Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! :)

Gloria—How’s the tallying going? Is your school closed on election day? Our kids are off, but we have an in-service.

Wendi— Wow, that was some weather you had up there! Can’t imagine having to do busy work in that . As for me, uh, yeah, it does let up…we just go through patches of chaos…*lol*…Is it related to the woman out on maternity? Sort of. She’s back this year, but she resigned as team leader, which I had been filling for her last spring. That’s part of the extra work. Another part of it is that every other day, I co-run the news show that is broadcast every afternoon. The woman who operates the studio as her FT job has been out since the second week of school. (She had hip replacement surgery, and there’s been no sub for her.) Won't bore you with too many details, but suffice to say, there’s just a lot going on. So, I’d save your hope for something worthwhile ‘cause I, for sure, am not shooting for workouts right now. *lol*…but it’s all good. It’s like this sometimes, and that’s OK. :)

Christine—LMBO…uh, that would be a nooooo. :D What do you think caused the biceps DOMS?...Would love to see a pic of Jim in his sleek new ‘do. Mmm, what your friend dropped off sounds mighty tasty. How long does Diwali last?

Carole—thanks for the good luck wishes. You truly look phenomenal. I know you & Posh are gonna ROCK Napa!

Linda—the forecast does sound great for Sunday. I am so, so pumped for you! Will your family be there to cheer you on?...It’s too bad we probably won’t be able to track you…the MCM tracker was so great to have; you could follow the runner the whole way, not just at the splits…Kathleen really ran it hard…thanks! So nice of you to say.

Jackie—Miss you when you can’t post…hope that computer situation gets fixed.

Shelly—there is a nice, little office where I can escape to—it’s called the bathroom. *lol* …So, what are you reading these days?

Posh—I think it’s awesome that the asthma doesn’t hold you back from running. I think you are so right about body size not being the sole determination of race performance. When I first started racing, I remember seeing this one guy with a giant Buddha belly, and of course, he ran shirtless. I made the mistake of thinking he must’ve been outta shape. Wrong! That guy could run. Learned a good lesson that day. Unfortunately, many people—both runners and non-runners—judge based on appearance or speed. I know I am heavier now than when I was in my running “heyday” and some people in my life seem to discount my advice. Just because I’m not at my ideal weight doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten all the training principles that I learned before. But hey…*shrugs*…regardless of the number on the scale or the Garmin, I run because I love it, and that’s all that matters to me…those who want to snub can go scratch as far as I’m concerned. J…BTW, just have to say how much I love your posts—so funny, so UP, always gets me smiling. Much appreciated.

Wendy—good job fitting in B&G and Centergy.

Judy—have a great time in Chicago. Happy b’day to DH & good luck to DS.

Karen—sorry things are not better for your mom.

Didn't have time yesterday morning to post and was too tired last night. As mentioned yesterday, school matters have to take priority right now. Today we're on a field trip that involves a lot of walking, so that's probably all I'll get in the way of exercise. Gonna have to be a weekend warrior. :)

Hope your day's a great one!

Good Morning Peeps. :)

I don't know what the heck I'm smilin' about...I am soooo sore! Believe it or not it's not my booty or legs that are killin' me either-well not YEt anyway....It's more CORE! YIKES! I guess between the killer ab/core work in class and then Joey's oblique torture, I really burned it up! I'm hurtin'all the way around the rib cage. OUCHEES!:eek:

Cathy: Hope you have a fun day today. Where'd the field trip take you? Joey just went on a field trip y'day. They went on a hayride and picked a pumpkin. He got to ride a school bus for the first time and really enjoyed it. Too cute. Your marathon pics are great btw. I looked at them days ago you know but forgot to mention them. DOH! :p

Karen: Sorry your mom is still in pain. Hope they can figure it out and get her some relief real soon. (((HUGS))) Good job gettin' in some weights today despite how busy you were. Probably felt great to release some of the stress/anxiety and focus on something positive.

Judy: Have a safe trip. Tell DH I say happy birthday! :D

So the rotation calls for the BM cardio blast. I won't be doing that. :p I'm taking my gear with me and will run on the TM after work. Tuesday's run was steady state so today I will run with Grace or Sean. ;)

BBL Ladies!

Hey there Cheetahs!

Carole – Oh yeah, Joey’s standing core work – that is TOUGH! (but good!). Too funny about Karen’s dogs gaining weight! Glad your mom is happier though! Jimmy does seem happier. Work isn’t too stressful. I sometimes just go through a night or two of insomnia. Thankfully it usually passes quickly enough.

Wendy – I’ll bet you enjoyed the Joey Eye Candy! :D Oh yeah, I know you love Indian food! ‘Tis the season for us to eat tons of it. :D Huskies… wow, I used to have one – they don’t so much shed as blow their coat. And when that coat goes, it GOES!!! Amazing. Enjoy the sore core! I love being sore there!

Linda – Oh, that’s a nice small marathon! Not the craziness of the Chicago! You’ll enjoy running this one! I cannot wait to hear all about it! The weather sounds perfect!!

Jackie – I hope your log on issues at work get resolved!! I don’t blame you for not wanting to get BACK on the computer once you’re home. I have no clue what I did for bicep DOMS. :p

Judy – Yes, our friends are very thoughtful. She knows we don’t know how to cook the traditional Diwali dinner, so she provides it for us. DH and her DH have been friends for years, so we’re all pretty close.

Shelly – I’m not a fan of the wind either. Glad you were able to get in 5 miles of the dreadmill. Good job on getting the orange ceiling painted – I’ll bet the house is starting to come together! How fun!

Thomasina – Yes, the groomers do such a good job, unfortunately we pay a bit more than $17! I wish I could find a good, inexpensive groomer like that! Jimmy is looking cute, though. I’m so happy I’ll get to see you in Napa, too! I guess I should reserve the condo! :p

Karen – Hope you are back on track today! Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your mom and the fact that they cannot seem to figure out the pain! I hope it’s not the cancer, too! I’ll keep her in my prayers.

Cathy – Diwali is kind of like Christmas in that it technically lasts one day, but everyone parties for a while on it. :p And to be fair, there are a bunch of celebrations around the date. I’ll work on getting that photo of Jimmy looking sleek and good! He’s a goofball! Enjoy the field trip!

YAY PHILLIES!!!!! I just realized that the last time the Phillies won the World Series (1980) I was the same age as DD15. Of course, she was not a thrilled as I was back in 1980. :DI’ve slept very well the last two nights – thanks to everyone for your concern! It felt wonderful! I have GS Chest and Legs (standing only) with abs on the docket for today. I wonder if I’ll be able to move later today.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...Thanks, you are so sweet. I think we will have a lot of fun in Napa. I was reading your post to Posh. I have found it is more often non runners that seem to judge on size. I remember someone saying to me that I was not built like a runner. I explained about all the various sizes, shapes and ages I have seen in marathons, so what actually did they mean? Well, most non runners feel any runners should look like the "elite runners". You and I both know that is nowhere near the truth!! I personally don't feel size or speed matters. Runners are just a different breed, and they make running an important part of their life. I know it sure has gotten me through some tough times and I will continue for as long as I can...which is a long time I hope!! Enjoy the field trip.

Wendy...Yes, I did turn off the music in BBC. Made it for a much better workout. Any kind of wrap will be not as harsh on the nails as acrylic. I have had good luck with fiberglass myself, but you need to find a nail tech that likes to do that kind of nail. Joey got my obliques sore too!!! Enjoy your run today.

Linda...I probably never posted that my BIL had asthma issues...:)...They have never allowed smoking in their home. So I do hope that helps Mom stay away from it too. Glad to hear your marathon is only about 45 min away. Your marathon temps look good!!

Jackie...Mom has not mentioned if she feels better about not smoking. When she brought it up I just told her I thought anyone who quits, no matter their age, will benefit from quitting. I also said it would benefit her bones healing to NOT smoke..Yes, yesterday was Barry...he is tough! Good job with 4DS yesterday.

Judy...I have had some long rides home from marathons (3-4 hours) and no matter what you do , you will be sore so to me it really does not matter..:)...Interesting article. There is no question about a half being easier on the body and recovery time being less than with the full marathon. But for some of us runners, the marathon still has some intrigue. Something abut going 26.2 is one incredible feeling to me, and I never got that in any half mary...:)

Shelly...I am with you on hating the wind, especially with rain!! I would love to have extra shelving in my closets. Glad DH helped you guys out there! I am not quite as chiseled as I want...but it is funny now how the weight has shifted. I lost more in my butt & thighs and less in my stomach, usually that was reversed. But I sure feel better, and I know my running is better for the weight loss. You have no reason to be green, you are in fantastic shape and I bet your weight loss will only improve your running abilities. I can't wait for STS, I think it is coming at a great time !!

Posh...Yes, we will have to do some B-Day celebrating at Napa as this will be my 50th in Feb!!! No, I have not signed up for Napa yet. DH won our FB pool. I am sucky at picking points!! Now we are tied 3 and 3. Thanks, I am glad to see Mom doing well.

Karen...you have been busy with your parents and cleaning their house! Sorry about your Mom still being in pain. You have my continued thoughts and prayers.

Today will be some legwork, abs and a 5 mile easy run.

Have a great day...:)

Trying to post some before I get moving on with today. Just got finished a 4 mile run. Legs felt ok but not as good as Tues. My arms on the other hand feel like lead. I haven't done heavy weight like slow and heavy in sooooooooo long. My back has doms and so do my tris' something feirce.

Anyway off to start school, library and then to a homeschool halloween party this evening..

Cathy- Enjoy your field trip today. Are you going to the pumpkin patch?

Wendy- Have a great run today. Did dh decide what he was going to be along with your biker chick for the halloween party. Or did I miss it last week when I was sick..

Christine- Glad you have begun to sleep well again. It probably was just one of those things. I go through that sometimes as well.

Carole- Have a great run today. Thanks for your prayers about my mom along with everyone else who thinks of me and my family. I really appreciate it.

Good morning to the rest of my girls.

Karen – I hope they find out what is going on with your mom. I am sorry the lithotripsy didn’t do the trick. Maybe if she continues to force fluids and flush the little fragments out….maybe the pain will stop?? (if it is from the stones.) I hope it is nothing else. Hope you got some rest. Good job with your run! Enjoy your party and your day!

Judy – Thanks so much for your faith in me and the marathon :) I hope you are right! :) How cool that DH’s birthday is on Halloween! That would make it fun to decorate and celebrate!

Cathy – I know my DH will be there. My youngest daughter will be there at the finish after she gets out of church. She is pregnant and it wouldn’t be good for her to try to stay the whole time with all of her problems. I am hoping my oldest DD will be there…but with my two little GK’s….I kind of doubt it :( Hopefully….my sis will be there :) Not sure, though. Thanks for being pumped for me! I hope you have a good day! Enjoy the field trip and the walking! That should be fun :)

Wendy – Enjoy your run! That sounds fun :) Oh, by the way….my One on One came yesterday. It is “All Arms”. It doesn’t have shoulders, back or chest. Wonder if those will come next?? I sure hope so! Sorry about your Core DOMS!!!! But…don’t ya just love it?? ;)

Christine – Yay! I am so glad you finally slept well! I didn’t have a preference on the WS….so…I am glad your team one! :) Enjoy your workout! Man! I sure miss my leg work…and actually…all weight work! :(

Carole – Enjoy you legwork, abs and 5 mile run! Do some leg work for me, okay? ;) We don’t allow smoking in our house, either. My oldest DD has asthma. The bad thing is …when she moved out on her own, started smoking!!! How dumb is that?? :(

This morning was my last run until the “Big One”! I ran 3 miles and did some pilates abwork. That was it.

Hey to everyone! I will BBL!

Hi cheetahs! Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday so far. Got in a nice 8 mile run today and I hope to get in some upper body weight work before my nap. Back to work tonight:) We did get alot accomplished yesterday. Organized and got the last of the boxes out of the master bedroom, kitchen and dining room:D Well, we actually cheated some... moved a few boxes down to the basement simply cuz we can't figure out where to put the stuff yet!! We made countless trips to the landfill... gave away items like crazy before we left Az and we still have TOO MUCH STUFF:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Help, I'm married to a pack rat!! Well, at least he is an organized and clean pack rat;) I don't know how many times I have thrown something out only to have him fish it out with the explanation...
"I'll be able to use that!!"

Okay, enough ranting...

Posh- Nice to hear that you are doing well and managing to keep up (can be a challenge!) I sure hope you have some fun/relaxation time over your holiday break and will not just spend it painting and organizing!! I think Napa will have ideal conditions for you to achieve your marathon goal. That course looks fantastic!

Linda- Your running outfit for the Marshall Marathon sounds perfect to me!! Countin down the hours now eh? Yes, I was quite happy to dispose of my disposable warm up suit even tho I did feel colder! Wow, already at that LAST RUn!!!!! I so look forward to reading your race report. I'll be doing my last 20 miler on Sunday so I'll be thinking of you as I'm running!

Wendy- I'm sure you'll have no problem beating that 6 hr time limit on your marathon. In fact, I'm a thinkin it'll be pretty closer to 5 then 6 hrs. It sounds like you do have a bit of a closet crisis going on at your house.... okay, I won't complain about mine anymore! Actually it sounds like you could use my DH puttering around your place for a bit! He's a great handyman and retired so he's having a ball right now with all the projects. That Groove class does sound like fun... I bet your one of the participants who everyone looks at and envys! Hey, that 8k race does sound nice! Too bad it's so soon after the philly marathon.. don't think I'll be quite up to it!

Karen- Oh my, you are a godsend to your parents.... I do hope they appreciate you!! Prayers for you Mom and that she can find some relief soon.

Judy- Have a fun and safe trip!

Cathy- LOL about your "escape room". You never do lose your sense of humor do ya? Love your note to Posh about runners body sizes... so true! It's just plain ignorant how some people feel if you don't look like Deena Kastor you can't possibly know what you are talking about!! Hope your field trip goes well today... where ya goin?

Christine- Glad to hear you are back on track and have slept well. I was glad not to be at my apartment at Philly still... it must have been a madhouse around there yesterday! I was quite happy they won tho... have a fondness now for the Philly teams! Have fun with the GS series today.

Carole- Love your response to Judy about the half versus the full mary. The sense of accomplishment after completing a full marathon is like nothing else!!! Thank you for your complement about my being in shape. Actually, I've been in better shape... this tremendous move has taken it's toll on the old bod. The stress has kinda worn me down but all in all I'm better off and feeling more confident then I did a few months ago. Hey, I forgot to mention how thrilled I am that your Mom has quit smoking!!! Awesome!!!

Hi Jackie- Hope your day is going well!

Hi Gloria= How did the mock election go? Who won???

That's all for now folks....

Hello Cheetahs!

Shelly - Don't blame you for opting for the TM instead the windy cold. Glad you got that orange ceiling painted. Know you'll be glad to get all of those boxes out of the way. Good thing that pack rat is neat. :D

Posh - Understand the time issue when it comes to posting. Just do what you can when you can. You need to get those workouts in! ;) Hope Smokey is back to himself before long.

Linda - Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for your race. I got on today from work by googling Cathe instead of going through my favorites. Don't know what's up with it. Yeah get tired of being on the computer at times.

Wendy - It's nice that you can get errands done and some "you" time without having to worry about Joey. And, he's probably having fun too. I was never a SAHM but I always liked having a day off work without having to worry about the kids. Heck, they still turned out pretty good if I have to say so myself. Always get some good DOMS from BBC core work. Hurts to cough. You can handle it. :D

Karen - So sorry that your mom is still in pain. Will continue to keep her in prayer. Good job with the 4 mile run!

Judy - Hope you had a safe trip. Happy Halloween Birthday to DH!! Hope he likes his gifts.

Cathy - Hope you had a fun field trip. When is the first school break for you?

Christine - The baseball game seems like it was over quickly. Was it a continuation or something? I haven't been keeping up with it. Glad you have slept well. I see DOMS in your future.

Carole - I've heard people make the same comments about vegetarians. They just don't look like one. Of course, they come in all shapes and sizes and if you're not eating properly, it will show up. Maybe your mom will keep in mind all you're telling her. Enjoy your legwork and run.

Today's workout was iTread #9 60 minutes and Cathe's Basic stretch. It was a 5 mile pace run today.

Hope you're having a great day!

We had a great time at the party tonight. It was cool outside but felt very Halloweenie!!!!!!!.

Linda- I'll be thinking of you all weekend. I'm so glad the last three miles are in. I bet you are too.

Jackie- Thanks so much for your thoughts. Great job on the pace run today.

Shelly- Thanks so much for the hugs. She is getting the fluids in and even passed another small stone today. Her other stones are with the doc now so he can tell her which type they are. Great workout today.

Off to bed it's 10:30 and the kids are still up. Tomorrow is Halloween so I'm sure I won't be around to much. We usually go to dh 's parents house so my girls can trick or treat with their cousins. Night
