    Low Carb Craze

Kathryn, Excellent post! (by excellent post, I mean I agree with everthing you say. So sue me-- I like validation!) Also, it is always important to remember that protein is present in many vegetables and grains (i.e, carbs). We get protein from a variety of sources-- not just animal sources...

    O/T...does anyone sponsor a child?

hi, I was going to suggest the same thing. I have donated new books, picture books with casette read along, puzzles, children's CDs, and puppets to Head Start. They are all appreciated.

    comment about premixes

Hi Cathe, I finally received the two BB DVDs that I ordered. I have one little comment. I do feel there are just too many premixes. They are kind of hard to keep straight. I'm someone who always appreciated your fine job of chaptering which made programming your own workout easy. Now with the...

    Cathe DVD Preorder Bliss

Have to speak up for Karen Voight here! her compilation DVDs are well chaptered, and I do believe her Circuit Training DVD was one of the first to have premixes. You can get two titles on one DVd for cheap!-- something like 10 or 11 dollars at Deep discount DVD.

    When are the DVD's SHIPPING???

Wow! The words "lighten up" come to mind. I'm sorry, but I don't think the original poster's intent was to imply that this problem was a matter of grave national importance. She is not the first person to post about something that is not all that important in the scheme of things-- what about...

    WW.. how many points?

I used the points booster card and always slid it somewhere between the moderate and high intensity designation. That seems about right to me. Depending on the workout, sometimes it is closer to high intensity, sometimes closer to moderate. It is never right on high or moderate intensity (as far...

    Ever get Lonely?

Hi, I was thinking about this this morning when I was (what else?) working out to Cathe (a cardio combo from IMax2/C+W, followed by athe abs from ab work from C+W, if you're interested.) Anyway, I was thinking how very strange it is that we choose to work out at home rather than a gym, but we...

    Thyroid?? Wellbutrin??

Hi, I took Zyban to quit smoking, and it did not cause me to gain weight. Like Melanie, I felt great when I was on it (especially because it helped me to quit that nasty habit!), but I did not take it for long because after a while I kept forgetting to take it. I did not take it more than a...

    Low Carbers - NEED HELP!!!

No, WW is definitely not low carb. It is a well balanced diet. I just suggested it because it has worked for me and many people I know.

    Low Carbers - NEED HELP!!!

Hi, I know this is not what you asked, but have you given weight watchers a try? I felt like I was being really scrupulous with my eating-- cutting out junk, etc-- and of course I exercise regularly, but weight stayed on. I finally started to follow WW. So far I have lost about ten pounds. I...

    It's A Very Busy Time

I agree. Keep the great music coming. Thanks for using remixes to keep the recognizable tunes from sounding stale! I appreciate all the care you put into choosing music.

    German Sheperds

This is not the information you asked for, just a question. I have cats myself, but I just wonder why do dog owners pay so much for a pure bred when there are so many good dogs in shelters that don't have homes?

    Why Drink Water? (long)

Hi Sheila, I wouldn't sweat it (no pun intended). Actually, I read in the New York Times last summer that there is little scientific evidence to support the a statement that a person needs to drink 6-8 glasses a day. As it turns out,(because water in food had not been accounted for previously)...

Which burns more calories weight training or cardio?

Hi, Just wanted to clarify! When I said "others", I did not mean "everyone else". I can see how it could be read that way. I just meant that it might work for some and might not work for others. Okay, that's all.

Which burns more calories weight training or cardio?

RE: Which burns more calories weight training or cardio... hi Cardio burns more calories. I would like to add that others do not have success by adding more weight training. I tend to think weight training is oversold for the revving your metabolism thing. It is very, very difficult to find...

    Peanut Butter

Natural Peanut butter is not hydrogenated, so it separates. Hydrogenation is pretty unhealthy. It also does not contain all the added sugar, salt. I think the stuff is icky myself and loooove Low Fat Jif. I don't buy it because it is low fat (I generally don't buy "lite" or low fat foods...

    Cardio+Weights- lower body focus

I would love to see a C+W 2, but this time focus exclusively on lower body strength work. We could alternate it with C+W. Cardio Kicks 2 would be great as would another all step tape. If you do a CTX 2, I would rather you focus on a couple of body parts in the strength section. Also, what...

Results with two cardio sessions per day

I agree, I do my tapes, but I have to get outside for a walk in the evening. This has nothing to do with fat loss and everything to do with fresh air. I just need to get outside if the weather is decent. I also try to bike or walk for transportation.
