Bye Diet Coke, I'm going to miss you

I did that experiment when I was in junior high! You can't imagine how difficult it was to find adult teeth! Anyway, I did adult teeth soaked in regular coke, diet coke, other sodas and their diet counterparts. It was ugly. In my particular, and highly scientific!, study, the diet coke was...

CAN YOU SUBSTITUTE DUMBBELLS FOR A BARBELL

It's my opinion that as long as you are using good form and are strong enough to hold the dumbells, they can absolutely be used instead of a barbell. I didn't have a barbell for years and did just fine without it. I like the convenience of it for lower body workouts that require heavier...

Did anyone watch Food Revolution last night?

I watched it! I think it is a fantastic program (and coming from Seacrest, I'm beyond in impressed). I was mortified by how stubborn and ignorant these adults were! They were acting as though Jamie were in there to...well, I don't know what. It was ridiculous. And I was so annoyed by the...

Cathe workouts using just DBs and a bench

I didn't have a barbell for many years and really had no problems. The only issue was lower body work where my upper body would get so fatigued from holding those heavier weights. I totally managed, though. I wouldn't think a single workout would be totally off limits because of that.

    4 Day Split: Your Opinions?

I absolutely love the 4 day split - both the weight sections and the cardio ones. They're just fun and effective without being overkill.

    fun times with psoriasis

I've had psoriasis my whole life. Diet affects it greatly. Eating more (good) fats help a lot. Anything you're allergic to or sensitive to will trigger a flare up. Use only very gentle soaps on your skin! I use an all natural homemade olive oil soap my doctor gave me. A couple of months...

    Top 3 Cathe workouts

I haven't done any of the STS or Shock Cardio workouts yet, so they might become favorites when I get there. 1. Pyramid Upper Body & Pyramid Lower Body: I got back to these time and time again. The time flies, I feel worked out, and I never get bored. They are easily modified, from...

A thread a couple of days ago got me thinking....

I have the same problem as you, only in the grand scheme of things my "bad thing" is going to sound stupid. For about three years, I've been suffering from severe acne and now I am completely scarred. We're talking the kind of scarring that only few men are allowed to get away with, and women...

I don't think I want to watch the news anymore....

The news is crap. It's depressing and it's crap. It's all hype, sensationalism, fear-mongering, and virtually free of facts. If you do watch The Colbert Report or Jon Stewart, you'll see how all newscasters use EXACTLY THE SAME WORDS to describe an event or person, etc. They are all...

Yoga at a studio vs. gym vs. DVD

I couldn't agree with you more, Jerry! I had exactly the same experience with my yoga DVDs. I couldn't do them because I didn't get it. A great teacher and class changed it. And now my DVDs actually DO something for me. A great yoga class is irreplaceable.

Getting out of the "lowest of low"

I've been in and out (mostly IN) the lowest of the low for a good couple of years. What works for me (right now, sporadically) is making plans. Even on days I'm not eating well, I'll head to the store to collect and prepare an entire day's (or week's) worth of healthy foods. I'll juice fruits...

    4 Day Split Cardio

It seems that quite a few people don't like the cardio on these DVDs, but I happen to love it. It's a little more dancy than Cathe's normal stuff, and I kind of like that. I was frustrated at first by a couple of them, but after a couple of tries I was fine. I really like everything about...

    Limecat's Question of the Day

I walk around all day holding onto three things for dear life: 1.) my water bottle 2.) a box of kleenex 3.) lotion Even if I just move rooms, all three things must go with me. My purse is with constant supply, as well. It's ridiculous, so I guess those are the things I can't live...

    Any experience with Ovarian Cysts?

I'm having the same problem. I didn't notice the pain before my gyno felt it during an exam. I had a scope done and they confirmed that I had a cyst that looked like it was collapsing, and I also had scar tissue in many areas where cysts had come and gone. Apparently, three months later, that...

So utterly hooked on "Say Yes to the Dress"!

I watch it, too. Actually, I'm addicted to wedding shows and I HATE weddings! I've been a bridesmaid more times than I can count, and I have no intention of ever having a wedding myself, I find the prices that people pay for things ridiculous, the stress is too much, and on and on. Maybe I...

    Butts and Guts...feedback please

LOVE Butts and Guts!! It is one of the best lower body workouts, in my opinion. I love it's longer length, as sometimes I just want to fry myself. The fact that you added bonuses and premixes is what make the DVD stellar, though. A person can do the whole workout one time and a premix...

Does it REALLY have to be like this?!?

Yes, I am quite the fidget. I think I suffer from restless legs, except I get it in my whole body. I'm lethargic all of the time, but heaven forbid I be required to stay in one position for more than a moment or two. I am ALWAYS uncomfortable! I try harder to be still in public places...

Does it REALLY have to be like this?!?

I NEED cyber therapy. Badly. Can we do therapy anyway? Please? Pretty Please? I'm only half-joking here. I use these forums as therapy sometimes as this is the only place in my life where I can relate to a group of like minded women (and sometimes men). There's something therapeutic and...
