    Week of 3/16 Pregnancy Check-in

Hello. Since I just found out I am pregnant I have not been modifying much. I am still doing Meso 2, just dropping the weights to maintenance. I also run, but slower keeping a close watch on my heartrate. Weather in Georgia is spring-y. Cold (50s) and rainy one day and Warm (70s) and sunny...

    I'm New Here

Glad to "meet" everyone. For telling I am thinking: I will buy grandma brag books, put a first picture at the front and mail them to our mothers for mother's day (that is about when I want to tell anyway).

    I'm New Here

Hello Ladies! I have just found out I am pregnant (I am 5 weeks). DH and I have been TTC for a year, and we are super excited. I am not telling family or friends yet, but just needed to share. This is our first, so any recommendations on books, ways to tell people, workouts, etc. would be...

    Bought a new car...what did I do?

Congratulations on the new car! I name all of my vehicles too, but I wait until they are old enough to have "personality". My current vehicle is too new, it is still just a van.

I did not have any trouble with Disc 14. I know that is not much help.

    What's wrong with me???

Hershey bars are tricky. Breaking along the provided lines does not let the calories out. You have to break into the middle of a piece to the let the calories out.;)

    Slowcooker recommendations - cookbooks too

You have received a number of great recommendations. The only thing I have to add is that if you do not want to the spend the money on a timer feature, just use a Christmas lights timer. I make a crockpot night before, set it up in the morning so that the timer turns on around 12-2 depending...

How heavy dumbbells do you need?

I have been using 35#s for deadlifts in STS, and would prefer 40#s, but cannot hold it and have not yet bought lifting straps. I would keep them, and look forward to growing into those larger weights.

Are you not happy unless you're sore?

I like the little bit of tightness/soreness that lets you know you worked. I am not a big fan of the legs cramping up so much everytime I sit down that I walk bowlegged when I stand up and start crying at the thought of reaching to the floor to pick up my dropped pen DOMS.

    What's your favorite running shoe?

I went to a running specialty store and am another HUGE mizuno fan. Around here the running store is the only one that carries them.

    Powerblocks vs Selectech dumbells

I just got the SelectTech 552s for my birthday (I know only my Cathe friends will understand that DH did REALLY good on this one ;)) and am really enjoying them. I am keeping my regular DBs up to 30 lbs so that DH and I can workout together, and I do like being able to choose the smaller...

    Advice on P90X

I would also not recommend P90X for a beginner. You do the same workouts for 3 weeks in a row, and she would need a wide variety of dumbbells, which most beginners do not have. Beachbody does offer a variety of beginner/intermediate programs that would be more fun and motivating for someone...

What are your favorite foreign fims?

Thanks for all of the ideas. I would also recommend "Babette's Feast", the movie quality is poor, but the story is very beautiful.

    my shoulders are made of.....

I have not got to 10 yet, but 7 was definitely harder than 1 or 4. I nearly cried at the thought of trying to lift my arms to wash my hair in the shower.

    Anyone else incorporating running

I am doing STS and running 3x / week for my cardio. I am doing 1 speed/tempo day, 1 easy run day, and 1 distance day. The weather here has been perfect for pounding out the miles.

    victim of a drive-by...

My cats do love me most when I am all sweaty. The other day she seemed to decide I was not quite smelly enough so she rolled around in my workout socks for a while. :D

    Fear of flying?

I am more afraid of driving than of flying. When I get on the plane I figure I have made a decision to trust the pilot and flight crew by getting on the plane. Because everything is completely out of my control, I simply accept that either we will get where we are going or crash, and my...
