Trying to decide what do buy from Beachbody

I just finished up Chalean Extreme and I loved it and had great results. You definitely get a lot done is a short time, but you have to go heavy to see results. It is probably something you can mix in with Insanity for strength. It is a five day a week program, but I always substituted different...

Any recs for a sneaker that supports the outter foot?

I use Nike Free 5.0 V4 and this shoe literally feels like your foot is doing all the necessary moving and the shoe stays right with you. I previously used the Nike Zoom Sister One shoe and felt I couldn't move as easily while doing lunges as the shoe constricted my foot and I had a harder time...

Legs and Glutes vs Butts and Guts

You won't regret it! I will be doing it once a week for sure. I felt it for a couple of days!

    Body-face disconnect & make-up

Hey Nancy, I would recommend going to Macy's (or something of the sort) and going to one of the make-up counters. That way you can try the make-up before you buy. I recently needed something to help with the darkness under my eyes, and I visited the Bobbi Brown counter. They tried a couple...

    Nausea from Protein Shakes

It may be the brand. My husband and I use different brands, and the one he uses unsettles my stomach. I also like to mix mine with 1/2 banana using a hand blender, that may help.

Legs and Glutes vs Butts and Guts

I have officially done both (did Butts and Guts for the first time today) and I agree with everyone else. Butts and Guts definitely targets the rear more, I am really feeling it! Love it!

    Kick, Punch and Crunch

I have Kick,Punch and Crunch and the MMA's (don't have kickmax) and I think KPC is more intense and much more fun. MMA kickbox is good as well, I just feel like I get a better workout with KPC, and it is nice that it has all the premixes as well. I do not regret purchasing KPC, I love it!

    The stepping learning curve

So I took your advice, Ladies, and after my Hiit 40/20 workout, I popped in Athletic Step, and practiced Combo #1 and part of Combo #2, and what do you know? I actually got better at it and had so much fun with it! Lor, I think you are absolutely right. Once you get used to some of the moves...

    The stepping learning curve

Thanks RapidBreath, great idea to have a "training session" before the workout. Jancpa, I am sooo glad I am not alone! Good luck to you as well. We will have to revisit this in about a month and see where we are. Happy Stepping!;)

    The stepping learning curve

Thanks so much for sharing your tips and experiences with me! I think I will do Basic Step a few more times before I try something more complex. I guess like anything new, it will take practice :) I was hoping it wasn't just me LOL

    The stepping learning curve

Thanks, Afreet! That was one of my concerns, my heart rate dropping when I can't get some of the moves down. I makes it so I'm not getting such a great workout, but if I keep moving, that will help with that issue. The parts I find most difficult is when I would actually have to face away from...

    The stepping learning curve

Thanks Melissa, that gives me some hope! I usually work out first thing in the A.M. before work, so I think I will preview and try some steps the evening before, maybe that'll help. I don't want to count myself out of stepping just yet :D

    Protein bar recommendations

I use Detour low sugar protein bars, I like the low sugar aspect of it. A lot of protein bars have more sugar than I'd like. The taste is decent, it takes a little getting used to. The low sugar chocolate creamy peanut butter looks like this: Nutrition Facts Serving Size 1 Bar Servings Per...

So you've been hit in the head

I would say it depends on how you feel the next day. I took a spill down my stairs this winter, hit my back and head  and felt fine enough to work out the next day, but I wouldn't have forced myself to do so had I not felt well enough.

    The stepping learning curve

Sooo, I am new to Cathe's workouts, new to stepping altogether. I don't want to get discouraged, so, how long did it take you to follow some of Cathe's more complex step moves? I did Basic Step today and tried a couple of combo's off of Athletic Step, and it was difficult to follow at times...

Where did you buy your step?

I also ordered mine from Walmart for 79.00 and used the free shipping to my local store. It is the original club step and it included Cathe's basic step and Cardio + weights dvd. I thought it was a great deal! http://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Step/2590792

Just got STS today, I am so excited but can't decide when to start

Lovebeingmom, I just received mine yesterday as well!! I am soo excited, but I have 3 weeks left of my Chalean Extreme rotation before I will begin. I really hope I can hold out three weeks, but I will view it as a warm up for STS. I'm also planning on working on my 1RM's during this time...
