunately it doesn't take long to heat up where I can feel my fingers again!

Linda- I bow down to you in awe for braving the elements yesterday and running 5 miles in that freezing cold wind!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek: Cold I can handle okay and wet weather too but I can't stand strong wind!!! You certainly deserve your rest day today!

Wendy- Nice job with the itread yesterday. Actually I am with you in that I really don't mind using the TM at all except for very long distances. I particularly like my TM--- it's very well made and gives me a comfortable run. Hey, I'm also wondering how I'm ever gonna stick with an entire STS rotation!!!! I'll give it a try tho. Glad your GTG and dinner went well last nite.

Cathy- Very glad to know I wasn't the only cold wind weenie yesterday:p
Hope your Monday is going well for you!

Gloria- My marathon is in Philadelphia and is next Sunday, the 23rd:eek::eek:.
It is going to be seriously cold tho! -- Oh well, at least no strong winds are forecast. Your Thanksgiving plans sound so nice!!! Celebrating at your Dad's hunting camp sounds particularly interesting.

Carole- Fabulous job on that 18 miler yest! IA with Cathy you are ON FIRE!!! Look out Napa!!

Wendi- Busy busy day for you getting in everything. Hope clean max went well. Let me know what the vet's verdict is about Nick.

Posh- Whole Foods is my absolutely most FAVORITE store!!! Just wish it weren't so darned expensive. I save going there for when I want to treat myself. I guess it's a good thing there isn't one too close to me or I'd be shopping there too much I guess. The temps for the Philly marathon will actually be a tad colder then the PFChang RocknRoll race we both did. Starting temps will be in the 20s and it wont even warm up to 40:( Well, I will do some serious gear shopping and be prepared this time!!!

That about catches me up cheetahs! Time to get ready for work.

tata

Wendy - absolutely no worries! I, and I'm sure the rest of the Cheetahs, understand how crazy things can be. And there is the little situation with our economy as well. It's fully optional. Enjoy pilates!

Shelly - Sounds like you're getting some great workouts in! Glad the 3-3 shift wasn't so bad. I enjoyed the jaunt up Mt. Lemmon - it was a lot like the ride up Sandia, but I think a little less steep. I'd have to ride it for real to be sure. Love watching the change from desert to pine forest. I do miss the extremes of the desert.

Hi Cheetahs!

Carole: The soup turned out really well. I met my DH in college. We both worked at Red Lobster. So your DH is a deer hunter too? He shot a 4 point last night. The deer out here do not as get big as the ones out west. There is more to eat out there. We live in a plethora of Jack Pines. Your runs are impressive lately! Great work! :) I would also like to see that pic that you found at mom's house! :)

Linda: No worries about missing me, it is ok. :) DH is not a part of the federation either. Did you know that Trout Unlimited originated in Grayling, MI where I live? Pretty cool useless fact! :) I am looking forward to Thanksgiving for some reason this year. I usually don't get all geeked up for the holidays, but this year I am feeling different. I am so glad you got out to run with your friend!

Wendi: Oh no, that stinks about the horse. :( I would imagine the horses get upset over the shooting. When I met DH I was an anti hunter, but schooled on it by him. It is population control around here I guess. I will admit that on the way home from my mom's house on opening day I shed tears for those deer that were going to be killed. I have sat in a tree stand many times with DH and he would never shoot anything with me there. It is nice to be in the quiet of the woods. I am so happy you are able to get in some awesome workouts! :) We will be doing a traditional menu at Dh's dad's hunting camp, but here we will pull some things out of the freezer and I will make some nice appetizers and salad. I am excited!

Posh: Sounds like a lot of us do two Thanksgivings. Good to see you! :)

Cathy: I am almost done with the book. It makes me think that man, I'm only 32. I've got a lot to live through! LOL! My coteacher and I were talking to my principal this morning. We have severe declining enrollement due to the economy here in MI. All the people who are leaving are going out of state. I really hope things turn around soon. Even my aunt who came to visit from Maryland said she can't believe how rampant the poverty is in MI. I am really glad I rested the legs. I think it was LM blast premix. Owie! How are things going for you at school? I was thinking about you today teaching 8th graders. That is a tough job IMO. Although, all the MS teachers always said that the 8th graders are not as squirelly as the 7th graders because they were terrified to go to the high school. They were trying to get their "act" together.

Wendy: I like the book, not the best I've read. Considering the circumstances, it is well written. It is so funny to me that you do not know what a hunting camp is! Not in a bad way of course! Just regional differences. It is a sizeable piece of property in the woods with a cabin on it. The guys/gals go there to hunt and spend the night. Simple as that. Dh's dad's cabin is quite posh, so we are having Thanksgiving there. He has worked hard to make it the way he wants. It is a place he can go and relax. How are you feeling? Good idea to rest today!

Christine: The black bean chili turned out well. It is almost as good as Carole's bean soup recipe! ;) I have done the BM2 bootcamp and agree it is a killer! I could not even get all the steps down and it whipped me! Thank you for organizing the card exchange! :)

Shelly: When I was in AZ they had Trader Joe's and Whole Foods all over the place. Here, not so much. :( I am sure you will do fantasic with the marathon in Philly! I was actually thinking today that I haven't been rooting you on enough, but I know you don't need it. You are Shelly! :) I am looking forward to your race report! We will actually be going to DH's dad's hunting camp. :)

Off to write the plans for tomorrow. 5 mile run in the bag today. Of course on the tm. It is too dark for me to run outside during the week. The afternoon workouts just don't work for me. Have a wonderful night Cheetahs!

Evening, Cheetahs!!!! :D

Life is super crazy today, but wanted to check in & let you know all systems are still "go!" Got back to the gym, did 3.84 miles on the elliptical (40 min) & 5.25 miles on the stationary bike (15 min). Feeling good, nearly zero foot pain no matter what I'm doing. :) Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be able to test run a teensy bit to see what's up.

I'll get all caught up with the latest & greatest with ya tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing well!

~Brighton~

Hi Cheetahs

I just wanted to chime in that I am back from my wonderful trip with DH. After a busy day of catching up and such I thought I would take a peek in Cheetahville. :) I trust all is well with all of our Dear Cheetahs?

On vacation I managed 3 runs:6 miles, 4 miles and 4.5 miles. Today was a 10 miler! I did it with a goal of a 10:00 to 10:15 pace. my pace averaged out to 10:01. not bad as I have not run 10 miles since last fall.

Tomorrow I will attempt personals, tonight it just isn't going to happen. ( too exhauseted!)

Evening Ladies!

I'll follow Brighton's and Judy's lead and do a fly by for now. I had good intentions of getting here. DH decided to put the trees up y-day. I just finished the second one, but I have to go to bed. Tomorrow is a super early start. I'm working DS's book fair. :) I want to work out first, otherwise it won't happen. I have a hair color tomorrow as well.

Today, I did 3.25 miles on the treadmill, Amy's 10 min abs, and PUB after getting the kids on the bus...ab DOMS already. :) Oh yeah, foam rolling and stretch was in there too.

I hope to get back here tomorrow. I see I have a lot of catching up to do.:)

Hope you have a great Tuesday!
