TV and DVD Players in Europe

This is a subject that I know a lot about, having moved from the US to the UK nearly 4 years ago! First of all, the voltage is different in Europe - usually 220 volts, vs. 110 for North America. The hertz are also different. This means that unless they are dual voltage (computers usually are...

July 18 - mysteries of life

    >How come boobs are the last place to plump up and the first >place to "plump down"? > You're singing my song! I have to buy some new bras today - down to an A cup from a B cup. Waah!! I'm happy that I've lost fat, but I'm not happy that my boobs have shrunk so much.;( Not sure if I'm going...

    OMG! Hardcore Extreme!

I did the High/Low Interval mix of Hardcore Extreme today - wow, is that tough! I don't have the HCE DVD, so I just switched LowMax and Imax 3 in and out. I needed those little breaks, let me tell you!! I didn't do the Kickmax Bootcamp drills, either, but I still got an hour's intense interval...

    Nationality

On my mother's side, her father emigrated from Sweden as a young boy. Her mother's parents emigrated from Norway. On my Dad's side, his mom's parents were German-Russian, not sure exactly where they emigrated from. On his dad's side details are sketchy, but we think there is Scottish & English.

Anyone workout to manage their moods?

Becky, I do have some melatonin. I haven't used it much, because it seems to make me have very vivid dreams! And if I'm in an anxiety cycle, the dreams aren't that pleasant. But, I'm going to give it a try again.

Anyone workout to manage their moods?

I've been working out consistently 5-6 days a week for nearly a year now. I have seen fitness gains, and some inches lost (would be better if I ate cleaner, LOL!) The major reason I workout so consistently and hard is to manage my anxiety and blue moods. I have been particularly anxious the past...

Anyone had dvd problems w. KPC?

I just got KPC to day (from CK Sales) and it's got a defect that makes it freeze up totally right after the warm up. The Intermediate and High drill chapters are both messed up. The only bit that works is if I do Premix #2 (WU, combos, abs, stretch.) Legs & Glutes seems just fine. I've e-mailed...

    Low Max - interval training?

My knees can't take much high impact interval training. Could Low Max be considered interval training? What about Step Blast (though that's got some higher impact.) Imax 3 is really tough on my knees w/ all the jumping, but I want to make sure I do an interval workout once a week. Thanks for...

    Buying Cathe Dvds in England

Hi Ruth, I'm in the UK. I've only ordered from Collage Video, but have had very good luck w/ them - no import fees, and I usually order 2 or 3 DVDs at a time. Maybe I've just been lucky! I'll have to give cksales a try, though.

High Step Challenge - new fav!

I don't have a barbell and use dumbbells. I haven't had a problem yet. I use about 1/2 to 2/3 the weight Cathe uses, and DBs have been just fine for me so far. I gave DBs up to 16 pounds (each.) I plan to get a barbell in the next few months, though, but I'm waiting until we move back to the...

Hammer lunges in HSC - need help!

    >Also, you don't have to put torque in this move. Rather than >starting in a 'ready' stance and turning toward the front a >bit, as when you do punches, just stay facing forward. Ah, that makes sense. Thanks Kathryn!

Hammer lunges in HSC - need help!

Thanks for the suggestions. I did regular static lunges today, but was wondering if there was something else to up the intensity a bit. I'll play around with some different type of lunges. I dread planks - but I'll do them, in hopes that I can someday do the on/off step move! Thanks again,

    Wedding outfit question

Do you have any dressy summer coats that you could put over it, or could you buy one? Here (UK) I see lots of people at the church with a dressy, coordinating jacket or coat over their dress, then they take the jacket/coat off for the reception. Maybe a silk or satin trench or swing coat...

Hammer lunges in HSC - need help!

Hi all, Does anyone have any tips and/or modifications for doing the hammer lunges in High Step Challenge? I found that they really torque my knee. I workout on carpet - only surface available, unfortunately. Also, I totally cannot do the plank move where you have your toes on the step...

High Step Challenge - new fav!

Wow, I just finished High Step Challenge for the first time, and I love it! What a workout. I wanted to do both weights and cardio today, but didn't want to do more than about an hours workout. HSC fit the bill for me perfectly. Feels great when you're done, too.:7 Stephanie
