    Gym Style Legs

I don't always agree with everything in the ultimate guide either. I also get more sore from GS Legs than from LG. But not than LL!! I usually do LL with the floorwork from PLB added on. I think LG is pretty relentless though, you really feel drained, but somehow it doesn't make me as sore...

What workout do you do when feeling under the weather.....

If I don't feel good, I usually do Cardio and Weights or SJP, because I think of them as Cathe-lite. Or just the 3 combos from KPC, no high intensity stuff.

Good Cardio with concentration on lower body...

Or just do BodyMax and stop when it starts the upper body stuff. That's about an hour, and if you load the barbell to 45 or so, you can really get a leg workout out of the power circuits. If you still have more time, add on the leg drills from KickMax.

Which ones did you get? (to those who have pre-ordered)

I ordered them all, plus the MIS/Powermax/BodyMax DVD and the Rhythmic Step/Imax/MIC DVD, so I can get rid of more of my VHS stuff. The DVDs just take up a lot less space, ya know? ;-)

    A little disappointed

Not a bummer Nancy. I was disappointed about that too. Although I DO do Cathe's cardio, so I am very pleased we are getting some new stuff. I think you are just being compassionately analytical! :) I get bored with the cardios faster than the weights though, so I can just reuse and reuse...

    The Obligatory Exerciser

Yes, that's good advice. Definitely worth knowing what the limits are. Sometimes it's a fine line between committed discipline and a compulsive addiction. Thank you for posting that. Liane

    PUB overhead press weenie

Holy Crap! I had no idea how big that avatar was. I have remoooooved it, will resize the image or maybe pick a different one and put it back later. Sorry about that, folks. Yes, Nancy, I do the workout as produced. I use 12, 17 and 20 lbs for the three weights for overhead triceps press...

    PUB overhead press weenie

I wish I could help you, Nancy. I mean, they're tough, but I do them. There doesn't seem to be any odd muscle failure in my shoulder. Maybe you could substitute something. Dips? French press?

How much weight for Slow and Heavy

I use the two ankle weights method, plus, I use a fishing vest with lots of pockets that I put weight plates in. The back has a big pocket that I put 10 lbs in, the side pockets hold little 2 1/2 or 5 lb plates. I can end up with 20 or 25 lbs in there, the seams are very sturdy and it works...

How strong are all of you

I do 40-50 on most of Cathe's leg tapes, but 70 on PS Legs and S/H. But on Leaner Legs, just 40!!

    Legs and Glutes

As long as you vary your workout, I don't think there are any hard and fast rules on HOW you vary them. And of course, it depends on your individual needs, genes, DVD collection and such. Just try different things and see what you think! I do Legs and Glutes a couple times a month.

When was the last time you did Interval Max?

I do it about once a month. It's a great workout. I really feel worked out, like to keep track of how I feel after it (if it's killing me, I need to do more cardio intensity) and Cathe and crew just look so cute.

Pure Strength - Is it Good?

I don't think you'll miss anything on the upper body stuff, but the leg workout in PS is much heavier and slower and makes my legs much more sore. I think it's substantially different from GS Legs. But that's probably not enough reason to buy the series if you already have GS.

Breakfast idea .. had to share

A variation on this that I do sometimes, is to put peanut butter in the middle, and a little jam, but not much. I don't use any, because the syrup is enough sugar. I've also seen in a cookbook, a french toasted cheese sandwich! That sounds good too.

How high do ppl go on barbell?

I don't hoist any more than 50 lbs over my head. I can do 55, but it makes me nervous and is not the point of the workout. I wear a vest with up to 25 lbs though, so the heaviest weight I use is 75 pounds. That's what I use for PS Legs, and Slow and Heavy legs. I also sometimes set the...

    Why do you like CTX?

I like it because it's versatile. I never use it as is. But I very often do a short cardio, combined with 2 or 3 upper body muscles, either from CTX or some other series. Leaner Legs is truly evil and therefore a must do. And the abs workouts can be combined. The upper body split is great. The...

Pure Strength - Is it Good?

There are step-ups for legs. I promise. Two sets of 12 on each leg. I know, because I did this workout today! PS Legs is sooooo effective. :) This series is a tad boring to me after all these years, but it's effective and I still do it. The abs workouts are pretty tame, but all the other...

OK, OK, i take it all back re: Low Max...

Yes, indeed. This is my favorite workout of the Hard Cores. Really unique and effective. And I love Pinky's variation.

    Max. Intense Cardio

This workout is very tough. Right up there with the toughest. And the step portion is easy to learn, not too dancy.

    Stepworks. Wow!!

I have Stepworks on VHS, one of my first purchases, and I really do like it. I use it pretty often. It is medium-high tough, and very fun. The choreography is not as complex as RS and SB, but it's close. I wouldn't bother buying any VHS anymore either. And I'm sure she doesn't do power...
