Good morning, cheetahs!
Gloria—How’s the tallying going? Is your school closed on election day? Our kids are off, but we have an in-service.
Wendi— Wow, that was some weather you had up there! Can’t imagine having to do busy work in that . As for me, uh, yeah, it does let up…we just go through patches of chaos…*lol*…Is it related to the woman out on maternity? Sort of. She’s back this year, but she resigned as team leader, which I had been filling for her last spring. That’s part of the extra work. Another part of it is that every other day, I co-run the news show that is broadcast every afternoon. The woman who operates the studio as her FT job has been out since the second week of school. (She had hip replacement surgery, and there’s been no sub for her.) Won't bore you with too many details, but suffice to say, there’s just a lot going on. So, I’d save your hope for something worthwhile ‘cause I, for sure, am not shooting for workouts right now. *lol*…but it’s all good. It’s like this sometimes, and that’s OK.
Christine—LMBO…uh, that would be a nooooo. What do you think caused the biceps DOMS?...Would love to see a pic of Jim in his sleek new ‘do. Mmm, what your friend dropped off sounds mighty tasty. How long does Diwali last?
Carole—thanks for the good luck wishes. You truly look phenomenal. I know you & Posh are gonna ROCK Napa!
Linda—the forecast does sound great for Sunday. I am so, so pumped for you! Will your family be there to cheer you on?...It’s too bad we probably won’t be able to track you…the MCM tracker was so great to have; you could follow the runner the whole way, not just at the splits…Kathleen really ran it hard…thanks! So nice of you to say.
Jackie—Miss you when you can’t post…hope that computer situation gets fixed.
Shelly—there is a nice, little office where I can escape to—it’s called the bathroom. *lol* …So, what are you reading these days?
Posh—I think it’s awesome that the asthma doesn’t hold you back from running. I think you are so right about body size not being the sole determination of race performance. When I first started racing, I remember seeing this one guy with a giant Buddha belly, and of course, he ran shirtless. I made the mistake of thinking he must’ve been outta shape. Wrong! That guy could run. Learned a good lesson that day. Unfortunately, many people—both runners and non-runners—judge based on appearance or speed. I know I am heavier now than when I was in my running “heyday” and some people in my life seem to discount my advice. Just because I’m not at my ideal weight doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten all the training principles that I learned before. But hey…*shrugs*…regardless of the number on the scale or the Garmin, I run because I love it, and that’s all that matters to me…those who want to snub can go scratch as far as I’m concerned. J…BTW, just have to say how much I love your posts—so funny, so UP, always gets me smiling. Much appreciated.
Wendy—good job fitting in B&G and Centergy.
Judy—have a great time in Chicago. Happy b’day to DH & good luck to DS.
Karen—sorry things are not better for your mom.
Didn't have time yesterday morning to post and was too tired last night. As mentioned yesterday, school matters have to take priority right now. Today we're on a field trip that involves a lot of walking, so that's probably all I'll get in the way of exercise. Gonna have to be a weekend warrior.
Hope your day's a great one!
